I chose this solicitor because my initial experience was very positive. Unfortunately, that level of service disappeared once we became clients.

From that point onwards, communication was extremely poor. The only time we heard from the firm was when they needed us to complete the next step in the transaction. We repeatedly had to chase for information ourselves, sending around five or six emails that went unanswered, despite asking important questions about the purchase.

One of the biggest disappointments was the lack of guidance throughout the process. As first-time buyers, we expected our solicitor to explain key stages of the transaction and advise us on matters affecting our purchase. Instead, we received little to no proactive communication.

Trying to speak to the solicitor was also incredibly difficult. We phoned several times over the course of a week and were repeatedly told that he would call us back. Those calls never came. Throughout the entire transaction, it felt like communication only happened when it benefited the progression of the sale, not when we needed advice or reassurance.

A solicitor should be more than someone who processes paperwork. They are supposed to represent their client's interests, provide advice, answer questions, and guide clients through a complex legal process. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

While our purchase was completed, the level of customer service, communication, and client care fell well below what we expected. I hope this feedback encourages improvements because buying a home is stressful enough without having to chase your own solicitor for basic information.

Found the receptionist to be short and abrupt. I asked if they offer fixed fee appointments to which she said she would request that somebody to call me back. Nobody ever did. Very disappointed as this firm was actually recommended to me.

Rude, rude, rude. Kellie Darke at the Cranbrook handled the transfer of ownership of my property some time ago (3 separate titles). I recently went on the government land registry site to check my title summary and title plans. Only one of the titles is registered. When I emailed Kellie to ask why 2 of the 3 titles are not showing on the govt land registry site, she ignored my email for 3 weeks. When I followed up, she called me. I returned her call and she very flusteredly told me she was busy busy busy and had been trying to get something done all day so give her 2 minutes and she'll call me back. OK. She called back then just in such a high stressed out state she just talked over me the whole time saying she'd done them all and she'd send them to me (why weren't the sent years ago when she did the work?). Would not let me ask the question of why they weren't on the land registry site. Just repeatedly talked over me louder and louder every time I tried to speak and refused to listen! When I asked her to please listen to my question, she said no, you're not listening to me!! I had listen to her and said yes, please send me the email and share the documents you have. But let me ask my question - why aren't they on the gov Land Registry site - I can't just show future conveyancers some bits of paper and say that's official. Refused to listen. Eventually said 'take it up with land registry'. INCREDIBLY rude. I had to literally shout to ask one question. Utterly unprofessional. I am shocked. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. Insane.

I dealt with 3 different solicitors for my matter until losing faith with the competency. My main issue has come from billing, I was told I had been charged incorrectly and it would be amended. 5 months later, Debt Recovery team are chasing me with a complete lack of knowledge of the case. I would avoid at all costs.

Yesterday, Tuesday 4th February,I phoned these Solicitors at about midday,about possibly using them in the sale of my Restaurant ,
THE BELLA PIZZA & PASTA, in Folkestone Kent. They assured me someone would phone back shortly.
By today, (the 5th February), by noon I still had had no contact from them. So I phoned them myself, and their only response was to say they had ‘no availability’!!

What an absolutely DREADFUL company!

The staff were completely uninterested in obtaining a new Client. AMAZING !

I filed a formal complaint with this company. Their compliance officer (!) refused to send a PDF file to a bank so I could receive my meagre share of my mother’s Will following a clown-show of a probate dispute. She claimed she was “too busy”!! Bad, right? She wasn’t done being disrespectful, unprofessional and bare-faced rude: she actually hung up the phone (the fact I was calling from Japan compounded the disgraceful behaviour).
The formal complaint was of course an internal job and a farce, covering their bases with shameless denials and obfuscation a toddler could see through.
I’ve asked for a do-over. As a journalist you may read the full story soon. Avoid this firm like the plague.

Unsurprisingly this seems to be a first review for this modest law firm. The litigation team were quickly out of depth in a commercial case, did not fulfil simple instructions, poor advice, wasted many months and thousands of pounds of unnecessary legal fees. An absence of good faith and client care result in a hugely disappointing experience.
