My situation I thought was at the point of no return but Samir helped me out and reached an out of court settlement.

I contacted Samir for a fare evasion case.I put all my hopes to Manak solicitors since Samir proud of himself to write good letters. I spent nearly 2k among first interview, 2 letters and a therapist assessment. The case failed as TFL said there was not enough proof and my case was not of a warning. At the end i went to court myself and got a criminal record plus a generous penalty to pay. It ended up i spent nearly 3k. He probably could have done more in my opinion, he took 5 days to write a letter and he won't write 2 lines without a full payment. If he gives 45% of hope, you might also sort this yourself going to court anyway. The judge did not even look at the paper he wrote for me. Make sure you think wisely before seeking help as you did not kill anybody at the end. I read all the successful cases here and probably something went wrong with me or i was unlucky.

AVOID - an awful, panic-inducing experience with Manak Solicitors.

After not being able to get through I got a call back from Samir Moftah who straight away was incredibly rude. He asked for a quick overview, then in the middle of me giving him that he interrupted me to say I'd had it/was finished when I told him I had already entered a guilty plea and the timeframe had passed. This of course induces panic to anyone not wanting a criminal record. He then continued to interrupt me at every single possible opportunity, instructing me to email the court myself to withdraw my plea, hope my case hadn't been reviewed yet and to call him back.

To anyone reading this, before you think to engage with a "train fare solicitor" make sure you have emailed the prosecutions department of the train company first (you'll find emails online) to settle out of court. I feel that they prey on the nervous people like myself who panic when faced with this situation, who are then relieved and grateful to pay hundreds of pounds for the service. And if you do use one, DEFINITELY do not use Samir Moftah, who's favourite line seemed to be "this is why you consult solicitors, not forums". Turns out it was using the forums that helped me settle my matter and I didn't have to part with any money to frankly what I would consider to be a bully.

It was a friend's recommendation, and, while the whole process was quite stressful (after all, you usually do not do things requiring Solicitors every day!) the support and readiness to walk extra mile provided by these people made things much easier.
Will definitely use them next time and recommend to the friend.
