Gangtok Holiday March 2026

We spent three nights and four days at Karma Martam Retreat in Gangtok. The rooms were clean, nice and spacious.
We enjoyed the pool and foos ball table. Did a village tour, was fun.
There were some enjoyable events one evening arranged by the Karma team, it was good.

The food was okay. I was hoping for some local food, but got none. The trip to Tsongmo Lake , Nathula Pass, MG Road is far from this resort and the drivers charge you more to pick and drop from here.

The setup is a village. I'd rather see a view of the mountains, one of the primary reasons we traveled so far was to see the majestic Kanchenjunga.

We stayed at Salford Hall

We stayed at Salford Hall, the grounds are well-maintained.
Staff are very accommodating, friendly, and pleasant.
The bar is a friendly, stylish area, and dogs are allowed with a nice gesture of dog treats.
Continental breakfast is varied, and there are plenty of options if you want a hot breakfast.
The gym is very sad-looking and cold and was quite dirty, think perhaps a treadmill should be installed as just one bike and weights.
The rooms are pleasant; we stayed in the dog-friendly rooms with a nice gesture of a dog bed and bowls already there.
You have nice robes and a little chocolate bar left for each of you, which was very nice.
The furniture is a bit dated and rundown but fits with the room.
The bed was very comfortable and bedding lovely.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Karma Fushi

Karma Fushi
Just had 6 nights on board Karma Fushi in the Maldives. All I can say is amazing, Dylan, the GM, is deligent, runs a smooth operation and his staff did a fantastic job. Food is excellent and varied.
You get some down time but there are plenty of activities/excursions during your time.
The cruiser is well equipped and the rooms are nice and have everything you need. Just remember you are there for the outdoor experience and this hits it. It seems that Karma have thought of everything in this particular location.
Joel the assistant manager deserves a special mention for his energy and hard work.

Great itinerary

The onboard experience under general manager Dillon and the crew was fabulous. Chef and food were great. Guest/member services were disappointing except Martin who was very good. Other than Martyn they didn’t engage with many passengers. 6 night itinerary was great and all it included. Lack of communication leading up to the cruise was extremely stressful as we didn’t know what the arrangements were and concierge did not respond promptly.

Room allotted at 4.30 pm after lot of…

Room allotted at 4.30 pm after lot of follow-up with the reception team. They were keep on telling that it will be ready soon.
This is the third time I visited Haathi mahal. It’s one of the best resort of Karma. I am also a fractional owner. The service is getting deteriorated .

We were senior citizen of average age…

We were senior citizen of average age is 75, when we reach on 11th march candidates 'manager alloted 1st floor rooms and said no rooms available on ground floor,
In kandars resorts villa 68 , pool is so small and deep so we can't enjoy pool facilities, we also request for 2 studio without pool but the procedure is long which can't complete during stay

In Sanur same repetation rooms are on 2nd floor without lift , when we book rooms ,are you not send our details of age, and senior citizens to facilitate ground floor rooms, We request ed at Sanur to change rooms to ground floor even upgrade to available room of 2bed instead 2studio rooms, the manager said you have send mail to booking office for change after receiving confirmation at 8pm.

WHEN WE ARRIVE, THEY TOLD US ET WRITE IT DOWN THAT WE HAVE $100 US TO SPEND AT THE BAR AND RESTAURANT. BUT THE DAY WE LEAVE THEY CHARGE EVERYTHING!!! WHEN WE SHOW THEM THE PAPER THEY SAY THAT THE EMPLOYE AS A MISSUNDERSTANDING, SO THEY WILL GIVE US $50 US OFF THE BILL. BIG PROBLEM OF COMMUNICATION IN THIS COMPANY. SO I CHANGE 3 STARS FOR 2.****

***KARMA EXPERIENCE, BAD EXPERIENCE***

We were in Hoi An when 2 youngs women ask us a few questions and give us a scratch coupons. What I win was 3 possibilities, an Iphone, 7 free nights in an big hotel or 6,000,000 vnd.

To scratch and find out wich price I won, we got to spend more than an hour in one of a very big nice hotel in the same city, it was an interview to invest money for kind of sharing vacations. After the interview, they scratch to know wich price I won and it was a 7 free nights in one of the hotels!!! Everything was looking really nice...

