Disputing charge with Card. Return label Needed.

I placed an order March 2026. In this order, I put my correct email address. After placing my order, I received the proper order confirmation, sent to the email address I entered in the lakeside website.

When the items arrived, I noticed it did not match the photo on their website. It looked dull and the paint was discolored, unlike the NEW items they advertised. I was displeased and went about returning the item.

I contacted Lakeside twice on two separate dates and spoke with two different representatives regarding my return. That was over two weeks ago. I told the second representative that if I didnt get a return label to return these items I wasn't going to call a third time - I was going to dispute the charge with my card instead.

Which is exactly what I'm currently doing right now.

Lakeside must have received noticed of my dispute. They are acting extremely foolish in handling what could have been a simple return. Instead of sending me the return label, they instead sent me a bill for the same items I paid upon checking out (and wish to return).

Lakeside does not have an email, therefore there is no paper trail of my attempts in trying to get my return label.

However I do have proof in my call logs showing I call after the order was delivered as well as the time stamps for each call. I also have proof the item I received was inferior in quality to what was advertised

Their items are low quality and their customer service department is extremely unknowlegable and Unhelpful. It's companies like these that make me grateful for Amazon, where the returns are relatively simple.

If anyone from Lakeside reads this and decides to take action - provide me with an email so I may disclose my order number and get this resolved finally.

avoid them at all cost

i should have read the reviews before ordering. i've purchased from them years ago and the product was great and there was no issues at the time. they must be under new leadership.. i recently ordered items from them again and OMG what a disappointment. they had a promo on the site that they didn't honor, there were hidden delivery fees for an item they cancelled, and an additional delivery fee for an item that they listed as heavy...it weighed less than a pound. when i originally talked with them they asked that i call them back after all the items were delivered and i would get a credit for the "additional delivery fee". now they refuse to honor that offer. this is in clear violation of the fair trades and practices act and i feel like the ftc (federal trade commission) should investigate this company

Lakeside, mental help or is it a prison

I have been to lakeside over the years 3 times. Each time there was a step down from care. The. 1st stay they really helped me. I had myown room and there was access to juice and stuff on the floor that you could get anytime. The counseling was on point, I felt cared for and taken care of. The 2d time the care was reduced, all the men and women were separated and the juice amenity had vanished. There was less therapy and less care. The 3d time I went in for rehab, no juice machine, locked out of your rooms and forced to sit in hard common room area, clinical setting. Uncomfortable the staff was rude, inconsiderate, uncaring. I can attest to uncaring due to me having regular chest pain due to copd and o also have panic attacks, well day 1 of the 3d trip I panicked, started my chest pain up, I asked for help and I got hollored at and if I didn't straighten up they would send me to a more lock down area for the unruly clients. I tried to check my blood pressure and heartrate looking at the machine but the woman turned it away from me and said people having heartattacks don't check their blood pressure reading. First of all I never said I was having a heart attack I told them chest pains. My psychiatrist attested that I have chest pains when panicked. So between the copd pain that feels like a heart attack and the fact it was day 1 and I was detoxing and freaking out. So chest pain from copd plus a panic attack at a mental facility that should be able to detect and treat a panic attack or politely and quickly rule out major health problems due to what your saying was a problem with my attitude not a mental health issue which was why I was there. Once a day in the unfriendly common room clinicalchair setting after you get locked out of your hard mat piece of bed in the room you have to share with 2 other people so that they keep you up all night snoring and you can't sleep they will not allow you to lay down during the day. They keep rooms locked thru the day.maling sure you can't rest orrelax. Just sit in the hard chairs thru out the day, fight for a phone to use, walk to the cafeteria to be treated like a kindergartener that can't walk back to her room alone when she's finished eating. I'm sorry did I say room. I meant common area cause they won't allow you to rest. They did not even give me my bipolar1 medication while I was there and nothing to help with sleep. They did start me on inhaler medication for my lungs after doing an xray and seeing the problem which I was hollered at and mistreated over the night b4. I was self put into rehab but I begged them to let me out of that he'll hole but they wanted the 7 days my insurance would pay for while they didn't give me any help or therapy of any kind for what I was there for. I was detoxing, I was very overly tired, I'm a solitaryperson and I had to share a tiny room with 2 women that both snored so loud I couldn't fall asleep. Those rooms hardly hold 2 beds but they are stacking people deep forthwir insurance money, holding them in prison for 7 days then without any help the whole time you were there they send you back into the world set up for failure, feeling worse about yourself than yo did when you got there. There was a daily speaker, either a attempt at a therapist all in one session, seemed more like a life coach but they would stand up for nearly an hour and talk life stuff. Entertain us with crazy life and such but in the end was useless to my journey. I need a private room, my own bathroom, a place that I can rest between actual therapy treatments. I need to be educated about the drug I'm on and how to overcome the cravings when I'm released. At lakeside I was set up for failure with their hope being that I'm dumb enough to come back to them for any reason. I simply refuse and will live this way forever if I can't find more accommodating comfortable rehab. I need therapy daily, I need group therapy daily. I'm not interested in karaoke or trivial games that you throw people at instead of real therapy and you call it music therapy. We'll, it don't work. It's entertainment not a therapy. It's fun don't get rid of it but it should be a weekend trip to the wreck room for karaoke. For those who want to sing and listen. I am not young, I can't sing and don't want to, I do not want to hear other people screech out their renditions. I just wanted a place to relax, sleep, rest and manage the cravings while getting actual therapy. Lakeside has gone so far down the gutter as ivewatched that it's not much more than a detention center. It's like putting yourself in jail then being treated that it'll be longer to leave if you fight the system. There is no leaving against medical advice no matter what. Once you're there your stuck and they will make you regret you ever wanted help. I relapsed 2 days after leaving there. I had no iDea what to expect and believed the cravings would be reduced.

