Incompetent - dont order!

I ordered an item and waited almost 2 months for delivery, at which time the wrong item was delivered. After waiting another 2 weeks after sending it back, I was informed they don't actually stock the item and refunded me. However, the item remains on their website for the next sucker - they probably hope people will just accept the cheaper product and not return it. Don't order from Loot!

I wish I'd read up on Loot reviews before the time. It's the worst online order experience I've ever had.
They have absolutely no understanding of customer service! And when a cancellation if an item is done by them, which was obviously on the website at the time of ordering, there is no attempt to satisfy the customer!
First and last time of ordering from them.

Terrible Aftersales Service!!

I wish I had actually researched this company before purchasing. After ordering and waiting an additional 2 weeks from the stated time of delivery, the unit I received did not perform anywhere close to the stated description on their site. TheD-Link DAP-1325 N300 Wi-Fi Range Extender was purported to deliver up to 300Mbps and since my routers speed (also a D-Link is 250Mbps I expected to at least receive the same speed, however the unit only provides 25Mbps. Upon trying to refund the item (on the very same day I received it) I was met by extreme resistance and told that there would be additional courier charges as well as a 20% handling fee as the package was opened.
Lesson learnt, never buy from Loot.co.za again and hopefully my review will help others from falling into this trap.

Delays, poor customer service

I placed an order and was told shipping would take 4 days. It is now 2 weeks later and my order is still on outstanding. I have had no communication from them regarding the delay and am still waiting for them to reply to my email. It was an expensive order over R6500, now I'm starting to wonder if I've been ****med. Rather go to takealot they are efficient with quick delivers and excellent customer support.

Avoid using Loot at all costs. Worst online shopping experience to date.

I placed an order, and paid via their Ozow payment portal, but a glitch occurred on Loot's site, so the order wasn't registered. I checked my bank account and the payment did go through, so I engaged one of their chat support agents. The 'support' received was superficial and disinterested, and the agent then instructed ME to follow up with Ozow, despite the fact that Ozow's mandate is with Loot, not the customer. Regardless, I followed up with Ozow myself, immediately received confirmation that my payment was received and transferred to Loot, passed this information on to Loot myself, and still no feedback. If Loot were a well-run and trustworthy company, I would expect the response on this issue to be urgent and highly apologetic.

This service is poorly run and unprofessional, and I am now concerned that I not only won't receive my order in time, but may now also have my work cut out receiving a refund from this useless company.

Very disappointed. I'll be searching for a regulatory body to report Loot to.

No wonder people do not read anymore, You place an order in advance and they just move the delivery date along as they please. Almost a month later and they have only excuses and solutions. Wont order from them again, that is certain.

Delivery was delayed 3 times

Delivery was delayed 3 times and when I was told it was finally on the way, I was going to be unable to receive it as I would be out of town. So Andrea "arranged" for delivery to be delayed until the 26th, but despite this, the product was delivered while I was not at home. I have bought from Loot several times, but this was the last time. These days there are many alternatives. They don't reply to emails or when they do, it is to say that they have received the mail and someone will address my concerns shortly. Which never happens.

Late Deliveries

On a number of occasions I have I ordered a book, the delivery time advertised at most is a week or two, however once you've paid, all of a sudden the delivery time is extended, then when that date is due to expire and the books haven't arrived the date is once more extended.
The delay in getting the order to me cancels the benefit of the discounted price

first-time buyer from loot. I bought a computer and Tsotsi textbooks, it took 2 weeks for them to arrive and I always got an update about my order so I wouldn't worry. Thank you Loot for being legit.

My delivery address went back to a…

My delivery address went back to a default after a first payment attempt failed. I notified Loot immediately after the order was placed that the delivery address needed to be changed and they confirmed that the change was made on the first business day after the order was made. The lead time on the order of 2 school subject guides was extremely long and after the items was finally shipped it was shipped to the wrong address. There was no way to track the delivery and I had to email them to find out that the delivery was sent to the wrong address. After this they left it to me to resolve the issue on my own and took no responsibility for the error.

LOOT feels not responsible for what they sell.

They sold me a Western Digital NAS that upon arrival could not and will not ever work because the firmware that is on it is too old to ever be updated to the current firmware, wich is needed for it to work as it should.

On top of that, after contacting WD with this problem, it was discovered that the unit is already out for warranty for 3 (!) years. Wich means it has been on the shelf for about 5 years.

LOOT does not seem to take any responsibility whatsoever and claims to have it send back to the supplier ' for investigation'. This was 6 weeks ago.

Meanwhile I'm not getting my money back untill their supplier gives a verdict. Did I buy from LOOT or from their supplier???? I want my money back !!!!

Never again!

Bad Service

Loot simply doesn't respond to any mails. A mail was sent on Thursday, now we are Monday and still no response.

I purchased a product on 24 Nov 2023, it stated a shipping period of 11-20 working days, this therefore makes the delivery 27 Dec 2023. I am being told that the item will only be delivered on 02 Jan 2024!

Considering all these factors, I will NOT be ordering from Loot again

Should be minus 5 stars. Waited 22 days for my order (3 books thats available in every single bookstore) to finally be sent to me, and then the parcel goes missing, after another 8 days. Now I have to wait again for them to decide how they are going to handle this...who knows? Service is a disgrace....rather make use of takealot. Wish I read the reviews on hellopeter before I ordered

Item availability issues every single time

Every single time we have ordered books online at Loots we have had major issues - lead times of 5-10 working days turn into a month EVERY SINGLE TIME. No follow up with the customer when there are these sort of delays, not even an automated message to let one know. It is not a once off either - every order we have placed, we wait a month or more for the books to be sent, when we have specifically ordered them timeously for bookclub. If the books are coming from international suppliers and there could be delays, rather give a more realistic lead time (15-20 days for example) to ensure that any delays (which there seem to be ALL THE TIME) are accounted for. Very unimpressed!
