In March or 2023, my wife and I decided we wanted to retire to Madeira. We talked to various companies to help us with our huge life change and decided on Newco to help make our dream come true.
Newco found us a beautiful property. We used their legal services, and they helped us open our bank accounts, even accompanying us to the banks. Newco held our hand every step of the way in applying for our D7 retirement visa, and we were delighted to obtain approval for our visas only four weeks later. We will continue to use the services of Newco into the future and have no reservations in highly recommending the services of Newco to anyone.

My wife and I recently sold our vacation home in Madeira, Portugal. NewCo was recommended to us by a dear friend who has worked with NewCo on many offshore projects and accounting work. We were very pleased with the professionalism and thoroughness that the staff offered every step of the way. Not only did they take care of all the property transfer issues, but represented us at the closing making sure all went according to plan. A Madeiran friend recommended Angela at NEWCO when we were looking to move from the UK. We sent her examples of houses for sale that we liked (and didn’t like), and she quickly pulled together at least half a dozen that would interest us. On our next visit to Madeira she drove us around Funchal to view the properties, sharing her excellent knowledge of the areas and the country’s real estate market.

Towards the end of the first day of house tours, she showed us the most amazing house – a designer dream that was in our price range. We looked at a few more the next day, but that amazing house won out. We made an offer which was accepted, and just a month later (January 2023) signed the deed and got the keys. Incredibly smooth and quick compared to buying a property in England!

As we only know a few words in Portuguese, Angela was invaluable in researching all sorts of details for us, sorting out the contracts and explaining how the process works in Madeira. She’s also been super helpful post-purchase with essentials like getting electricity and water accounts setup, banking, names of contractors, etc. We never would have got from browsing to buying to actually living in our new Madeira home this fast without her. And at all stages we definitely felt she was on our side, which was very reassuring coming into this new ‘foreign’ country.

NEWCO’s immigration team led by Claudia have also been super at guiding us through the Portuguese visa process. As with any country, there is lots of bureaucracy involved – and they’ve helped us every step of the way to ensure our application was solid and submitted correctly. We’ve met everyone at NEWCO working our case in person, and it’s nice not dealing with some faceless organisation (SEF provides more than enough of that!). The vagaries and timelines of Portugal’s government are out of our control, but with Claudia’s help we’re confident things will work out.

The best real estate company that I ever worked with!

I was in Madeira in Jan this year, looking to buy my holiday investment home in Funchal; I reached out to Newco as they came highly recommended by a friend.

I was shortly put in touch to speak to Angela, who heads up the real-estate department at NEWCO! She dealt with all my requirements with the utmost professionalism and was an absolute gem to work with! She is an expert in the Madeira real-estate market, made sure to listen to all my requirements and gave me recommendations / alternative options to consider to ensure that I don’t miss out on any opportunity to choose the best property for me! Within a day of discussing my options, she reached out to me to book some time for viewings! and I must say, I was genuinely pleased as all the options that she showed me were meeting my expectations and even way better! She also showed me a few exclusive properties that were not even listed on the market; giving me a huge competitive advantage!

But it didn't just end there! She was able to recommend me to speak to a few local contacts at Banks too which allowed me to get the best and most competitive mortgage deals! But also as the agency has other departments they were able to help me navigate through pretty-much all my questions including conveyancing, accounting, relocation, business setups, tax systems, future rentals etc - which was bliss! Essentially think of them as a one-stop-shop for relocation services, Golden visa programmes and business setups! This saved me a lot of time as I was able to find suitable properties in a short time but also managed to enjoy my holiday there too with my family, knowing everything is taken care of by NEWCO's expert team!