They do not do price adjustments

They do not do price adjustments, maybe i just luck out with the other companies I order from, but every now and then this comes up if i notice it and have never had a problem doing a price adjustment. Also the shipping and delivery time to receive your items take way too long. They say 7-10 days, but I have always waited longer than that. Will not ever shop with them again.

Price Increase

I am writing this because of the huge mark ups on prices from this company. I just received a new magazine and I have found 5 things I have purchased from Temu at less than half the price of Lakeside. Do yourself a favor and save some money.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM

I ordered one item from this business in Nov 2021 that cost a total of $17.66. I used a CC that I seldom use, then did not follow up. Today, 33 months later (July 2024), I decided to take a closer look at the card and the charge's that were listed on my July statement. I did not recognize one item but there was a phone number to contact. I called the number to find out that ASC Lakeside had been charging me a monthly subscription fee of $14.95 since Nov 2021. It looks like a few days after the initial order was placed, they started charging me this fee, which I had not agreed to. I have not ordered anything else since the initial order, but the total subscription fee cost to date is now at $493.55. They agreed to cancel the account then promised a refund 10 months, $149.95, but refused to go any further.

A REAL SCAM!!!!

A REAL SCAM!!!!! I ordered a $9.95 item, they charged my account $25.65, added a subscription of $16.95 per month that was NOT authorized and refuse to refund and cancel my account. THEY ARE THIEVES!!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THESE UNETHICAL PEOPLE.

This is another fly by night company

This is another fly by night company. They don’t have customer service reps in the USA and trying to talk to them is crazy. They also call you at any time demanding a credit card or bank information and that you have to pay off your charge. The company went into bankruptcy and it took 3-4 months to get an order anyway. Terrible customer service.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

STEER CLEAR - THEY'RE NO GOOD. I enjoyed shopping with Lakeside but they have recently become completely unreliable. I placed 2 orders on the same day (April 10) - one for $130apx and 1 for $23apx. On May 7 my card was charged for the smaller order, not for the larger order. I got an email that it was shipped, but the link provided to track it was a dead link. I tried to copy/paste the tracking number into FedEx, UPS, and USPS tracking and nothing was found. On May 10 (a month after I placed the order) nothing had arrived, so I called Lakeside several times, and sat on hold for at least 40 mins. per call. No one ever picked up. While looking for other phone numbers to call for help, I realized I had been blocked out of the Lakeside Perks website and was completely unable to get thru to anyone for assistance. I sent several emails to Lakeside Collection requesting assistance to no avail. Because I was not able to get help accessing my Lakeside Perks account, I had to cancel my credit card that Lakeside Perks was charging me monthly on, and get a new one. I don’t know what’s going on with this company, but even as I type this review, I continue to get advertising emails from them as if nothing is going on. I’m confused and frustrated. I give up. I quit Lakeside Collection and Lakeside Perks. Their customer service sucks so bad that there is no sale or no item cute enough to do business with a company that has exhibited this amount of failure and refuses to answer their phones let alone answer for their mistakes. Just for good measure, before I posted this complaint, I tried to call their customer service again (about the Perks account) and have been sitting on hold for 56 minutes at this point.

Lakeside Collection's: 'poor' customer order service and product avaliablity knowledge.

Lakeside: 'Wilton cookie sheets ordered; but- not delivered.'
Disappointed, I ordered the Wilton cookie sheets; and, I never received them after waiting 4 weeks for my 'ordered item's' delivery! I contacted you, and the response was: 'that they would be replaced; and, I WOULD receive them. HMMM, then a week later-- I was notified by email-'Sorry , product not available.' Second time that's happened to me after waiting weeks for an ordered GIFT item. Very, Disappointed in your 'lack' of caring, customer service. Just a thought- maybe your computer inventory program needs updated!?

Yep, another scammer

Lakeside lists fake prices and then pads them on checkout with unexplained surcharges and "special delivery" fees.

When I opened a chat and challenged them on it, they claimed that the surcharges were to offset extra expenses due to "the holidays..." ON FEBRUARY 21.

Lying trash. Avoid.

