Ignite Candles wasn’t born in a boardroom or brainstormed over lattes. Nope — it began in bed. Literally. Our founder was a full-time headteacher with a packed schedule and a passion for education — until long COVID brought everything to a screeching halt. Body said “nope,” but the brain said “I’m still here, pal.” With muscles on strike but the mind flickering like a stubborn tealight, something had to give. Enter candle making. What began as a way to keep the mind glowing during recovery quickly turned into a full-blown wax addiction. Scents were tested. Wicks were wicked. The kitchen looked like a waxy crime scene. But slowly, through trial, error, and singed eyebrows, the flame of a new purpose was lit. Fast forward a few years and a big move from Yorkshire to Hartlepool, and we opened our first shop in September 2024. Not just any shop — a dream fully melted and poured into reality. Along the way, we even convinced mum to move up from Wales and join the madness. Now we’re proudly a family-run business, powered by love, caffeine, and dangerously strong opinions about fragrance notes. Thanks to a game-changing innovation grant (and a whole lot of graft), Ignite Candles is now in full glow. We’re proof that even when life blows out your flame, you can relight it — preferably with something that smells like rhubarb & custard or “freshly baked nostalgia.” So if you’re into weirdly wonderful scents, lovingly hand-poured chaos, and candles with character — you’re in the right place.

Have always had such an amazing experience with Ignite! I’ve ordered candles for gifts and for personal use and every time I’m amazed by the craftsmanship, the scents and the customer service. Craig has even converted my partner to being a candle lover!

I've had candles from ignite for quite some time now and I keep ordering more! They are absolutely gorgeous! There are so many creative designs to choose from and the scent they give off (even when not lit) is one of a kind. There are some scents that make your mouth water they are absolutely 'yummy'. I've been a fan of candles for years and I now pick Ignite over the bigger brands such as Yankee and Woodwick! Not to mention the money I've saved by changing brands! Give them a try you honestly won't regret it. Delivery is super quick and the company are always super friendly to deal with! 😊

What can I say about ignite candles
What can I say about ignite candles. Just wow. I first met Craig after booking a candle party at home had no idea what to expect but was looking for something different from the normal girls nite out. I have never laughed so much in one nite as we did that nite. Craig was absolutely brilliant from start to finish teaching us how to make our own candles and talking us through every step of the process. The end result were amazing smelling gorgeous and really great quality. I have been buying candles now for well over a year and never disappointed. The quality, communication and service is amazing.
If you are looking for something special or wanting to have a girls nite in with a difference I would highly recommend ignite candles . If I could give more stars I would ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
