Very good and accessible

I started the course wanting to improve my cookers skills, which were non existent, and look after myself better. The online element suited my availability and sessions were detailed and helpful. Angela our mentor was encouraging and helpful. Very, very pleased I did this and have signed up for a slightly more advanced course already.

I really enjoy the course because it teach me how to make lots of new food such as pancakes, pad thai and so much more.

The teachers and other students were kind and helpful and encouraging. Learning to bake in stages and sections made it easy to understand and follow.

What a great course. I learnt so many different ways to cook food. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their cooking skills. I have booked on the next course which is a baking course.

Leith cookery school are an amazing online cookery school who greatly helped my with my cooking schools.

This course is aimed at Duke of Edinburgh Award participants who are looking to gain cookery skills in an online format. All the information is provided in an easily accesible starter pack and very engaging and easy to follow weekly video presentations that can be accessed whenever is convenient for the user. The course tutor is wonderful and her feedback is so positive and encouraging, perfect for teens who have never taken part in the various recipes and/or skills before. It is a great starting point for anyone who wants to learn to cook a variety of tasty recipes and how to prepare ingredients safely and in an efficient way in their own kitchens. Would highly recommend!

It was a great honour to learn how to cook like a professional from a prestigious culinary art school.I really enjoyed the lessons and the tutors were professional and consistent in their delivery of the material. In other words I made a great investment and I have acquired skills that will benefit me and others. Thank you very much.

Did the fish fundamentals. Learnt lots about fish and shell fish. Clear instructions and videos I. How to filet and skin fish. Great recipes. Wonderful side salads. Great feedback I can do something with from the mentor who was v encouraging. Great to do this at own pace at home.

The Leith’s course was just fabulous and has elevated my cookery skills to the next level. The tutors were highly skilled and particular about each element of the cooking process. Video footage left nothing to chance and you could cook along to the video to interpret each step correctly. Belinda, our mentor, was excellent!

Recipes were for quite a large quantity, and it was not specified how many people it should feed to allow for adjustment at the beginning. Some of the ingredients were less commonly used and more expensive to buy. Recipes were generally quite wintery. It was a struggle to make chilli con carne one week folllowed by macaroni cheese the next week when it was the height of summer.

My daughter did the course for her bronze Duke of Edinburgh, skills. Each video was brilliant, explaining the recipe and demonstrating step by step the cooking. She really enjoyed it thank you.

A really super online cookery school, one of my children did a course for their DoE silver skills badge, the recipes were delicious, sufficiently challenging yet teen-friendly, the videos provided step-by-step instructions and support and the feedback was spot on. Highly recommend.

I found the course really, really useful as I hadn’t cooked before and, as a 70+ year old busy divorcee and grandfather still working 5 days a week, I still managed to complete the course in 6 months (some evenings but mostly weekends), because the combination of videos, written instructions & theory notes, being part of a class and prompt feedback by a professional mentor kept me interested, motivated and informed all the way through the 6 months. I will do the certification next spring and then go on to an advanced or specialist course with Leiths, whom I couldn’t recommend more highly. Huge thanks, James
