Boost Mobile Insurance is Terrible Don't waste your $
I got the phone insurance through Boost Mobile. That was a mistake. You would think you could just get a replacement through the store. No they have to send you one. On top of the cost of the monthly insurance fee you have to pay $40 also they have terrible, terrible service. I started calling on a Monday about my lost device. First they didn't have me in their system, that took a day. Then they sent my device to San Diego I live in Sacramento. Now here we are it's Friday and it's going to take one business day for me to get my phone which means it'll be here on Tuesday. Total days since calling 8. Don't get it not worth it and it will never let you talk to a supervisor ever. So after all was said and done I made 3 trips to the Boost store, at least 1 to 3 daily calls to the insurance company Likewise. Luckily I had only made a few months of payments but waiting 8 days for a phone is unacceptable.
Five years of premiums for a £149 "repair" fee on a £200 phone? Absolute scam.
I don't usually write a review, but for this, I must..
I have been a loyal Barclays customer paying for "Likewise" phone insurance for over five years. I’ve never made a single claim—until today. After handing over my hard-earned money every month for half a decade, I finally tried to get my OnePlus 7 Pro repaired.
The result? An absolute joke.
They demanded a £149 just to send me a refurbished unit. To put that into perspective, you can buy this exact phone brand new for around £200 today. They are essentially asking me to buy the phone all over again, despite the fact that I’ve already paid them hundreds of pounds in premiums over the years.
It’s a predatory business model. They rely on you forgetting about the monthly direct debit, and the moment you actually need the "protection" you’ve paid for, they hit you with fees that make the insurance worthless.
Total waste of money. Do yourself a favor: cancel your policy, put that monthly fee into a savings account, and stay far away from Likewise.

Sheer incompetence
The inclusion of this so called benefit with my so called Barclays Premium” bank account is close to enough to make me change banks. I shall notify Barclays of this. Ridiculous process. Automated call service is incredibly frustrating. The agent I (finally) just spoke to waffled on and on without answering the question for over 5 minutes. Unbelievable. “I’m going to feedback your experience” and again 7 more times he said the same thing. Poor command of the English language and utterly inept.
Some companies know how to deliver the most dreadful customer experience and damage their brand permanently. Likewise appears to be excellent at this.
What a poor standard and what a waste of my time.

Ordered an item that took forever to get here. Then I didn’t want it and wanted to return it but they said the warehouse was in china and would cost too much to send back. They first offered me $4 on a $38 item.. then offered me $7, then $13. I said send the full $38 or they get a bad review then I blocked them. Worst business I’ve ever dealt with! Don’t waste your money or time!

