Booked an early reassurance scan as my partner and I were over the moon about our first pregnancy and wanted to make sure everything was okay. First appointment came along everything was fine, placement of the baby was fine, however I was 2/3 weeks earlier than expected so only a yolk sac and gestational sac was seen and was told I was only 4/5 weeks, I’d booked this appointment assuming I was 7 weeks. Very kindly the team booked me in 2 weeks later for free to enable to see the baby. We went to this appointment 2 weeks later and I was measuring 6 weeks and 3 days, everything was measuring well but unfortunately they could not see a heart beat. My partner and I were extremely upset at this point as you could imagine, the sonographer and the chaperone looked frightened as if they’ve never dealt with this situation before (which was not reassuring for either of us), had no remorse for me or my partner as was told she didn’t hear a heart beat on her child until 9 weeks and was told to abort the baby up until that point, she gave me some tissue to wipe my tears and told me to get changed and they’d rebook another appointment in 5 days. Both appointments we attended were running late and had to wait over 20 minutes each time, both times no one apologised for the delay. I wasn’t happy going back to this company so booked another appointment else where 4 days later, I explained the situation to the new company and they advised me to call the early pregnancy team for advise. Explained the situation to the early pregnancy team and they told me that I should have been referred to the hospital straight after the last scan I had and I shouldn’t have been left to wait for 5 days. Unfortunately, the hospital confirmed that I had a missed miscarriage as there was no heart beat resulting in surgery. We were also told by the hospital that the yolk sac was too big and the baby was not measuring where it should be as I should have been about 8 weeks pregnant. The nurse at the hospital said that she would have been concerned at the first appointment when I was measuring at 4/5 weeks as I should have been further along going off my dates (there was no mention of any concern at little stars).
I wouldn’t personally use this company or recommend anybody else to. The lack of reassurance , compassion and empathy shown was very poor. Personally I feel that staff should to be trained on how to deal with breaking bad news. I felt like our agony was prolonged because the staff here were incompetent.

We would like to address the concerns raised in your review:
1- Your first scan findings:
At your initial appointment, the scan showed a gestational sac and yolk sac, which can be normal in a very early pregnancy. Based on the measurements seen on scan, the pregnancy appeared earlier than expected. This can happen for several reasons, including later ovulation or implantation than calculated by dates alone. At approximately 4–5 weeks, it is often too early to confirm fetal heartbeat or make any definitive conclusion regarding viability, as many factors must be taken into consideration before making a diagnosis.
2- The complimentary rescan:
We offered you a complimentary rescan two weeks later to provide further reassurance and allow time for development that would hopefully provide clearer answers. This was done in good faith and with the intention of supporting you through the uncertainty.
3- Your second scan findings and reason for further rescan:
At your second appointment, we were able to see clear growth compared to your previous scan, and a fetal pole was present, which are positive developmental signs. While cardiac activity is often seen at this stage, in some cases the heartbeat can start later than expected or may not yet be clearly visible depending on fetal position, equipment, or gestational timing.
In line with our referral policy, where there is clear interval growth between scans, we do not make an immediate final diagnosis without further verification. For this reason, we offered you a further complimentary rescan within 5 days to assess for any further development and come to a clearer conclusion. This is standard practice to avoid giving incorrect or premature information, and the reason for the rescan is always explained fully in the scan room.
4- Referral to hospital / Early Pregnancy Unit:
As an independent Ultrasound scan clinic, Where viability is uncertain, our role is to refer patients to contact their GP, midwife, or local Early Pregnancy Unit for further medical management. We are sorry if this was not clearly communicated to you at the time.
5- Comments regarding the yolk sac and measurements:
Interpretation of early pregnancy scans can vary depending on equipment, scan quality, gestational development, and the clinician reviewing the images. The hospital team may have had additional clinical information and performed a diagnostic medical scan, which differs from a private reassurance scan. At 4–5 weeks, no professional can definitively confirm viability or non-viability based on one scan alone without considering multiple clinical factors.
6- Compassion and empathy shown:
We are truly sorry to hear that you felt the team lacked compassion and empathy during such a difficult moment. We respectfully do not recognise this description of the care provided, as our team always aims to support patients with compassion, empathy, and professionalism, especially in emotionally sensitive situations. We always strive to provide the best possible care and support to every patient.
7- Appointment delays:
We apologise that your appointments ran behind schedule and that this was not acknowledged at the time. Due to the nature of scanning appointments, delays can occasionally occur when patients require additional time, care, or emotional support. While we do our best to remain on schedule, patient care must always come first.
Please accept our sincere condolences once again. We are truly sorry for the heartbreak you have experienced and appreciate your feedback, which will help us review and improve our service.

