Blocked me instead of standing behind damaged merchandise

I paid for a comic and received a damaged item with scratches, marks, and defects. That alone is bad enough. Instead of making it right, they blocked me and basically made it clear they do not want to deal with customers who push back when they receive damaged merchandise.

That is not good customer service. That is not accountability. If you sell collectibles, condition matters. When the item arrives messed up, the buyer should not be treated like the problem for disputing it. My experience was terrible, and I would not trust this company again.

And the cleanest way to say the chargeback point is this:

A return is sending the item back through the seller or platform.
A chargeback is disputing the payment through your card issuer when the seller/platform does not properly resolve the issue.

So no, “item arrived damaged and I disputed it” is not automatically wrong. The safer wording for your review is to focus on this: the item arrived damaged, the issue was not resolved to your satisfaction, and they blocked you afterward.

Good product poor service

Always good product but very poor customer service. I have spent thousands over the years and they could not split up an order onto different cards of over 50+ books. They wanted to cancel and make me do it again which would add to shipping. That's just poor service. I will no longer order from them and they lost a customer they had for years.

This is my honest review for…

This is my honest review for MyComicShop as a 1st time seller. I chose to sell on consignment with them because they allow comics to be sold that Ebay will not (adult related) Since it is my 1st submission with them I only sent 5 books to test how the process will go. MyComicShop confirmed receipt on Nov 12. They have noted on site that the process can take up to 15 days to grade, scan and file submissions before they will be available for sale. I knew this before I sent the books and was cool with it as I wanted to have them in the Dec 15th auction. (that should give me a 30+ day cushion before the auction to allow processing my books) I waited 20 days and they were still not ready but I searched for my books on their site and noticed that they had been scanned and graded. What exactly does "filing" mean anyways and should it take longer than a day to file 5 books? No problem, I'll give them another week. Well the Dec 15th auction is now passed and I missed it and my books are still being "filed" and not ready to sell after 30+ days. Yes, I have inquired with the response being the generic excuse of holiday delays and short staff. So what exactly is "filing" and why does it take so long? My books have been graded and scanned for awhile now. I was told a 15 day process once you received my books and that is what I expected and clearly that has not been held up on your end. And the "holiday short staff" excuse does not sit well with a company that claims to be "professional". Professional companies usually hire more help for the holidays am I right?

Hi, thank you for leaving your feedback. I'm sorry that we didn't have your books processed as quickly as you needed. You are correct that our website language was not accurate for your books. We looked into it, and the main reason these took longer than usual is that some of the books you submitted were variants (Kickstarter editions, etc) that we did not already have set up in our catalog. Processing items that aren't already set up in our catalog takes us more time than comics that we already have fully set up.

We apologize for the delay you experienced, and we've updated our website language to more accurately reflect what processing time to expect. Our website now states:

"Most consignments will be processed within about 15 days from the date that your comics arrive at our office, although any issues that were not already listed in our database will require additional setup time and may take closer to 30 days. We don't guarantee a specific completion date, so if tight deadlines are a concern, please ship as early as possible, and get in touch with us to discuss what you need."

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and apologies again for the slower turnaround than you were led to believe.

I've order from MyComicshop about 10+…

I've order from MyComicshop about 10+ times. Each time the orders have been shipped within 24 hours. I do find that they under grade. I purchased a Strange Adventures 1. They had it rated as a 4.0. Sent it to CGC and got a 5.5. I find to be safe they seem to grade books 1.0 or .5 lower than what the books are. They are my number one place for Silver and Gold books

Shockingly bad

Shockingly bad. Use PayPal and they take your money but no order made and blame PayPal for their crap website. You have been warned. Do not buy here

Might be a fake labubu but I already spend my $59….mistakes were made and thx for successfully scamming I think if you did shame on you Bubu Gift 😡

Shipping delayed

The comics are in a good shape but the shipping is way too overpriced and it is always delayed for 2-3 days. If you contact the customer service you just get a rude answer back.

I’ve been a customer for quite awhile…

I’ve been a customer for quite awhile now and I’ve never had any problems. Prices are (they don’t pull the jacked up price then offer you a discount scam) always fair with plenty of condition options. Grading is always spot on and the packaging is top notch. Love these guys!

They refunded my money stating they…

They refunded my money stating they didn't have my product that I wanted which online stated in stock.

4 days later they take out double the amount of money and claim its in the post, I never authorised the additional transaction as I have found another vendor for said comic.
This business is obviously doing some illegal stuff with unauthorised transactions after cancelling & refunding the original order.

Not recommended

Hey man, these guys are good i got comics from the before and they are excellent at what they do. So, don't listen to those 1 star reviews and give these guys a chance.

Great Experience!

Very positive experience with this store. I purchased a couple of books from them, and took part in one of their auctions too. Everything went quite smoothly. They also have helpful and accommodating customer support. Definitely recommended.

Divine Right Comics .....

After reading some of the reviews I was a little sceptical. I ordered a stack of Divine Right comics that I was struggling to get, all the way to NZ. Holy crap each one of them arrived sealed and you can tell they had received TLC. Wait time for the postal was a bit but expected due to my country. Have already ordered the rest + Justice League Infinity comics. Will be making more purchases in the future.