Snail mail took over 3.5 weeks, over paid on shipping

I ordered from The Lakeside Collection but never again! One e-mail confirmation shows me paying :
total:18.10, ship $6.99 surcharge $3.00
But when I go to view order I get:
total : $18.30 Shipping 9.99

So, which is it? $18.10 or $18.30? shipping $6.99 or $9.99? According to their chart I should be paying $6.99 for shipping on my order total but they have me at $9.99 which is higher than the average for shipping. And they don't mention this Carrier surcharge any where. What is this for? Why am I paying this? Plus, If I AM the one paying for shipping, why is it taking over 3 WEEKS for me to get my items? I believe they are using SNAIL MAIL and probably paying less for the shipping so they can make money on the shipping that I am paying for!
And how are they going to show on their shipping rates "you save more for shipping with the more you buy"? I buy more and get free shipping from most companies! So I pay for shipping but LS sends it snail mail anyway so I save money or they make $$ on my shipping?

Always read reviews before ordering

I ordered 3 cat Christmas ornaments in the middle of November, expecting to get them before Christmas. The website suggested they were in Britain, but I guess they're not or they get their products from China which then takes longer. I got an order confirmation and that was it. A month later I remembered the stuff still hadn't arrived and emailed them. I read the reviews and expected never the see my order. However they replied, saying due to high order numbers they were a bit delayed. I few days later I received a shipping confirmation and lo and behold on December 29th my order arrived, too late for Christmas. The quality was ok, the paint job on the ginger cat was not like in the pictures at all but hey ho. Definitely never going to order anything without reading reviews first.

a few months ago my wife ordered some things and sent a check she miss added and they emailed me saying that we owed them $5.20 so we send a check on 10/19/2022 the check was cashed on 10/28/2022 they keep insisting that we never paid yet I told them that the canceled check in my hand and the continued insisting we still owe them the money watch yourself these people will rip you off

BEEN SCAMMING US FOR A YEAR, tried to call, chat, email to get us off the membership but they kept charging us. I have all the evidence and trail of communication. DO NOT BUY OR SIGN UP WITH THEM!!!!!!!! I am know after this review they will copy paste the response ..but I did try to reach out and they did not respond or took us off. I will only accept a refund for a full year that they kept charging us as a response.

Unethical Marketing

A close family member sent me a gift through this company who promptly used my mailing information to create an unauthorized account. They began sending me MULTIPLE mailer catalogs which overstuffed my mailbox, rendering the lid unable to close, crushing important mail documents and exposing them to the elements wherein many pieces were ruined in the rain. Further, I maintain consistent registration with the DMAChoice registry and my account is active through December of 2028. The Lakeside Collection ignored this "Do Not Mail" status and sent unsolicited mailers, anyway. Worse yet, the gift was from a family member under a family name I do not use (or disclose) to ANYone, let alone create any accounts under this name. It is NOT my legal name, and I cannot provide current proof of identity therefor.

I attempted to go to their website to "opt-out" of a mailing list for which I never opted in. The only way to do so would be to create a full-blown account with their company, providing even more information, which I do not intend for them to have, and then change my mailer preferences. The creation of that account also requires agreement to receive additional marketing to all phone, email, and USPS contact channels. Suffice to say, I did NOT create an account. Their "chat" also requires verification of an email I do not wish to provide.

Next, I called their customer service line (not toll-free) and provided the Mailing ID No. on the back of each catalog received, verified the mailing address, verified my last name, and informed them the first name is a "nickname" that I DO NOT GO BY, but the representative insisted on calling me that on several occasions, regardless. She then insisted I must disclose an email address and phone number for "verification purposes" despite the fact that none was ever provided, and I only receive their mailers as a gift recipient. She CATEGORICALLY REFUSED to cease all harassment without disclosure of private information (phone and email), which could not be verified, as it was never provided in the first place. Further, their website states that provision of email and phone number constitutes approval to receive their marketing! She placed me on hold for more than 30 minutes waiting for a "supervisor" that never came on the line.

So far, I have spent more than 90 unpaid minutes between websites, phone calls, and other logistics management simply attempting to stop mailers I never authorized and cancel an account that was created in my identity without my permission. They verified ALL AVAILABLE information, and still refused to cancel the mailers. I am now filing complaints and reports with all available entities, and will return every piece of mail received "Refused -- RTS."

It is illegal to continue harassing someone through email when they have unsubscribed and will get you in big trouble with ICANN. How is it legal to harass someone through the federally governed United States Postal System, waste tangible resources, demand disclosure of more private and personally sensitive information, and occupy equipment dedicated to approved purposes, when they have blatantly requested cessation?

CONSUMER BEWARE

CONSUMER BEWARE. I placed an order with Lakeside Collections & paid with my Visa. I then was deluged with e-mails promoting their products. I tried unsubscribing many times to no avail. I then contacted Lakeside & requested removal from their e-mail list. I rceived reply from their Customer Support saying they would do so. I discovered Lakeside had surreptitiously used my Visa to enroll in their program LSCPerks.com whereby I was unknowigly paying for their advertising which I had attemped to escape from. The use of my credit card without my nowledge or consent amounts to fraud and I have contacted the Illinois Attorney General's office to make a formal complaint.