Over the last five months I have visited the clinic around 5 times for two different pregnancies with two different outcomes.
Regardless of the outcomes lesley and the team were amazing.
Not only are they lovely, they actually explain what they can see and are very professional making you feel at ease.
They are super welcoming and remember things about personal life (going on holidays / the dog / what you have been up to) which is such a lovely personal touch.
I would recommend going to this clinic, the visits have tremendously helped with my anxiety.

I visited Little Stars for an early…
I visited Little Stars for an early reassurance scan at 8 weeks and had a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, the reception staff were so welcoming and made me feel at ease. The sonographer, Lesley, was incredibly professional and took the time to explain everything we were seeing, from the flicker of the heartbeat to the baby's position. It was such a relief to have everything explained so clearly during an anxious time. The images were crystal clear, and we loved being able to take home some prints. Highly recommend to anyone looking for peace of mind!"

Amazing gender scan🤍
Had a wonderful gender scan. The clinic is spotless and incredibly welcoming. Lesley was really informative and explained everything that she was showing us really clearly. The scan photos are fantastically clear and we all in all had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back for a 4D scan!🤍

Early reassurance scan
Went for a reassurance scan at 7 weeks pregnant. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Even offered us a bottle of water and a chocolate on arrival. The scan room was inviting and was made to feel at ease the whole way through, having everything explained to us in detail. We will be returning here for more scans and would definitely recommend. An amazing experience today at our early reassurance scan. The clinic is so calm, clinic and comfortable. All staff are very friendly and we felt looked after and not rushed at all. The staff seemed genuinely happy for us and explained everything so well. Would not hesitate to go back.

Worth every penny for reassurance
Visited 3 times. The last time being yesterday when I experienced a scare/ some spotting. I got a same day appointment within a few hours. Staff sensitively handled my situation. They were lovely and patient with me giving a thorough reassurance scan, checking if I wanted to know/ see anything else and thankfully everything was ok. Worth every penny for piece of mind and not having to wait. Thank you

Exceptional Care and Stunning Baby Images
I recently volunteered for a 4D scan at the clinic as part of their CPD session, and I had such a wonderful experience.
The sonographers — Leslay, Ayesha, Madiha, Huma and Asma — were incredibly professional, kind, and reassuring throughout. They made sure to follow all safety guidelines during the session, which gave me complete peace of mind. Even though several sonographers scanned me as part of their training, everything felt well-organised, respectful, and carefully managed.
Despite having an anterior placenta and being 31 weeks pregnant, they still managed to capture some really beautiful and clear pictures of my baby, which I know isn’t always easy — I was so impressed and grateful!
A special mention to Leanne at reception — she was absolutely amazing and made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived.
The clinic was very clean and beautifully set up, with a big screen that made seeing my baby even more special. The lighting for the gender reveal was stunning — even though I already knew the gender, they still made it feel extra magical and memorable.
I received lots of gorgeous pictures and was able to download my video and images afterward, which I’m so grateful for. Overall, it was such a positive, professional, and heartwarming experience. I would highly recommend Little Starts 4D Scans to anyone considering a scan! Thank you Guys--- Your Team is PERFECT! 🤗

This is by far the best scan clinic I…
This is by far the best scan clinic I have ever visited and I’ve had 4 pregnancies I wish I found it sooner! Last August I visited another scan clinic who basically said sorry too early go home I was in and out in 4 mins, so I had a look on Google for a scan clinic that offered internal scans and here I found little stars 4D, they managed to get me in the same day, the receptionists were so inviting and lovely! I went into the scan and again nothing was to be seen it was called a blighted ovum ( empty sac) they explained it may be too early and offered me a rescan in 2 weeks which is amazing! So again I visited 2 weeks later still nothing to be seen so they called the early pregnancy unit on my half an arranged everything for me which was so lovely.
I have now fell pregnant again and had my first 6 week scan where again I was greeted with lovely receptionists and the sonographer went through every little detail to make sure everything was ok.
I highly recommend little stars and I cannot wait for my future visits for this pregnancy.
