Hi team,
My team is Srinivasa Nalla. I have contacted this company through Costco. This company started charging £340 per month on Insurance and provider as Aviva. When I spoke to one of my friend about this and he asked me to go for a different company and they are charging £59 for the same services.
My direct debit will come on 11th of every month and in the month of Jan I have asked them to change the direct debit from 11th to 02nd of the month. I have cancelled my policy on 06th of Feb 2020.
I have asked the refund amount and the status, they said it will take 6-8 weeks to know the refund amount.
Today (11th march 2020) I have called the customer service(Ross Arbuckle) said that I will not entitle to get any money due to admin charges of £60 and insurance cancellation policy amount for £180 and other charges. This Ross Arbuckle asked me to write an email for the breakdown of the insurance cancellation charges.

This Nova Insurance is a complete rip off especially when you are new to UK. However with this company I have lost £2,150 for car value of £3,500. I have spoke to Dean Harris as well on the same.

With in this digital world no company will take 6-8 weeks of refund and they are not refunding any money at all.

I have lodged a complaint with financial ombudsman service but I am not sure how long they are going to take it.

awful company very rude phone manner and unhelpful
tried to charge me £200 more for a policy taken out 3 days earlier then when I said no they said was a mistake yet the same price showed every time I put details in the online site .
was told no defiantly need another £200 or you have no insurance so requested to cancel policy was assured no fee and full refund but 2 months later after numerous calls and emails got refund minus £104 so have emailed again for breakdown of costs and have contacted insurance ombudsman - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ANY COST NOT WORTH THE HASSLE

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. When you complete a quote online you are asked to complete true and accurate information. After taking out a policy with Nova Insurance we undertake several background checks including ID, vehicle and claims. When we called to validate your policy is was clear the "Vehicle Use" was incorrect and once changed, to ensure you were insured correctly, this changed the quoted premium. As you can appreciate our quote is based on the information you provide.

To avoid this in future it is essential that when you complete an online quote you provide true and accurate information.

SO HAPPY WITH THEM (for many years)

I have been using NOVA for a few years now.
They handle all my fleet insurance, building and Public Liability insurances.
I chose them as they were the type of company that you call up and speak with a person without an automated system. I always seek out these sorts of companies as they deserve my money.
I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THEM.
They are personal, they email me directly when it is time to renew anything and have been able to negotiate fleet insurance after having many claims on our vans.
They have filled in 3rd party paperwork for me on numerous occasions at no extra charge and I have a dedicated person that is my GO-TO when I need them.
Sad to see all the negative reviews.
Not my experience at all! EVER!

Disgusting company

Disgusting company. Canceled my insurance quote and has not returned the money for more than two months. more 300£. Do not reply to phone calls or emails. Beware of this company.
Sorry I can not put 0 stars.
in a few months .. about 7 ..
returned half of the money. Do you think it would be expensive if you were somewhere in an uninsured car? I think the price is ok. Disgusting company

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Having looked at your quote you specified a professional but during a call with our team you mentioned you are a courier. Unfortunately we cannot offer insurance for couriers due to the heightened risk involved.

To avoid such a scenario again when you complete an online quote you MUST enter accurate and honest details. In addition knowingly providing incorrect details could be classed as insurance fraud.

After taking out a policy with Nova Insurance we undertake several background checks including ID, vehicle and claims. During these checks we found a claim that was not disclosed on the original quote and therefore a re-quote was required and an additional premium. This was essential to ensure you were/are insured correctly.

Had to rewrite this as the company got offended by my comments and felt it was to harsh. So here it is again as 'nice' as possible.

Although they may appear the 'cheapest' in comparison sites by far, there are So many hidden charges that they add on afterwards. Should have reviewed the reviews online before I took out a policy with them. Will never make that mistake again. Initially I made a genuine mistake on the details and was told it would take my insurance up another £250. Although when I ran a new quote it made a £45 difference. I said I wanted to cancel but then that would cost me over £100 due to 'admin' charges etc, so basically stuck and at a loss either way...

Customer service team is really poor and have no care whatsoever. Sales team pushy to get sales but after the sale has gone through, they are no longer responsive.

Renewal letter comes and they really think that I would opt to renew again LOL (another hidden charge of course if you don't cancel in time as it's automatic). Apparently they search for the best deal but somehow they are £500 more than last year even with an extra years no claims to my name. They got lucky with last years policy, never again...

Would give them 0 stars if there was that option, 1 star is being very generous.

I did a van insurance quote on…

I did a van insurance quote on gocompare and nova insurance came back cheapest at £700 so I paid £87 deposit.
The next morning I got a message to call. I called and we went through the policy and they said I can't use my no claims bonus from the car which then meant a new quote.....it doubled to £1400 which I said no so they cancelled....saying I would after pay £60 cancellation fee out of deposit.
I have spoke to a couple of customer service people and they are well trained in this scam. I have still not received the remainder of my deposit of £27.

Firstly thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. As you state in your review you wanted to use your No Claims Bonus (NCD) on both your car and van - this is not possible with ANY insurance broker, company or insurer. At Nova Insurance we have a duty of care to ensure that all our customers are insured correctly.

Clearly undertaking a quote with a NCD bonus and then re-quoting without would make a significant difference to the premium. Whilst i appreciate this may not have been the response you wanted i hope this does clear up the reasons around your quote increase.

Avoid this company

Offered a policy on a comparison site, took my money. Following day was called as a routine check of details. Was told that my quote was incorrect and an additional £200 was required. Cancelled my policy with no charges. Was advised that I would get a refund within 5 days. 10 days later still no refund. I have now been advised that I can not get my refund until 3 days after the policy is due to start. By this time they will have had my money for a month.
UPDATE. They still haven’t returned my money 10 days after my policy was due to start. I am going to open a dispute with my credit card company and speak to the Financial Conduct Authority.

Finally paid after TWO MONTHS

Finally paid money owed to me after TWO MONTHS. But alas and surprise surprise, underpaid. i wont say how much as they have complained to trustpilot, but I really cant be bothered. What a disgraceful company. Plus I had to keep chasing.Reading other complaints these complaints are common place(this review has been toned down because Nova complained). poop.

The worst insurance company i have ever dealt with, took money out of my account within minutes but waiting 3 week for the money to be refunded, get told a different date each time I phone up. AVOID

Firstly thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. If you choose to cancel your policy within the first 14 days of inception then we do advise that a refund, if due, can take 6-8 weeks. This is due to the fact that on many occasions we need to await for the return of the premium paid from the insurer. Whilst I do appreciate this may not be the response you wanted it would have been mentioned when you requested the cancellation.

Lowest of the low

Lowest of the low. Never received any documentation. Stops you from quoting policy number to complain on this website? They get you to go with them, low quote, wait til your current insurance has finished then send text saying they will cancel your insurance unless you pay more. They do this with many people. And when you say you will stick to your own insurance company they start with the threats. You won't get a refund, high cancellation charges, etc. When you say you will report them they laugh and tell you you are wasting your time! Check out what other people say on google maps etc. Notice how many times they try to block genuine reviews on this website as well. AVOID at all costs.

Reply to their reply. The quote I asked for was under the section "Courier Insurance". Their reply, like most of what they say is a pack of lies. Just look at their reviews, especially on Google Maps.

We called to confirm cover and during the call is became clear you are a courier, something you did not declare on the original quote and an occupation we do not insure. Had you provided your correct occupation when completing the quote then Nova Insurance would have not provided a quotation.
