The only microchip database to charge rescue centres

Charging a rescue centre £30 to move microchips into their rescue centres details or into a new owners name does not seem very fair, especially when the alternative is to pay £45 to have the microchip released in order to be registered with another microchip company.

We do not charge rescues to register pets in their care temporarily whilst the pets are awaiting rehome. Our policy is that all NEW pet keepers register via our website and pay the one off fee. If a pet is rehomed, this means the onus is on the new keeper to register their details against their pet microchip for the lifetime of their keepership for reunification purposes. This is a process much like changing the records for keeping a car and it is a legal duty of the new keeper. If as a rescue you offer to cover the charge of this fee to register the microchip of a rehomed pet, we cannot change our policy to suit those requirements. We do however transfer and store details for rescues free of charge for the period of time the pet may be in you care.
We hope you can understand that we firmly believe the most important part of a pets journey is ensuring their microchip is registered and kept up to date by the keeper, as this is a pets only voice to tell a human where it belongs. We also believe that £30.00 spread over the lifetime of the pet is a very small price to pay for this service and should the keeper require updates to their contact details in the future then we will not charge a fee for this as future admin is covered by the initial £30.00 fee.

SCAMMERS!!

Terrible customer service from a guy who had a chip on his shoulder the full way through called James Roberts. He was so disrespectful and sure of himself that he didn’t care that I was going to report him.

This company has your eyes out at £30 to register your dog with them, change their details and cancel. So do yourselves a favour and go somewhere cheaper as they really do have pet owners eyes out.

EDIT To Reply - it’s funny how you’ve only seem to reply to my review of your poor company. Just shows that this James isn’t as low down the ranks as he makes out to be.

Our puppy came with one of there chips…

Our puppy came with one of there chips and I followed instructions to register it and all I received was a debit of £30 , nothing else , I’ve sent several emails and the phone number is pointless just goes to voicemail

We are sorry you experienced issues with the phoneline - our phonelines are open 9am - 5pm for general enquiries and 24/7 for emergency calls.
Our email inbox is monitored 24/7.
Our website also states, your registration is online based, you do not receive anything in the post. The fee is for us to hold your contact details against your microchip for the lifetime of your pet, and have members of staff on hand to aid with reunification for missing pets.
Future updates to your registered details can be made via email to customercare@myanimaltrace.com stating your microchip number and required changes to your home address, contact number or email address.

AVOID this Co. My 9 month old puppy went missing…

My 9 month old puppy went missing yesterday afternoon thankfully due to a swift and caring community and social media he is safe, unharmed and back home. One of the neighbours had a microchip scanner which when scanned did not detect any details for Mika or myself, just a reg No and their name. He was taken to the vets who haven't heard of "My Pet Trace" they logged into the website which confirmed he was registered on their database but no personal details to myself. The website had their 24/7 emergency number which when called states they are closed but open Monday.This morning I called their Emergency Lost Pet Line 0330 223 6237 which goes to "what sounded like you are connected to voitsown voicemail"? I would never say anything wrongful to anybody or a company but I urge anybody thinking about using this company to AVOID or anybody registered to change immediately to a reputable company.

Please note microchip readers will only ever ping back a number on a scanner as that is the purpose of us as a database to store details held against a pet microchip for the lifetime of keepership, for the purposes of reunification. The reason for this is a microchip does not hold a live signal and is only activated by the scanner to emit a small enough signal to read a number, this ensures the microchips are safe to implant.

We are extremely sorry you were not able to get through to our phonelines, we do aim respond to voicemail messages for emergency purposes immediately.
We would like to note we have expanded our team to cope with the influx of admin due to the recent XL bully ban and we should hope not to experience a delay with the phonelines again. There is now a completely separate missing pet emergency line to ensure we have no issues with reporting of missing pets over the phone.
We truly apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Please be aware our registration fee is a one-off payment that lasts the keeper the whole time of their keepership. Future updates to registered contact details are free of charge for the keeper, and there are no hidden charges or subscriptions for registering a microchip.
We also have the option to activate a QR MAT-TAG for just £1 per month or less giving extra security a missing pet can be reunited with their keeper by anyone with a mobile device!

No phone to talk to a human , takes a long time to answer emails , I would prefer to talk and make sure things are right , so would my vets prefer to phone too , must get a phone line up and running not voicemail that never phones you back ☺️

Irresponsible rip off

I have been trying to contact My Animal Trace for over a week. They are useless.
I have submitted web contact forms.
I have tried twice to leave voicemails but their box is full.

Their costs are extortionate, and I now have no confidence in them. My puppy's breeder put in one of their chips and I can't even register myself as the puppy's owner.

Because they are never available, I now want to request they remove the microchip number from their database so I can register the puppy with Pettrac, where all my other animals are registered, and who answer both emails and phone calls.

Do I really have to put another chip in the puppy to achieve this?

Total rip off, and not prioritising the safety or welfare of animals.

An implanter would and should not ever microchip a pet twice, one of the first steps in the process of microchipping a pet is to ensure the pet is not already microchipped for many reasons, but this can also cause issues for reunification.
Our microchip fee covers you for the lifetime of your keepership and enables us to store your details for the purpose of reunification with no hidden charges or subscriptions - future updates to your registered details are free for the lifetime of the pet. We believe £30.00 is a fair price for the service that may last for up to 20 years or more depending on the species or breed!
We hope this helps explain our process a little more.

Is the invoice number the confirmation of the registration. Is my pet officially on your database? I think the website and in particular links to be made much clearer.
