I always increase my Premium Bonds holding by doing a bank transfer using my debit card. I do a monthly increase of the same amount, so a standing order would make more sense. But using other methods... Ver mais

Not a good place to store money, a good website or anything else.

I tried signing up to a MS&I account but was unsuccessful they require so much information it was just easier to sign up for a trading 212 account instead they make you jump through so many loop holes you have to actually call someone on the phone to cancel your account how ridiculous is that the website keeps logging me out every time I click buttons they put there and the overall experience was stupid.

Waste of £100 hopefully I’ll get it back soon.

Issue with Premium Bonds Withdrawal Statement

I am writing to address an issue I recently encountered regarding my premium bonds. When I withdrew funds to finance a property purchase, the transaction appears on my bank statement only as a withdrawal amount, followed by a series of numbers and letters that do not indicate the source of the funds. This lack of clarity has created complications with my solicitor, who requires confirmation that these funds originated from my NSI premium bonds before proceeding with the property transaction.
Although, I appreciate that NSI is sending out a statement to clarify this matter, I believe it would greatly enhance the process if bank statements explicitly indicated that withdrawals were sourced from NSI premium bonds.
On a positive note, I want to express that I have not faced any issues with depositing and withdrawing of money through premium bonds.

Financial institution? No, charlatans!

Government run organisation, why did I expect it to be any good? Having previously transferred money to daughter’s JISA (by Faster Payment Deposit), last week (25/3) I deposited a further tranche, using the exact same, embedded, Faster Payment Deposit credentials, but the money has failed to be credited to the JISA. Yesterday, I made a smaller (test) deposit, same methodology, and this has gone through ok, but the larger deposit is still missing. As this missing amount HASN’T been returned to my source account, I suspect that the money is languishing in NS&I bank account waiting to be assigned somewhere. I called the (so-called) NS&I help number and after jousting with (so-called) AI, managed to get through to a curt customer service agent who could do nothing because “the server is down, call back later”. Financial institution? No, charlatans!

Website clunky and chatbot useless

Tried 4 times today to pay money into my wife's account. First time got into site, set up their bank payment system logged into bank account and then got kicked out when I tried to action the payment. Apparently I pressed the back button !!!! Tried later as bank was resetting its clocks ?? This time NS&I site totally failed to send out passcodes despite 2 requests and then re-logging back in. Website is NOT intuitive they expect you to know the 3 lines at top RHS are for login despite there being no text. Chatbot as usual asks all the wrong questions and will not let you talk to an agent. Seems they shut down 30 mins before clocking off time. They need to fire their IT consultants and rework their website, and given the Premium Bonds mess, hire more staff. It's not as if they have not got enough deposits.

I had a good customer service experience

The agent I spoke to explained why I had not managed to reset my password online (without making me feel like an idiot) and then took me through the process to do it over the 'phone, to avoid my having to wait for a temporary password in the post.

Poor service, lied to constantly - lost my kids money!

Ns&i are an incompetent company with extremely poor customer service!

I have been trying to transfer my children’s jisa’s over since Jan! Last week I was told they had received the funds and the accounts would be updated by Monday. I called yesterday as 2 of the accounts hadn’t been updated. I was then told they have “not received” 2 of the 3 children’s money that was sent over from the previous provider on 10th March.

I called today and was told they couldn’t tell me yes or no if they have the money, he then terminated the call!

Not even close to modern standards of platform service

Tried to cash in a certificate. System asked for a memorable word with a prompt that was never on my list of memorable words. So I have to reset the password, which has to be done by post, and this will take too long. Now that certs cannot be cashed in, it means my money will be locked in for another three years. And all the positive reviews look like they were generated by a bot.

Just awful

Just awful! Have spent literally months trying to access my joint bank account with my ex, all our savings are in it, it takes weeks to get sent information by post, then it doesn’t work. Staff have completely no idea, I have never been so frustrated and stressed by customer service before.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

POOR SERVICE , STAFF IS INCOMPETENT, UNDERQUALIFIED, NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE, INEPT. NO ONE COULD GUIDE ME HOW I CAN SUMBIT A CHILD GIFT APPLICATION FORM ONLINE. I RANG THEM 4 TIMES AND EACH TIME WHILST I WAS TALKING WITH VARIOUS STAFF AND EACH TIME THEY HAVE TO CONSULT WITH THEIR SUPERVISOR TO SEEK ADVISE INTO HOW TO PROCESS THEM AND EACH TIME THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ASSIST ME. A HUGE WEALTHY COMPANY NOT INVESTING IN THEIR STAFF THROUGH TRAINING AND EDUCATING THEIR STAFF INSTEAD OF ECONOMISING . HOW YOU CAN TRUST THEM WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO ADVISE ESPECIALLY THE SUPERVISORS?

Dont bother

Have to jump through so many hoops just to try and buy bonds or do anything in fact. Unable to use it on a phone with developer mode active or even a different keyboard. I've withdrawn my investment and won't be using the service again. I'll be investing in something better. Plus i never won a penny. Not that i thought i would anyway

Really positive experience with Premium…

Really positive experience with Premium Bonds so far.

I’ve had plenty of wins over time and just reinvest each one, which has worked out well. When I look at it annually, the returns have actually beaten what I’d get from a typical UK savings account.

Simple, low effort, and surprisingly rewarding.

Can’t fault NSandI

I find the NSandI app and prize checker very straightforward, both easy to use, easy to transfer funds and equally so in “cashing in” bonds. Thank you. Can’t fault it!
