Wrong diagnosis twice!…
My under counter fridge stopped working in June. Mr. Appliance came, told us $1100 to repair. Three months later fridge stopped working again. Now they tell us $2000 to repair for a new compressor. Fridge is only six years old and cost less than $2000. Had the nerve to charge me a service fee. Now I’m out $1100!
Beginning of August called them up because my oven was not Warming up as it should. They came told me I need a whole new computer for $900. Charged me $185 service fee. I called up another company for a second opinion and they told me it was just the thermostat for less than $200. Rip off untrustworthy. company. Do NOT use!

NEVER NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. THE TECHNICIAN ON VISIT NUMBER 2 INSTALLED A MAINTENANCE KIT TO OUR DRYER THAT WAS WORKING FINE. HE SAID IT WOULD EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE DRYER. NOW IT SOUNDS LIKE A SHOE IS BOUNCING AROUND IN IT. AFTER 8 CALLS TO COMPANY NO ONE HAS RETURNED CALLS TO HAVE SOMEONE FIX IT. WE DIDN'T WANT THIS MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT AT FIRST BUT WERE TOLD BY JAMES, TECHNICIAN THAT WE HAD 5 DAYS TO CANCEL IF WE CHANGED OUR MIND. WE DID CHANGE OUR MIND BUT WHEN I CALLED TO CANCEL ,(WITHIN THE 5 DAYS) MR APPLIANCE SAID THEY WOULD DROP OFF THE PARTS THEY ORDERED AND CHARGE US A HANDLERS FEE AND THEY WOULD KEEP OUR MONEY. ****WE ARE OUT ALMOST $500!!!!***** SO LAME, WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS RIPS OFF PEOPLE AND THEN DOESN'T MAKE GOOD ON THEIR ERROR???? The Best Appliance Repair Place Ever
I just love these people that work for Mr. Appliance. They are so confident and kind. Matt Willis was beyond nice to me and my emotional support dog. Matt knew exactly what to do & it didn’t take long to get it done. He took time out to talk to me to explain what needed to be done and to just give my buddy a few pats too. Just the most compassionate young man. Ty to you, Matt for your help and Scrappy thanks you too. JM
$429 to replace an evaporator fan in 15min ?
We lost our refrigerator on a Friday evening and called Mr Appliance to effect a repair. They told me $135 for a diagnostic but that was "forgiven" if we went ahead with the repair estimate. They scheduled a service call for 10-12 PM Monday. Zach showed up shortly after 10 which was good. He did diagnosis a faulty evaporator fan and offered to replace it for a final total of $429. There was no offer to waive the service call fee. This part costs less than $50 and takes all of 15 minutes to replace. Obviously we did not accept the "estimate" to repair as it was totally out of line for the service that would have to be performed. Totally overpriced and no waiving of the service call fee. Then the invoice I was sent showed the repair estimate to be $392.73, not $429 that was another red flag. Beware of their shyster promises.

Our brand new Bosch dishwasher was not working and we were given Mr appliance name by Bosch customers service to call to have our dishwasher repaired. What a big mistake and a nightmare it was . Mr appliance sent a so called " technician" named Weston that was incompetent and useless . The first thing he asked when he arrived he wanted a cup of coffee ? How weird and how rude ! He managed to scratch our beautiful kitchen wood floor while pulling and placing our dishwasher upside down . ( Mr appliance should provide a mat to place the dishmachine on to prevent scratching our beautiful wood floor.) Weston had no clue what he was doing and was looking on Utube on his tablet on how to repair our brand new dishwasher. He then told us it was the heat pump that was bad and he ordered one . He came back a week later with a new heat pump and after replacing the heat pump our dishwasher was still not working . He then told us that it was the master board that was bad ! He then looks on his tablet and said that the master board has been discontinued and that we have to call Bosch customer service to give us a new dishwasher. He put the dishwasher back in it space but left the water hoses disconnected and the place was flooded under the kitchen sink cabinets and the floor. He left our kitchen a mess and in shambles. I had to go on my knees to clean up all his mess. A disgrace and unacceptable. He also left some parts of the machine on the floor and one of them was a round styrofoam part and he told me to throw it away . I did not listen to him and kept the part but he managed to damage a part of it ! I then called Bosch customer service and they gave me a different name and company and they were outstanding . Their technician was very knowledgeable and he did repair our machine up to our satisfaction . Night and day. They ordered the part ( that we were told were discontinued by Mr appliance technician and replaced the styrofoam disk that Mr appliance damaged and told me to throw away. That part is called a floater and is a key element of the function of the dishwasher. I would not recommend or using Mr appliance in any circumstances and stay away from them. Weston the technician is clueless , damaged our wood floor , left our kitchen flooded and a disgusting mess ! To add insult to injury they get paid by Bosch for the 2 visits and for their incompetence , not repairing my brand new dishwasher and damaging my wood floor , leaving my kitchen flooded and damaging part of my brand new dishwasher. I took pictures of the mess and damaged floor and sent it to Mr appliance and I also visited their office and talked with the lady that was seated at the desk. She offered to send a different technician and I declined the offer . I will never use or recommend Mr appliance .

