Needs Improved Customer Relations.
After having purchased a collectors book from Magus Books in Seattle, that was not disclosed as a Remainder book, and agreeing to a $10.00 refund for the incorrect advertising, I noticed the cover of the Dust-jacket had been lightly oiled to make the colors pop. The oil rainbows were clearly visible between the Dust Jacket, and the Mylar Protective Sleeve.
It took me hours to properly clean the book and ensure it would incur no more damage. I reported this to AbeBooks, who notified Hannah at Magus Books Seattle.
What I assumed was just a bad day for her, turned out to just be her attitude in general. I will not do business with this vendor again when seeking a rare book.
I place much emphasis upon buying collectors edition books for beloved ones. I would hope vendors I buy from would treat a customer with at least a modicum of respect
