I am currently going through the NACA process now and everything has been smooth so far. My counselor has been super helpful throughout the process with making sure I am well informed and on the right track to buying my first home. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

My experience with the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) has been overwhelmingly positive. After being in the program for some time, I finally buckled down and committed fully to the process—and I’m so glad I did. The structure, resources, and support NACA provides have made the journey toward homeownership feel achievable and empowering.

I especially want to highlight my counselor, Dwayne Jordan, whose guidance has been invaluable. Dwayne has been patient, knowledgeable, and consistently supportive throughout every step. With his help, I’ve been able to stay focused, work diligently, and make steady progress toward my end goal of purchasing my first home.

So far, so good! I had my pre-counseling session with my counsellor and she was knowledgeable, kind, answered all my questions and was able to show me how much I can afford in month mortgage payments, the maximum mortgage I can afford and how much I should be saving. It’s exactly the information I needed.

On top of the counseloe, there's like 6 other persons involved throughout the process.
The counselor requests the same documents over and over again, he keeps misplacing them. It takes FOREVER for them to respond to your emails. Like 24 to 48 hours. I had to request extensions over and over again just for NACA to come back and request something they should have requested weeks prior. I definitely DO NOT recommend working with these people.
Their repair request is so ridiculous and their estimates are over the sky. It just scares sellers away.

I have been involved with NACA for a while now, possibly longer than I should have been before getting to the end goal. The fact is, I have no one to "blame" except me! NACA is a great program for holding a mirror up to your financial self, because they truly will not let anyone just take on a major financial responsibility without being adequately prepared.

The process of applying for a home loan through NACA has been smooth and easy. My counselor Dwayne Jordan has been great helping me through the process.

The company is great because, aside from not having to put down a down payment & closing costs, it clearly outlines step by step how to reach your goal of home-ownership. It outlines exactly what's needed and has a check- system to help you keep track of your progress. The process may be a bit time- consuming due to the amount of paper work necessary to submit. There is a lot of pieces of documentation- proof for funds, job security, income, etc. that requires a bit of time to explain/ submit. Overall, with patience, the company helps you get to your end goal. Overall the experience has been a reality check as well as rewarding.

NACA is a life saving program for people who are housing insecure and without means to access the real estate system by way of traditional mortgages. Also, NACA provides great support with clear stepping stones on the path to homeownership which is vital to the process. As a prior long-term renter who has faced a lot of hardship with the rental market and not knowing where else to turn, NACA is a wonderful channel that is making a pipe dream of homeownership into reality!!!

My parents bought their house through the NACA program back in 2014 and it was the best option for them to become home owners, now I’m going through the process myself and so far it has been a great experience, all of the staff that I have talked to has been very nice and the process has been easy. Ive been preparing myself to become a homeowner so most of the requirements and documents needed I already had access to them and it was a simple process to get everything submitted and reviewed. I would recommend NACA to anybody that’s looking to become a homeowner.

I spent months in the NACA program and ultimately walked away without qualifying despite repeatedly providing updated documents, explanations, and financial information.

The process felt like a moving target. As conditions were satisfied, new requirements appeared, documents expired before review, and obtaining clear answers regarding timelines and remaining qualification hurdles was difficult.

The most frustrating part was learning about significant additional qualification requirements months into the process that would have impacted my decision to participate had they been disclosed earlier. I ultimately pursued other options.

One thing prospective applicants should be aware of is that participation activities are part of the program. In my experience, writing reviews was encouraged as part of that participation. Because of this, I would encourage people to look beyond early-stage reviews and focus on feedback from individuals who have successfully completed the entire process and actually purchased a home.

If you are considering NACA, be prepared for a potentially lengthy process, repeated document submissions, and uncertainty regarding qualification requirements and timelines.