Charged me almost $1600 and never completed compressor replacement. They make you sign a receipt when you pay them so they have you even if they don't complete the job. They are nothing but scam artists!!

If your time means anything to you, don't call Mr Appliance. On a Monday when my washer went out, I called and made an appointment over the phone with Dwayne for Wednesday morning. I expected a confirmation call on Tuesday with my 2 hour window. No call. Wednesday morning I call to see what time the technician will arrive and Dwayne tells me my appointment is on Thursday. I literally put the appointment IN MY PHONE CALENDAR while he made my appointment, plus i had an appointment Thursday for something else, so I know I didn't mess up. But I stay nice and ask 'what time Thursday? ' Dwayne tells me for the morning. Thursday by 10 when no one shows, I call again and am told my appointment is for the afternoon. The tech finally shows after 2pm and diagnoses the problem and orders the part. Tells me it will be in Friday or Monday and someone will call me to schedule for Monday or Tuesday.
No calls, so I call Monday afternoon. Dwayne tells me, yes, your part is in. I can scheduled you on Wednesday morning because Tuesday is full.
I call to confirm on Wednesday morning and I'm told "you're on the schedule for Thursday Morning" well guess what? Thursday morning when I call? Dwayne tells me I'm scheduled between 12-2. Definitely not morning. It's 2:15, I call Dwayne again only to be told the technician is on his way and it will be another 40 minutes. NEVER will I use or recommend.

We reached out to Mr Appliance because our Speed queens started staining our linens. They came out and did a service call to look at the issue and said that one of the parts in the machines is rusted and would need to be replaced.
This is where the lies started. Weeks start to go by and we are following up consistently with them to see what the delay is. After multiple calls they finally told us they were waiting on Speed Queen to approve the warranty claim and it was on hold until then. We then called Speed Queen to see what was going on and they told us that they had approved the claim 2 days after the initial service call. We called back to Mr Appliance again and were continued to give the run around making excuses about scheduling and telling us it was going to be 3-4 weeks until they could us on the calendar. At this point it has already been almost 2 months.
We asked to speak to a manager and told none was available. Shortly after the call we were sent a notification that they wouldn't be able to help us and left us hanging.
We called up Speed Queen for help with a new company and the rep at Speed Queen told us that Mr Appliance put in that the reason they couldn't help us is because we are a "car wash" which we are a single family home...
Just talk about the straight lying and dishonesty.

We called Mr. Appliance and Adam came out told us what was wrong and fixed my fridge right then and there ☺️ I am so thankful, he was honest and friendly and very knowledgeable about the appliances. They showed up an hour early and I had to leave work, refused to look at both of my appliances without an additional $90 on top of $120 even though I already paid them for a service call, then wanted $550 to replace a board on my stove that I had another company quote for $200. I was charged $129 for service call and all detected was pull a hose from my garbage disposal and said it needed to be cleaned out then tell me I need a pump. I'm not sure how to get that but that's all I really did and it would cost me another $390. The part itself only cost $83 has quite a markup don't you think?
$125 Diagnostic Charge just to overcharge you.
I'll start with if your thinking about using these guys, use Houston Appliance Repair Services (281-717-3493) instead. The diagnostic fee alone is $60, half the price of what Mr. Appliance charges, and they got there in a fraction of the time it took Mr. Appliance even with the 2 hour heads up they give you.
The guy got there opened my fridge, knew the evaporator fan was the issue and waited 2 hours for it to dethaw, which is all fair, then proceeded to look up the part, which he refused to give any number to even after i paid the diagnostic fee, and charge me $500 dollars for a new one (60-80 dollar part by the way that takes 2 minutes to change. Thanks HARS). He didn't take anything off the back or anything. The most he took off was the drawers which i ended up putting back because he was busy on his phone and that point i wanted him out.
My wife calls Houston Appliance Repair Services the very next day.
-They get to the house in a hour same day, it took mr. appliance 4.
-Guy gets in there sees its dethawed from the day before takes the back piece off no problem.
-See the only problem with the fan is that the sealing foam, When it gets water into it, has a nasty habit of blocking the evaporator fan. He tells us a common problem usually.
-He then informs us that Mr.Appliance has a nasty little reputation for overcharging and just in general being a awful ill-reputable business.
Where he could see them identifying the problem and upcharging us.
-Didn't charge us another dime for fixing it and gave us all the parts names and numbers.

