I was delighted with the firepit and I thought it looked gorgeous when it was assembled. What I hadn’t perhaps realised was how big it was! It takes an enormous amount of wood (we had off cuts from here and there no logs), and in a land where none is available other than bits of driftwood this is a major problem!//I obtained some charcoal brickettes but the fumes were too strong for my breathing. I ordered charcoal on line as none of the shops locally nor in Kirkwall had it in stock (being too soon in the season) & the carriage costs were the same as the cost of the charcoal! Although your brochure does not specifically mention coal, I have bought a bag of smokeless fuel to see if this will be ok. All in all I think they are a great idea but perhaps not in Orkney where getting the wood for burning, and avoiding the wind whilst burning, is mighty difficult!

If its help And quality products your lookiing for. look no further than oak and ash this kamado joe i purchased is something else it does everything and more. certainly get what you pay for.

Had such a great experience with oak and ash, I bought a fire pit for my 21st birthday party, apart from it being absolutely gorgeous, they delivered it to my house with firefighters and even lit it for me! It really did make the party so much fun, we sat around it until the next morning and used it most weekends since!