I received an email from them telling me that they haven’t received the goods. But, I never did use them.
Terrible company
Terrible company. Do not use. I am currently going through Barclays Bank to make a formal complaint against them.
Excellent Service
Really great service from really helpful staff. William was able to resolve a complex issue immediately. DPD has lost my new phone whilst in transit and likewise sent a replacement when requested
First Rate service
What a useless company
What a useless company, as useless as the phone company using them . So exhausting. They take your credit card so that they can take money out of your account, even after paying the required service fee for damaged phone. Yet I’ve paid more than 300$ in insurance fee. The worst part nothing works on their site. Nothing,I mean nothing. No human being. you speak to bots who cannot do anything for you, you chat with bots. Useless company. I’m porting to another network. This is bad, never seen anything like it
I lost my mobile phone
I lost my mobile phone, and I made a claim and I provided all documents that I was asked for like proof of purchase from the company that I bought the device from. I sent it alone with a proof of payment from my credit card statement that shows this transaction. they also asked for proof of usage from my network and proof of barring also from my network. moreover, I was asked for proof that I registered the phone lost at immobilise.com which I also did. I also provided all proof about the circumstances that lead to lost of the phone. I also provided proof of payment from the coffee shop I was in at that time. after providing all that I was asked to provide, they asked me for the company that I purchased device from its VAT registered number. I contacted the company, and they told that they are not VAT registered as they are not required by law to be registered as their turnover is below the minimum required. I contacted the insurance and I informed them and they sent me an email after that, that all the documents that I sent it to them were accepted except the proof of purchase because the company that I purchased the device was "not reputable retailer'' which is really funny. I contacted the shop and they basically laughed as they are registered company with a legal licence to sell new and used phones and they have full trading license. I have been its customers for many years. their customers reviews online is perfect with 4.4 rate out of 5 on google review unlike Likewise which has very bad review 1.4 stars out of over 700 reviews. their reviews are really appealing. I contacted them and I raised a complaint however they still insist in their position.
Is this company a scam? £248 paid, repair refused, and they kept the entire amount – no work done at all
I booked a repair through SamsungRepair.com (run by Likewize) for two straightforward issues on my phone: battery and headphone-jack replacement. I paid £248 upfront, including a £59 call-out fee.
The technician arrived more than an hour late and then refused to carry out any of the repairs I had already paid for unless I agreed to buy an extra repair I never requested. I made it clear I wanted to proceed with the original work only and fully accepted any risks but he still refused to do the job.
When I contacted customer service the next day, I was told they would not refund the call-out fee, even though no repair was performed and the refusal was entirely their decision.
As of posting this review, they have kept the full £248 despite doing no work whatsoever.
This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise others to be very cautious when using this service.
Terrible company
Terrible company, it takes 48hours or more to get a response through the app and it’s been almost 3 weeks back and forth. My screen has smashed and water got into the phone, they said they would replace but require receipt. Provided it and then they wanted proof of usage from network provider provided that and now they said they need a picture of the side of the box??? Why I don’t know but I think I have got rid of the box after I opened it. Now I’ve been reading all their reviews and worried it might be an excuse now not to repair/exchange the phone.
WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
I can't go lower than a 1 else I would.
WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
By far and away, one of the worst experiences I have had with any company, ever.
No transparency, incredibly poor customer service, waiting days and days for manager call backs. Lost device. Poor posting instructions(make sure you get a tracking ID from the post office as they will refuse to help you without this and do not make this clear anywhere!). Poor English speakers. Incorrect information again and again depending on who you managed to speak to. Outright refusal to acknowledge or open any complaints.
There is something very dodgy and suspect about this company.
Argos, you should be ashamed for partnering with Likewize and putting your customers through this experience.
Much better options out there, do not be fooled by Likewize.
Read other reviews before using Likewize!
You have been warned.
Sent an S24 ultra via EE trade in
Sent an S24 ultra via EE trade in, 3 months later I get a bill for £650. Apparently didn't receive the phone, so when I proved that not also I did but it was signed for at the other end they made out it wasn't the phone I was meant to send. In process of taking it further....why EE deal with these idiots i do not understand.
Likewize steals phone
Sent Likewize an iPhone 14 Pro Max 512 GB (Gold Color) from Germany via their Apple trade-in program. Entered my banking details in the form when signing up, so I know they have my IBAN number. They received the phone on 16. September 2025 and confirmed the value the same day. They confirmed the same value they initially offered me: 525 Euros.
Status in my account since that day says: "Bank transfer will be processed shortly".
As of today, 3. October 2025, I have still not received payment for the phone. There is still no sign of a bank transfer. I have sent Likewize multiple emails and they have still not responded after over a week.
The Likewize trade-in program is a scam and Likewize is a criminal company that just steals people's phones via their fraudulent trade-in program, and does not pay people. Avoid!!
Garbage Insurance. Directly lied on three occasions
I have been unknowingly paying $9 a month to Likewize through Freedom Mobile insurance since my Galaxy Note 4 which I have not had in 10 years. I went to get a new phone when my Motorola screen got smashed. Freedom staff said I have insurance. I was not even aware. I made a claim and they said no problem but delayed 1 week, then 3 weeks , then 5 weeks , all the time saying it was being processed. Then an email saying it was denied with no reason given. This insurance is garbage.
Awful Con
Awful process - sent xbox which was working but with a potential fault. Based on that evidence they gave a trade in value of £70. Then came back with an offer of £0 and no explanation of the additional faults found - this section was left blank!!!
Terrible terrible terrible company
Terrible terrible terrible company. Have never seen anything like it. Fix my phone same day but messed up the address on the return label. My phone has been sitting fixed un a ups building 20 mins away from me for a week and a half now. I cant pick it up myself because of shipper restrictions and i have emailed likewise 5 days straight with no reply and no fix. I finally got them on the phone yesterday and they made a ticket that will take an additional 1 to 2 business days if they can even process that in a timely manner. Terrible service, very unprofessional and bothing against the person but i could barely understand them and they could really understand me either. Never want to deal with these guys again.
Do not buy anything from Newegg that has this warranty attached to it.
Bought a new computer from new egg had it about 45 days. Had a serious issue with it. I returned it to new eggs warranty company “likewize” I sent them several emails in the beginning. No one ever responded to me after approximately two weeks. I get an email with some sort of digital debit card. They did not even include the sales tax that I paid on the computer. The card is useless trying to use it online. No one will accept it. Tried to use the grocery store,They won’t accept it. Try to add it to my Apple wallet and PayPal. wallet, say the card is invalid. Now they won’t even answer my emails. I was expecting my refund on the purchase to be applied to my credit card. They refuse to do that. I’ve already bought another computer. I don’t need the card anyway I need the money back in my account. Tomorrow I will reach out to the Texas banking regulation agency and hope they can help me otherwise I’m just screwed out of 1200 plus dollars!
