I ordered a fantastic chess set at a great price. Everything was packed well and very high quality. A top tier addition to my collection of sets, would love to order again.

My wife bought me a chess set for Christmas. They promised free shipping. Then we got a bill from FedEx. My wife contacted the company and they promised that they would take care of the FedEx bill. It is now Feb 21 2026 and FedEX is threatening us with collection. Most recent threat was in our mailbox yesterday. We will never do business with them again.

I am absolutely satisfied with the handmade luxury chess set I received. Customer service is wonderful and been very helpful.

My Chess Sets was great from the beginning. Their website is professional and very informative, after I placed my order I contacted customer services just to find out roughly when I would receive my item and Dan couldn't be more helpful.
Delivery was speedy and there was no possibility of any damage as my goods were very well packaged.
My Chess board is beautiful and of the highest quality and a very fair price.

Great communication from Dan. Was a great help and answered any queries promptly. Chess set arrived and even better than I thought it would be. High quality and something that will be passed down to the next generation eventually.

Awful experience from start to finish. The only redeeming factor that we ended up with a nice looking chess table albeit damaged.

Firstly, took a month of chasing and false promises of shipping to finally receive the table. That's when more problems started.

It arrived damaged. Dents in the actual chess board and a scratch on the bottom. It was quite clear from the shipping packaging that it was shipped with the dents not damaged during shipping.

We were initially told that our only recourse was to make a claim with the shipping company. I pointed out that it was their responsibility to do that and that I needed to either return the board or get a partial refund to be able to go get it repaired.

Only after a lot of back and forth, we reached an agreement on a partial refund. The other problem was some missing backgammon pieces, I was told they would be shipped immediately.

After being promised a delivery again that didn't happen, the backgammon pieces were delivered but were an incorrect size for the board. I was told I was trying to scam them at this point!

I sent a picture and they acknowledged that the pieces were incorrect and we agreed on a further refund rather than waiting for yet another delivery.

All in all, a very painful process that went on for about 2 months from start to finish and involved lots of back and forth and delays to get resolution.

The starting point was a lack of responsibility for making sure their customer receives a non-damaged product. It is between them and their shipping agent if it doesn't arrive intact.

I ordered the Greek mythology chess set as a gift and when it arrived, I was disappointed to see that the pieces were not as advertised. The knight for instance was supposed to be Pegasus but the piece I received had no wings...so just a horse? Instead of Zeus, I was sent a very nondescript man as the King - no lightening bolt, robe, beard, etc. Same with the bishop and queen but you get the idea. At first they tried to tell me that since they are handcrafted, there could be discrepancies. When I pointed out the designs were completely different, they agreed to resend the pieces. Great! Although I should mention that the pieces are WAY more distressed looking than what they have pictured which I guess you could chalk up to them being handcrafted but its a rather significant difference in person. They told me that the replacement shipped so I'm thinking we're all set but after a week and nothing was delivered I reached back out. Come to find out it didn't actually ship. Back and forth just trying to get an answer on when it will ship. After days passed they told it would STILL be several more days until it will ship. Fine. Well the replacements came and guess what - wrong pieces again! This time I got the Roman Archers but at a very different scale than the first package - almost like a miniature version. I'm beyond frustrated at this point and they only offered a half refund - considering I paid close to $200 for this, half is still too much to pay for what I got. Keep in mind at this point, its over a month since I ordered so this dragged on and on. In the end they did give me a bigger refund which earns them 1 star rather than the 0 stars I wish I could give them but to pay anything to not receive what you ordered is rather frustrating. Please beware.

Update: I see they commented below saying they offered $132 refund out of the $182 (I paid slightly more in reality). Incorrect. They OFFERED a refund of only half ($93). After some back and forth they then AGREED to refund me that amount which I was grateful for.

A really beautiful and elegant chessboard! I had some issues with the courier, who insisted on charging customs fees, but My Chess Sets refunded all the extra costs. I’m very satisfied!

I want to thank Dan and the team for delivering a beatiful chess set and board. I opted for the 3.85” Professional Colombian Style Staunton Chess Set - Boxwood & Golden Rosewood with Golden Rosewood Board. I’ve already played chess using my new set with my partner many times. We both love it. The weight of te pieces and design are sublime.

Wanting to protect my pieces, I also chose Chess Storage Box Dual Tray Design - Brown Leatherette, which makes me feel that this chess set will last many generations. There’s something that adds deep satisfaction and adds to the enjoyment of my game.

The set and box came extremely well packaged and protected. If I ever feel the need to buy another set, this is where I’ll be coming.

I ordered a chess set as a staff appreciation gift on a weekend and Dan e-mailed me right back. I had a lot of questions since I have never used My Chess Sets and Dan was quick to get back and customized it to all of my preferences. We gave it to the staff person and he absolutely loved the set. The inscription was beautiful and the chess set although reasonably priced, looked very expensive and luxurious. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone!!