Want list scam

Ok so first of all if everyone will take a look at the people who have left positive reviews you will notice that many have only wrote reviews for mycomicshop and many of them multiple times and they're all about generic experiences lol. So I've just had some comics graded by them and most of those comics were brand new still in the unopened box that they shipped in 30 years ago and just received the most ridiculous counter offer so ill be calling them tomorrow and most likely flying out there to pick them up

Do not sell to these people, huge ripoff!

They will rip u off big time. Sold them comics that were near mint, read once & been in a back & bag since then. They come back with a good condition, basically if it was just laying around with creases and bends, marks, whatever else they decide to make up. I needed the money & u have to pay for them to ship it back, so it would have cost me money, but they did that for nearly every one. I know condition & they were just lying thier asses off. Doesn't matter if it's in perfect condition they will make $h*t up & say it's in bad shape. Low balling douchebags. Sell anywhere else.

Hi, I requested more information from you through TrustPilot so I could verify you had a transaction with us and review the details, since I'm not able to find any activity under the name listed with your review. I didn't get any response to that so I don't have any info to go on.

We are strict graders, and many people selling comics do not grade as strictly as we do. Whatever grade we report to a seller when buying a comic is the same grade we list the comic at when we post it for sale.

We buy hundreds of thousands of comics a year, from thousands of different sellers, and have been doing so since 1999 online and another 20+ years as a physical comic book store before that. We would not be as successful as we are if we lied about condition as you described. I'm sorry you weren't happy with the grades we assigned your comics and hope you found a different buyer who was willing to pay more for your comics than we would.

WARNING -- AVOID MYCOMICSHOP at ALL COSTS

WARNING: I WOULD ADVISE ALL INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS NOT TO ORDER FROM MYCOMICSHOP. At the moment, I'm still waiting for the "customer service" person to find out why a shipment has gone missing (no tracking for nearly three weeks). They are trying to blame it on tracking in my country, but...the package went missing in the US. So far, no replacements, no refund...

I absolutely love my comic shop

I absolutely love my comic shop! I order ASM Annual #1 this past Thursday and it was delivered today, Saturday! Packaging was great to! And I think they’re grading is great! If anything, I think they undergrads...mine was listed as 1.0 but I have no doubt in my mind it’s at LEAST a 1.5-1.8...hell possibly even a 2.0! Keep up what you guys are doing! And forget these negative feedbacks! People are to damn sensitive and whiny now a days it’s pretty sad. Thank you guys so much I will definitely be doing business with you again!

I recently got back into collecting and…

I recently got back into collecting and primarily have purchased from mycomicshop and eBay. My experience is that the comics labeled NM from eBay sellers are almost always NM or more. Many even candidates to be sent to CGC for grading. The books I have gotten from mycomicshop labeled NM aren't NM or if they are they're barely NM. It's disheartening because when you order you hope you'll get a pristine copy and that the issue will be rare and maybe someday worth sending to cgc. If that is your goal, do NOT use mycomicshop. Go to your local deal and pay the extra price so you can look at the comics beforehand ensuring you're getting what you paid for. If you don't care about quality, and just want your 35% off because you can preorder 2 months in advance...this is absolutely where you should shop.

Great variety of items run by a suspect owner

Positive: No doubt, this place has an immense selection of comic books to choose from and the shipping is reasonable.

Negative: Their grading is a bit questionable. Some of their books, even though shows it as Near Mint, are actually Very Fine with noticeable creases and dings.

Owner is stubborn, rude, and lacks proper business practices. Owner cares more about his political views (he's a die-hard Donald Trump supporter), which is evident of his newsletter emails, by showing unprofessionalism and lack of empathy rather than forming new businesses with customers.

By far the most horrible company you…

By far the most horrible company you can ever deal with , and their customer service is way worse than horrible . They SUCK !
After i wrote the above they replied and i wrote this :
I bet nobody spend $400 everyday and anyway i got email at 11:34 AM and 3 hours after i answer at 3:45 pm , at 4:21 pm they email me :

Hello,

Due to the way our system is set up we are not able to substitute an item with a different variant. If we have an unavailable item and we have a replacement that is available in a higher grade, we will substitute the higher grade item for unavailable book, but we are not able to do that with different variants.

This complaint appears to be regarding your order from three months ago, since I do not see any more recent activity. In that purchase you ordered 159 comics and we were unable to supply one of them due to an error in our inventory.

You emailed us asking if we could replace the unavailable comic with a different variant of the same issue. We replied that we were unable to accommodate your request--on the rare instances when an ordered item is unavailable, our shipping department does not automatically replace an unavailable comic with a different variant because in many cases the buyer wants only the specific variant they ordered. In your case, you told us that you would like to receive a different variant. I would have no problem with accommodating your request if we could, but your order had already been mailed more than two hours before you emailed us, so we could not have substituted a different item at that time.

I reviewed our customer service staff's messages with you and find them to be courteous and professional. I'm sorry we could not provide service more to your liking.
