I had the same response as Cale…

I had the same response as Cale regarding a refund at Wangara, they had a drum stool on sale and I was overcharged around $30 and when I questioned it the manager said it will be back in my account in around 3 days, two weeks later still waiting.
I called to ask about it and the response was well get back to you
If I walked in and took something and walked out thats theft so what's the difference about overcharging and not refunding.
The other times buying guitars and a drum set over the years has been nothing but problems but unfortunately they have the monopoly in the wanneroo/joondalup area

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We have investigated this for you and have found that everything was processed correctly. The refund was issued on the 4th of April and finalised on the 9th of April. It was charged back to the original payment method used to purchase the item which was a Visa card. We suspect it may be an issue with the bank. We are more than happy to help you resolve this and provide more information such as a receipt, refund number or transaction ID. Great staff and customer service!

I had a great experience with the Mega Music staff. They were happy to help out and make sure my issues were resolved...I'll just say there was an issue where I thought I'd better return an order I had made (careful of 'Pay in 4' transactions that overdraw your bank account - I don't think the bank should allow it if they're going to reverse the transaction in a couple of days. I'm fine with getting enough money to fulfill orders such as mine here so I just assumed this would be fine once, however I had this problem, so I just warn about that as well...)...then a staff member ended up doing me a personal favour by redelivering my unit himself yesterday evening after I fixed everything about the PayPal issue - I rate the customer service highly and look forward to many years of recordings with my purchase from Mega Music! Thanks and Cheers.

I bought a guitar that was missing the…

I bought a guitar that was missing the whammy bar but was assured they would order one and let me know when it arrived. That was back in April 2025, it's now February 2026 and I still haven't got it. I've followed up multiple times and have been told it's on order still until finally just last week it was apparently in the store but out the back, and that he'd look for it in the morning and get back to me. I also followed up via the website chat system, yet absolutely no response. Checking the website for one shows the product is in stock and in store, so why is nobody calling me to come pick it up before some other moron sells it?

Don’t fulfill orders or refunds

I ordered in an expensive guitar case into the store and was told it would take 2 weeks. However after a month and a half I had heard nothing, only to find out they had changed my order to a case at a lower price and did not tell me or refund me. I asked for a full refund but after two weeks I still haven’t received it. I personally would not order again as this seems to me like a scam.

staff that are slow in the head

honestly i think about 90% of the people that work here are basically useless, the most basic things like tuning a guitar but completely failing to even get it remotely close to in tune, you work at a guitar store and play guitar and you cant even tune a guitar properly, i watched the guy do it right in front of me and tell me he will put it in tune and then completely mess it up. not only that but things just take forever and then its not even done correctly and I've had to take it back it, yes i could learn how to do it my self but do i want to?, no i don't want to and id rather have a professional do it but clearly most of the people working here have no clue what they are doing, even stuff like i put my guitar in to be serviced or fixed and its not even done two weeks later and no it was not in a busy time of the year. honestly just fix your crap. and this is the mega music at Wangara specifically.

Liam the Luthier Legend!

Liam, the Myaree store’s luthier, is a legend! He was amazing helping me fix up a vintage bass guitar. Months later I came into the store and he remembered my name, bass, and the repairs he did. He helped me with another project and even gave me advice on how to fix things at home on a budget! This man is a life saver!!

I purchased a column PA on the weekend

I purchased a column PA on the weekend. I received a call from them saying that ‘the last one’ had just been bought before I did. This was not mentioned online.
Companies should honour what they provide . I have been a loyal customer for years. I will now look elsewhere for music products. This is highly disappointing and unprofessional.

Thank you for your reply. You have since offered me a discounted item as ‘recompense’ for this error. I am grateful for that and am pleased that you have extended this offer. At the time of my initial review, this was not the case. Thank you for amending this Mega Music. 👍🏻

I spoke to a rep over the phone and suggested they could have the online store reflect purchases and ‘out of stock’ items in ‘real time’.

Unfortunately, if two people order the same item at the same time and there is only 1 item in stock, one customer will inevitably be disappointed. For fifteen years I have purchased…

For fifteen years I have purchased all(except one) my guitar’s, etc, from Mega Music Myaree.
All ways greeted. All ways provided best advice and the luthiers there set my guitars perfectly.
A great community service from these guys.

New guitar

The staff were, as always, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The guitar I bought was the only one of that model left (a display model). When I got it home I realised that the strings were a bit grubby and worn so I asked if they could be changed. I received two prompt and courteous calls that they could, so I brought it in and it was done for me while I waited.
I am happy with the guitar - an Epiphone ES 339.
My only minor criticism is that as a demonstration model I could have been offered a small discount on the price.

New instrument purchase

I contacted Mega Music after searching internet quite extensively for a new instrument and had a conversation with Sam in the Myaree store.
He was very helpful and nothing seemed to be 'too much trouble' really. It was a very positive experience and following some additional detail being organised i committed to purchase and paid a deposit.
The instrument was 'back ordered' and has been delivered this morning, on the other side of the country. It is a beautiful instrument and has been an aspirational purchase for some considerable time now.
On each occasion I spoke with Sam he was excellent and very helpful. Several months have passed in the 'back order process' and he has always been very pleasant helpful and co-operative ! He hasn't had a bad day observationally, though that is far more likely a reflection of his attitude and nature than the realities of life and customer service.
I cannot thank Sam enough for his co-operative and pleasant, informative and very helpful demeanour and for his excellent assistance in the purchase of this guitar.
Mega Music is an excellent business indeed and Sam is a great asset in the provision of excellence that seems to typify Mega Music. It has me wishing we lived on the other side of the country a 'fair bit ...' actually.
I can't really overstate my satisfaction with my transaction with Mega Music, nor do I think i could recommend them too highly either !
An excellent experience indeed ! I will be a returning customer for sure, and offer my highest recommendations to Mega Music and to Samuel too, for an excellent transaction !!
