Please don't book Ede and Ravenscroft for photos

Worth having a look at Ede and Ravenscroft's trustpilot reviews before you book them for next year's graduation photos. Photo availability need not be part of the gown-provision monopoly, and imagine the disappointment for your students when the pics turn out to be inaccessible or poor quality.

Terrible!

I'm an ex-student in this university and it really turned into a university of poo like its name. The toilets stink and you can tell what the person ate just by the aromatic stench of death that emanates upon the students' exit. I can declare with confidence that even the room freshener turns into a catalyst in making the smell worse

Hello,

Hello,

I am a former student of the University of Liverpool’s EdD program and am currently dealing with some issues regarding the management and delivery of the program, particularly with how it was run through Laureate Education. I would like to know if any other students have experienced similar concerns, particularly in the following areas:

Transparency of Program Operations: Were you aware that Laureate was managing much of the program’s delivery? Did you find that the relationship between Liverpool and Laureate was made clear during your enrollment process?

Instructor Turnover and Qualifications: Did you experience frequent turnover of instructors or feel that the staff lacked the qualifications necessary to effectively support your academic progress?

Financial Transparency: Did you encounter issues with tuition fees, unexpected additional costs, or discrepancies in how fees were handled during or after the transition from Laureate to Kaplan (if applicable)?

Program Quality: Were you satisfied with the structure, support, and quality of the EdD program? Did you feel that the online structure and staff support were conducive to your success?

Course Closure Communication: Were you properly informed about any changes or closures of the program?

I’m interested in hearing from other students who may have experienced similar issues, as I’m looking to collect evidence that could support my complaint regarding the program's operations.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences. Your feedback will help me understand if these issues were isolated or part of a broader pattern.

Hello all,

I was a student in the University of Liverpool’s EdD program, which was operated in partnership with Laureate Education. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had expected when I enrolled, and I’m now in the process of addressing these issues with the university and the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).

I am reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues with the program, particularly around these key areas:

1. Lack of Transparency About Laureate’s Role
From the beginning, it was not made clear to me that Laureate, a for-profit entity, would be heavily involved in running the program. All the promotional materials were branded as if the program was purely a University of Liverpool initiative. I only later realized that many critical aspects—like hiring instructors and managing the curriculum—were handled by Laureate. This has left me feeling misled about the nature of the program and the quality control behind it.

2. High Turnover of Instructors and Lack of Support
Throughout my time in the program, I experienced a frequent turnover of instructors, many of whom were not full-time staff or adequately qualified for doctoral-level supervision. This created inconsistencies in the feedback I received, and I often felt that I was not being given the guidance necessary to successfully progress. I am curious if others faced similar issues with staff rotation or felt unsupported during their studies.

3. Tuition and Fee Issues
After transitioning from Laureate to Kaplan, I encountered several issues with tuition fees and billing. There were unexpected charges, and I never felt that the transition was explained clearly. Has anyone else experienced problems with tuition or unexpected costs in the program, especially during the handover from Laureate to Kaplan?

4. Quality of the Online Learning Experience
Overall, I felt that the program lacked the academic rigor and structure I had expected from an EdD at a prestigious institution like the University of Liverpool. The online format, combined with frequent instructor changes, made it difficult to feel engaged or confident in my academic progress. Did others feel that the quality of the course delivery was below expectations?

5. Poor Communication Regarding Course Changes
At one point, I found out that the program was being closed to future applicants, but this wasn’t communicated clearly to me or my cohort at the time. Has anyone else been affected by a lack of communication regarding important changes or closures within the program?

I am currently pursuing a formal complaint regarding these issues, and I believe it would be helpful to hear from others who may have had similar experiences. If you faced any of these challenges or have other concerns about the program, please share your story. Your feedback will help me—and possibly others—navigate this process and seek the accountability that students deserve.

Thank you for your time and support!

Waste of money and time !!!

Waste of money and time !!!! The worst university you can go to. Instead of real quality studies, you get political propaganda . The tutors have zero clue about the material you’re taught . The content is superficial . It’s such a waste of money ! I had to withdraw as I find it completely bizarre my time and money to be wasted in such way . The administration is clumsy, digitally illiterate and disrespectful. Save your money , go somewhere else in Europe to study . It’s a total waste and a very bad performing circus 🤡!!!!!

University of Liverpool online learning master degree course

As a recent student of the University of Liverpool’s master’s program, I feel compelled to share my experience, particularly regarding the course content and teaching methods.

The university, while prestigious and having a rich history, fell short of my expectations in its master’s program. The core issue I faced was the overly basic nature of the teaching content. For a program designed for postgraduate studies, I anticipated a more advanced and challenging curriculum. Instead, the content provided seemed more suited to undergraduate level, lacking the depth and complexity one would expect at a master’s level.

Additionally, the webinars conducted as part of the course were disappointing. They failed to enhance my understanding of the subject matter. The webinars seemed more like a formality rather than a meaningful part of the learning process, offering little in the way of engaging or deepening my comprehension of the course content.

However, the expectations for module assignments did not align with the teaching. Assignments required an in-depth understanding and advanced application of the subject, which was challenging to achieve given the basic level of the course material. This discrepancy between the taught content and the expected level of assignment work was a significant source of frustration.
