No need to wire it in which is a huge plus it simply clips into the side of the forward facing camera module and then yiur good to go

The Nextbase Rear-View Camera is designed with a narrower, telephoto lens, to record the view of the road directly behind your vehicle. The view recorded is similar to the image seen in your rear-view mirror. The Rear-View Camera can easily be installed by clicking it into the side of your front facing Nextbase Dash Cam model. Compatible with: 322GW 422GW 522GW 622GW (Will NOT work with Piqo) Resolution When you are using a rear-view camera module the resolution of your front camera will automatically adjust to manage the two high resolution video files. The options for these settings are: 622GW Front 4K, Rear 1080p 422/522GW Front 1080p, Rear 1080p OR Front 1440p, Rear 720p 322GW Front 1080p, Rear 720p Module connectivity Connects directly to your Dash Cam and records the rear view of your journey through your car. Utterly useless. The camera kept coming unplugged and stopped working. Needs a better connection method and a positive engagement like a physical latch. It would have been very good in principle, but it just did not work, so I returned it for a refund.

I was dubious this mini HDMI device when plugged into the 522 could produce images of value, but I was very wrong. After all, it's looking back through the car rather than being cabled to a location against the rear window. Leaving side the obvious flaw (the view is obstructed on the very rare occasions when there's a middle seat passenger in the rear) it's a very sensible add-on that takes away the hassle of the additional cabling. Would highly recommend.