Stay away. I had them out last week for two issues, water under the deli tray & a slowed ice maker. I was told after an inspection the ice maker was just fine so I ordered a repair & parts to improve drainage. After the visit, noticed the ice maker actually stopped working altogether & the fridge started making noises. Led me to cancel the repair as it was clear I needed a new fridge. That was something I had discussed at length with the repairman but he was adamant the ice maker was fine so the repair was the better decision. When I called to cancel & laughed at a $100 restocking fee for parts ordered less than 24 hours prior, the supervisor hung up on me. Had I had a more accurate inspection, the parts would have never been ordered so this review is solely on Mr. Appliance choosing to collect a $100 & dismiss me as a customer. They won't care about you & it's questionable how much they even know about appliances so again, stay away.
Just understand the process.
I have a range that had burner problems right after the warranty expired. I called Mr. Appliance of Durham NC to look at the range. The charge was $138 to sent a tech. Brandon, tech, was polite and knowledgeable. He figured out the problem, but needed parts for the repair. The parts were ordered, the repair was made. When I look at the one star ratings what I see are people who where upset with the service charge for coming to the house, even if a repair was not done. Well, someone cannot come out for free. If you go to a doctor and get a diagnosis but not a fix, you still pay. They credit the deposit toward your repair bill, so you are not being charged twice. The one stars should go to the customer, not Mr. Appliance.

I would give 0 stars if possible!! Came out here, shined their flashlight underneath my dishwasher, charged $127 for diagnostics while saying they didn't have the tools to fix! The diagnostic charge is waived if you let them fix the problem. These people dont want to fix the appliances! RIP OFFF...had to call someone else and it took them 2 minutes! They take your money for absolutely nothing!!

am urging you to please take caution if choosing to use this company. We called because our dryer was not heating. They sent out a technician, and after a few hours that he was here our dryer was able to get hot again, however upon running the dryer, it made a horrible grinding noise. When you started the dryer, it sounded as if an engine was starting and then upon running it would continue to grind. We called back the following day and they scheduled to send out a different technician. When the technician arrived, he let us know that the original technician majorly messed up and completely damaged the internal workings of our dryer. He said he would need to come back with parts to fix the mess that was created. During appointment number three the technician did not have the proper hardware needed to put in the new motor that was needed for our dryer. He left for about an hour and a half returned and tried to reassemble the dryer however, it sounded worse than it did the first time around and he told us we couldn’t use it until they returned. After this six hour appointment, they needed to reschedule another appointment. This time (now appointment number 4 a different technician came back with the first technician who damaged our dryer. The technician proceeded to belittle the original repair man while pulling apart, my dryer telling him all the things that he did wrong. At the end of that appointment they let us know that they needed to take parts of our dryer to work on and needed to come back a fifth time. Somewhere in between appointment three and four we spoke with the owner, and the owner made it abundantly clear that he was very annoyed by our situation and this was a very big headache to him and already cost him more money than it was worth. He wasn’t willing to replace our dryer and said he would settle by refunding us our original service fee that we paid to get the heating element fixed, but this something he doesn’t ever do. And he assured us that upon this 5th appointment things would be fine. The technician came back was here for less than an hour, Put the dryer back together and had us test it and everything sounded fine. That evening I ran a load of wash, put the clothes in, and immediately the grinding noise was back. When we called to speak to the owner again, we were told he wasn’t in. The following day we were told by the receptionist “we issued a refund we will no longer be working with you. If you need to go buy a dryer that’s on you. “ Prior to calling out this company we did not need to buy a new dryer. However, upon fixing our original issue, they created over $1000 worth of damage and now we are forced to buy a new dryer. The fact that this company has left us high and dry and let us know if that they’re no longer willing to work with us is absolutely deplorable. We have been more than understanding have cleared out multiple days of our schedule and have been without a dryer for a month. The fact that the owner couldn’t even speak to us and made his scheduler talk to us also is no way to treat your employees. I suggest you go somewhere else with licensed technicians who know what they’re doing and avoid yourself the headache that we are currently in.