After 2 months, we find out that it’s a scam because we finally talk to somebody and he ask us to pay... Instead of winning 7 nights, they wanted to reserve 4 nights but we have to pay!!! We change our itinary of our stay in Thaïlande because the hotel we choose was at Koh Samui. So we lost time and other places we would like to go because of that.

Simply stunning

I have been a Karma member for many years now so know standards will be good. Karma Bayon in Siem Reap is stunning, rooms are beautiful plenty of space with good facilities, staff are friendly and professional it is exceptional, and convenient Tuk Tuk service right outside the hotel to take you into town, Only thing please change hairdryers those things stuck to the wall that you have to hold button are of no use to anyone! There are never enough hangers, I was travelling solo so not much of a problem for me, and there where not drawers or shelves which would have helped.

Karma Lake of Menteith

Karma Lake of Menteith
A lovely hotel fronting the lake with stunning views. The rooms are fairly big but the hotel as a whole needs a refresh/bit of tlc. We appreciate it is old, but we have stayed at Karma St. Martins (the best of the UK locations) and Karma Salford Hall (fabulous) and this one is a little below that.
The rooms do not have a kettle - and we were told it was because certain groups of people cook rice or noodles or things in them and so they were removed, so we do understand that and on asking if we could have one as we dont drink coffee (they have fantastic coffee machines in the rooms), the lovely staff supplied a kettle to us. Their understanding and friendliness is great.
We stayed for 2 nights in Osprey room, went away for three nights to elsewhere in Scotland and then came back for a further 15 nights and were upstairs in the Highland room. This was great as it had a huge bathroom with separate shower, dual sinks and claw foot bath (ideal for a long soak), it also had a dressing room/study and the main bedroom with a stunning oak great bed with views out over the Lake of Menteith to die for.
The armchiairs in the room were extremely hard and uncomfortable and caused me to have a bad back and we ended up sitting on the bed each evening to watch tv but again the staff were great when we mentioned it to Lizzy (it was our 4th time of mentioning it) and she managed to get two comfortable armchairs switched out with elsewhere - since we still had over a week to go this was extremely appreciated.
In terms of location, it is a little bit in the middle of nowhere, but when you get the map out , you find that although you have to travel some way (even with the road closure) you are fairly central to several places either by car or by car to the train station and then take the train. In the time we were here we visited Sterling, Dunblane, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Loch Lomond, Doune Castle, Sterling Castle, Eilean Donan, Urquhart, Culloden and Glenfinnan (Harry Potter) Viaducts, a couple of whisky distilleries, Inchmahome Priory (by private arrangement), Perth , Inverness, Fort William, Mallaig and Scone Castle and are looking forward to their evening ceilidh entertainment held on the last Friday of each month (we are still here).
The wifi and parking are good, the continental and cooked breakfasts are more than enough to set you up for the day and the welcoming small dram of whisky on arrival is most welcome too.
There is an on site sauna in a shepherds hut with wild swimming afterwards in the Lake, free to hotel guests on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays - charged for at other times, as well as a games room with plenty of music, large tv, pool table and a host of other games. Don't forget to ask for a downstairs room if you have mobility issues as there is no lift.

We stayed at karma sitabani recently…

We stayed at karma sitabani recently from 10th to 15th of March. The resort is very scenic with well maintained rooms and lawns. The staff were very polite and always trying to please. We had food on all days at the resort itself. Chef Fired Virendra and his team provided very good service with nice food specially nonvegetarian items. The menu is limited and requires additional items particularly south Indian dishes. We had been to 2 safaris arranged by reception. The trips were nice but slightly on the expensive side. Overall our trip was very pleasant and we enjoyed a lot

Nous avons adoré très bon séjour à Koh Samui

Nous avons adoré l'espace plage et l'accueil du personnel au restaurant. Le responsable est vraiment un homme charmant.
Notre transfert de l'aéroport à l'hôtel était bien organisé.
Notre première chambre était très bruyante et trop lumineuse mais nousavons pu changer facilement pour être installés dans l'immeuble . La chambre était très conforatable, propre et avec tout le nécessaire.

I stayed at Karma Royal Boat Lagoon

I stayed at Karma Royal Boat Lagoon, Phuket with my friend. It was a great time we spent at Karma boat lagoon. We were 2 couples. Rooms were nice. Nice view from the balcony. Staff was very good. Irene looks after us very well.
Thai & Italian food was very nice. Enjoyed my holidays.
