Once again the manager alley from Bellmore Mavis came through once again I called her yesterday I was in the major Rush told her I was going to be in the first one this morning on Saturday she came in early. I had a problem with my AC was going to a wedding and her and the mechanic worked on my vehicle I was in and out in an hour that location is amazing thanks to Allie

Bamboozled in Bellmore

Went for an inspection.was outrageously billed a few bucks short of 1200 in supposed necessary repairs based on a review of vehicle. Bill stated on a bunch of lines that I requested for things to be checked that I NEVER requested or complained there might be an issue with. I asked for old parts to be returned and was told they had already had gone to scrap person. The first phone call was to tell me I needed new Wiper Blades or I would fail inspection. Wiper blades were maybe 6 months old but ok I said. The car supposedly had to go through a very time consuming all encompassing check .So ok confident in car to not have any real issues as it is very well maintained and was driven less than 2500 miles since my last inspection which easily passed. Now I needed Schocks to pass?? Ok how much it is a 2012 Audi A4 with 90000 miles. 250 bucks a schock and free labor. Schocks retail at 60 bucks each.mine were replaced last summer at a mere fraction of this price. Supposedly one had completely seized I was given that part back on the top it was pointed out it was dented which it was a brand new dent as the metal had zero rust on dent. I mentioned that and was then told it may have been dented when it was tossed in garbage. Ok so the story continues schocks were less than a year old , I was then told it must have failed..Ok then I was told I needed back brakes and rotars ( never got old parts back) but Again reluctantly said ok. So now I was given a free brake fluid flush with that big bill. Now my tires they were purchased in 2015 and I knew one tire clearly had metal showing on inside oft-repeated Car won't pass..ok I already knew I needed a tire if not 4 but guess what that factor of a failed tire would be overlooked as I assured the "inspector" of my status on purchasing tires. Now I was about to be pushed in to purchase of tires, but I had particular ones from Tire Rack that I wanted. So an automatic inspection safety thing would be overlooked as long as I did all the other repairs right then, feeling overwhelmed and pushed I agreed to repair as I was assured repeatedly that the prices were very fair I was getting a supposed great deal on other stuff . So then I was called for payment which I said when I pick up car and old parts I would give credit card on that day. That was rebutted by I can't do that it has to be paid now on Friday because too many flags would go up if I paid in person the next day because "inspector" wouldn't be there and it would set off red flags
. Again feeling pressured I reluctantly gave my Visa number was never asked for expiration date or 3 digit code and I was quickly pushed off phone. So ling story short is car should have failed as a camera will show because of tire not any of the other stuff but I was steamroller vulnerable and it all started with without wipers I would fail. My report will be compiled as I have video of the car being worked on reviewed and a bald metal showing tire that would be acceptable If I did all the other things. This will surely be a case were the inspection license for the location could be revoked based on the many things I have revealed and also dialogue with other staff members who easily stated what was done was wrong they were just following "inspection techs orders" even they pointed out if anything the tire should have failed the car and it was the real concern. I will file with Visa a complaint and contact corporate as well as make report of the unsavory behavior by Inspector. I understand they're under a lot of pressure to meet certain quotas but it doesn't need to be on the back of a customer who clearly did not need the things that they were pushed into buying all the names of safety and getting an inspection sticker. I did ask to be treated a little bit Kinder and for the prices to be drastically changed and will give that opportunity one more time before I pursue with this but for now stay the hell away from this place unless you plan on spending over $1,000 including that new pair of wipers so you can pass inspection
