Absolute garbage

Absolute garbage. Paid for a shared transfer and they got paid and we didnt get the transfer. Waited for an hour and a half at the airport. Very disorganized but haven’t returned my money for not providing the service i paid for.

Keep proof of payment for taxi advance and don’t expect a refund

We arrived in Cancun well within the promised 60 minutes waiting time. The taxi ride had been fully paid for. But no, our taxi was not available because ‘we were late’ (which was not true). They then tried to talk us into paying cash for an alternative taxi, which we refused, but after 10 hours of flying, getting our suitcases and then having waited for another hour in which Nexus simply told us their car wouldn’t arrive and we had to take another one, we caved and I paid by creditcard. It would be refunded by a Nexus agent at our resort. This was not true; they told us to reach out to Nexus. Nexus told us to ask our own travel agent. I contacted Nexus multiple times, so did our agent, but to no avail. We still have no refund (and it’s almost 150 EUR) and Nexus simply refers back to our agent. Avoid booking Nexus and if you happen to get stuck with them, pay by card and keep all proof. I am currently trying to get my card insurer to solve the issue; Nexus is clearly not going to help.

Private transfer paid for but not provided. No refund provided.

Purchased a private transfer to and from the airport to our hotel. They didn't show up to take us back to the airport at the end of our vacation. After waiting around in the lobby for more than an hour, the Nexus representative told us to take a cab to the airport and that they (Nexus) would refund us the cost of the cab and the cost of the transfer. This has not happened. To date, we are out of pocket for the cost of the transfer and the cost of the cab and Nexus has stopped responding to emails. This is disgraceful behaviour by Nexus. Do not trust them

Vacation planned to start in March 13…

Vacation planned to start in March 13 2020, was moved to November 05. Since that, no any information. No tour, no money, no phone call, no email. Automatic email answer 'Due to this Coronavirus Pandemic, our manager asked most of the employees including me to stay at home from now on. Due to the high volume of refunds that are being processed at this time, please be patient and thanks for your understanding.'
We need to get all travelers together and hire the lawyer to sue the company and get the money back.

The refund that never came

We were all set for our 9 day "cherry Blossom" Japan tour to depart on 01Apr20, when we were notified that it was postponed to September. We email back to the agent to refund our money back and if the tour operated in 2021 we may sign up again. We were told that refunds take 8 weeks as that is how long the airlines take to refund the money. Its end of September and no refund , no response to emails, phone lines are dead and the local office in El Monte , California has been closed since April( according to the property office), website has been pulled down.
This is a big let down for a company that has operating since 1996 with 18 offices worldwide.

They are CROOKS

They are CROOKS. If I could give them a negative rating I would. My daughter's school contracted with them for a trip to China for 24 kids. We canceled the trip in February 2020 and were told that we would receive all of our money back except for a $50 administrative fee. None of the families have gotten one cent back from them. They are also holding 3 passports that they have refused to return. NEVER EVER CONTRACT WITH THEM. THE ARE CROOKS

WORST TRAVEL COMPANY EVER. THIEVES!

If I could give a zero-star review I would.

This company continuously goes back on their word and does not care about their customers. We booked everything for our honeymoon and understandably, things were cancelled because of COVID-19. However, this is where everything went wrong. We were told we could move our trip to June...well everything was still cancelled so we chose a refund.

It took them 5 MONTHS TO ISSUE A PARTIAL REFUND. And even then, we had to email EVERY DAY to try and get a response. They said the refund the would issue would include a cancellation fee. Now I am sure their insurance would have covered this but they still chose to pass it on to the customer.

They then continued to change their minds about the cancellation fee. Initially they said it was $200. Then they said it was $350. Then finally they STOLE $400 from us.

This company is horrible. I will NEVER deal with them again. I will actively go out of my way to ensure I can tell as many people about this as I can.

Not only did we lose our jobs due to COVID, we now have lost a substantial amount of money that was meant to go to on our honeymoon.

I hope you all can sleep at night.

Never again with Nexus

As a result of the price $899 + $100 compulsory tipping per person, we had a reasonably low expectation of the tour. However, while the actual sightseeing part was amazing and there were some beautiful spots visited, these were rushed so the guide could take us to a supposed cultural experiences. You were forced to listen to a sales pitch extolling the virtues of the product; how their product was superior in quality and cheapest in price. This was not the case and they were way more expensive than elsewhere. While I understand the guides get a large kickback for taking their tours there, the high pressure selling and the amount of time spent at each place was overwhelming, and they added more than was in our original itinerary. It really didn't leave a good impression and we felt like we were being treated like cash cows to be milked.
When we booked we looked at the type of accommodation they were offering and were pleasantly surprised. However, just prior to our departure we were given a new itinerary with different hotels. I can assure you they were NOT similar to what we were advised we would be getting and I am seriously thinking of complaining to AFTA or Fair Trading. Our hotel in Wuxi the Wuxi Jinjiang Grand Hotel was disgusting, and came complete with bugs, filth, and the smell of sewerage from our bathroom. I did not expect the best, I did expect clean. Another way of gouging money out of their customers is the hotels are so far out. If you didn't do the optional tours you were stuck in a hotel with nothing near to you. My husband speaks Chinese so we were the lucky ones.
We did a couple of the optional tours and were glad we didn't do too many. The shows and cruises were excellent. Luckily we didn't do the Peking duck dinner, as everyone was so disappointed they paid $40 each and got 1 - 2 pancakes. We went our own way and went to an amazing Peking duck restaurant paid $40 for both of us had the whole duck, 8 pancakes each. The skin was crispy, and the whole meal was the best.
If you are over 60 you can show your passport and a lot of the entry is free. However, Nexus pockets the money and still charges the same amount.
The guides were happy to tell us how wonderful their politicians are, and how stupid ours are, which I found insulting and unnecessary. Each guide sprouts the same propaganda and seem like brainwashed robots.
The tour guides changed the itinerary which wasn't too bad, except that left the last day in Shanghai with nothing to do. They advised they would take us into Shanghai if we did an optional tour with them and paid extra, or we could just stay in the hotel. The original itinerary had an outing in the morning into Shanghai, and free time after. We all felt cheated and ripped off. They should have taken us into Shanghai as per our itinerary and not charged extra.
Having said the above, I found the history, the people and the actual sights of China beautiful, and I wouldn't hesitate to go again, just NOT with Nexus, even at the low price it does not showcase Beautiful China, and leaves you feeling absolutely disrespected, cheated and ripped off.

Not really liking the way this company treated me, while I came back from my China trip. Complained about the bad trip I had they still never did anything about it, they simply don’t care.

China Trip with Nexus Holidays Travel Agency 2019

Nexus Holidays travel agency did a poor job in assuring my trip would be good. At first , had a lot of trust for this company until I went on my vacation to China. It was the worse, unprofessional tour guides , smelly hotels , and over priced optional excursions/shows.

1. Disappointed with Nexus Holidays traveler services.

1. Very unhappy and disappointed with the service from Miss. Jackie / Nexus Holidays.
2. Did not honored the published tour price for four travelers.
3. Each traveler has to Pay $100.00 extra.
4. Did not honored published air port San Jose, CA. We are from San Jose.
5. After paying $100.00 extra, booked our flight from LA, instead from SFO
6. As per Miss. Jackie, travelers are not allowed to contact Nexus Head office regarding their concern, difficulties and kind request.
7. For Nexus information: they should remember, they are in service business, to get repeating business humble service is a must.
8. Last but not the least, we are done with this tour company. What a nightmare.
9. FYI, last year we friends toured China with the Inter Trips. The services we received from that company was excellent. We were expecting the same from Nexus.
