I recently had cause to visit Moorgate Acoustics as i had experienced a problem with my Chord Mscaler. Not only did they resolve my issue ( nothing was too much bother for them) but they also arranged an audition for a pair of PMC active speakers for the next day .
Suffice to say that i ended up buying the latter, after an extensive listening session ( Many thanks Kev) and a very competitive price from Paul the manager.
To anyone serious about hi fidelity in South Yorkshire, i can recommend this business without ANY reservations . Top marks !

Used Moorgate many times but a recent visit to get my Rega amp repaired via the manufacturer under lifetime warranty was exceptional service indeed. Very helpful and professional throughout, hence highly recommended!

Having recently got back into my hifi, I've been to Moorgate to have my kit serviced and seek their advice on potential upgrades. They've been superb, no hard sell, just good old fashioned customer service, just like it should be.

The service provided by Moorgate Acoustics continues to be exemplary. I have purchased several items, both small and large, in the last 5 years transforming my main system into something special.
The 2 demonstration rooms and their willingness to let you try equipment at home is priceless when evaluating new equipment.
Paul Hobson and his team are honest, friendly, helpful people who are a delight to do business with. Trade-in prices are very fair.
I also buy vinyl albums from their shop, Wax, in the basement. They have a big selection of used vinyl and specialise in audiophile vinyl.

I’ve used Moorgate Acoustics since 1989. Bought my first decent hifi here, and a few years later I went back to upgrade. 25 years later still and I have just been back to improve my system once again.
Paul Hudson, the owner, loves music, and it is this that comes first. Generous with advice and keen to make sure the customer gets something they can enjoy, he is the epitome of an excellent curator of quality equipment.

I was not expecting much when I went looking for a new turntable from Moorgate as I thought most gear they would stock would be out of my price range.I was shown a rega turntable that I was allowed to play with for an hour or so and made the decision to buy.
Kev was very helpful and and now he has helped me try out some speakers which I bought as well.
New amplifier next so yes I will buy from Moorgate.

I was recently looking for a budget high quality CD player to match my new Hegel 390 DAC AMPLIFIER purchased from Moorgate a few months ago. Moorgate recommended I look at the outstanding AudioLab 6000 CDT Player. It was an amazing match the interconnect being a co- axial cable. Excellent sales team, very knowledgeable and experienced.

My experience of buying a number of items from Paul and team at Moorgate has been that they offer exemplary levels of support. They don't just take your money and run, they back up a sale with proper ongoing support.
I recently bought an amp that developed a fault (very unusual for this particular product) and Paul arranged to have it picked up by DPD next day, to go for repair. Unfortunately, DPD then proceeded to "lose" the parcel enroute back to Moorgate. However, Paul stepped up and offered me his shop demo unit as a replacement, while he sought to resolve the lost shipment issue with DPD (it eventually took 4 weeks for the missing amp to finally arrive at Moorgate !) That's what I call looking after your customer and why I will look to Moorgate when making my next upgrade.

I’ve shopped at Moorgate for over 30 years. Often infrequently, as I live 45 miles away, but that doesn’t change the warm welcome and sound advice I receive from Paul and the team.
Recently had my LP12 serviced and upgraded by them whilst I waited. Treated to a demo of anything and everything I was interested in with no pressure - the team just love to share their passion for high fidelity music reproduction.
The addition of Wax Records in the basement is another reason to visit. It’s a treasure trove of new and used vinyl and I usually pick up something to ‘test’ out my kit.

I have received great advice and fantastic customer service from Moorgate Acoustics on more than one occasion. This company is extremely well run and offers a wealth of experience and knowledge that is second to none. Hi fi can be a challenging hobby with so many choices but the Moorgate family will point you in the right direction with no pressure and sage advice.

Recently bought a Rega Planar 10 room these guys and was blown away with the knowledge, patience and friendliness of the team there. 100% recommend to anyone who loves music and wants to hear it at its best.

I first became a customer of Moorgate Acoustics back in the 80s. They are still around and have had many visits from me. My last purchase was an arm for my LP12. They are a very straight, honest and extremely knowledgeable on all things hi-fi.

Friendly and knowlagable team, always happy to give you as much listening time as you need, with advice not pressure. Great selection of first rate hifi kit, from budget to high end, great demo rooms. Cracking record store downstairs too. Very happy with my Hegel products.

I’ve bought various pieces of Hifi from a few different retailers over the years, but my first stop is always Moorgate, because the service is so good.

Paul and the team are unfailingly helpful and nothing is too much trouble - even when I feel would try the patience of a Saint!

Prices are always extremely competitive, as is their approach to part exchange. My last purchase was some speakers that I bought secondhand. They let me try them at home to make sure I was completely satisfied and found me a new set of spikes because the originals had gone AWOL.

Ive dealt with Moorgate for several years now and honestly, I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else. Ive gone from a very basic system to one that I couldnt even dream of.
