Ordered a 2Kg tub of mints plus a small variety of liquorice items.
Delivered in precisely 7 days and looked OK - from the outside. When opened found two of the half pound bags of sweets had burst and were distributed throughout the packaging. Almost certainly - as the package was packed so tight as to deny movement - the items were burst at the packing stage.
Would not have been too bad but the loose sweets were mainly in contact with a dirty piece of bubble wrap that had been placed around the tub of mints for some reason. Single piece of bubble wrap with most of the bubbles already flat!
Dropped then an email to complain - 3 weeks later a request for a photo!
Don't patronise them - the online is rubbish.

My sweets arrived today. Happy with all except one. The giant liquorice flyers is just a small bag of small flyers that I could buy anywhere. Inside my box was someone elses order as well as my own.I've contacted them about this and am waiting for a reply. I had to remind them about my order and didn't get a tracking number until after the e-mail I'd sent.

Over priced, arrived a month late for
Mother’s Day, and no response from customer services. Told me they had sent the sweets, lied and quickly sent it out. Informing me it was too late to cancel. Over charged for customs as well.

I have sent them emails, I have texted them, I have called them, I havent had a reply to any of them
They maybe the oldest sweet shop in the world but they have fgorgotten one thing, good mannersI thought Yorkshire was built on good manners and supposed to be Gods country, seems like they by pased this company
Theyb dont really care about negative reviews, they havent replied to any of them
Oh, well I ask PayPay for a refundI have just reiced a full refund from PayPal
They told me they have issued lots of refunds for this company
Use PayPal if you buy from them

I ordered some Invalid Toffee that I used to have as a child. I was excited to read that I could buy some from this shop as I have tried to find it but to no avail. I'm afraid that when I received the Toffee it was NOTHING like the Invalid Toffee from the 60s. Nice Toffee but like any other Toffee from any sweet shop or supermarket. VERY disappointing and expensive too.

There is a direct address link between them and a recently wound-down company on Companies House, Hamperwell. They do chocolate hampers, dubious quality and often substituted elements.
This bunch allege 'no connection' but all the marketing email from Hamperwell (still trading!) has the Oldest Sweet Shop address on it as 'Hamperwell', 39 High Street, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate. I would avoid at all costs any mail order chocolate delivery product.

In November I placed an order for £59. I have still not received the parcel. Have sent many emails and left many phone messages but have still not received a single response. The £59 has been paid - this constitutes theft.

I ordered and paid for 2 Jars of Pontefract cake.
Only 1 arrived .

I have emailed them several times , but had no reply.

I did wonder if it was simply an oversite on their part.

However having now read their reviews on both
Trust pilot and Facebook it would appear to be a common issue.

I wish I'd read them first .

Clearly they are a company to avoid.

I placed my order, and then, nothing… I had an order acknowledgment but no ‘order dispatched’ information. A week later I emailed to check all was well. No response. I emailed again a few days later. No response. I can only conclude that customer service is not a high priority for them. This was my first and last order.

Ordered a selection of Sweets, the Allsorts looked delicious, not so when they arrived, broken lumpy and hard, not nice at all. I emailed sending photos on the 4th December, no response, I emailed again on the 9th asking for a response, no reply. Very poor service, avoid. Will try to upload photo of sweets.

I placed order almost three weeks ago. They withdrew my money almost immediately.

I’ve reached out twice in the last two weeks since I never received anything.

The do not respond to my emails.

Unfortunately I was sent the wrong item, I reached out to whoever answers the emails, just to be told I ordered the right item. I sent a picture of my item and the other product which was basically crumbs in the packet and to tell you the truth it was like trying to get blood out of a stone, I wasn’t offered a replacement or even an apology. Do not buy from their online shop, customer service is disgraceful, I emailed on the 4th September, I got a reply back on Sunday at 8.36pm. Buyer beware, shame, customer satisfaction means nothing anymore. I wish I had read the reviews before buying.

Placed an online order with them and it was processed quickly, arrived promptly and well packaged.

What a lovely little shop this is. Takes you back in time looking at all those jars on the shelves behind the till. They had so many different sweets, you were definitely the kiddie in the sweetie shop trying to decide.
The two young men serving couldn’t of been more helpful which added to the overall experience. Looking forward to returning.

I wrote to them Twice and they couldn’t be bothered to write back,
They sent the wrong order’ won’t buy from them again! They also tell you 3/5 days delivery’s and it eventually got delivered 7 days after ordering

This was my first time ordering from this shop. I ordered some banana toffee and black and white mints were delivered. I sent a email with a picture of my order and a photo of what was sent out. It’s been over a week and I’ve had no response from this company. Very disappointing, I will not be ordering from this company again.

Excellent customer service with dealing with a change to the delivery address. My emails and phone calls were eventually returned and I was very impressed and grateful for the service and communication. Thank you for the amazing service

Falsely advertised sweets led to me spending over 20 and yet I’m having to wait for a refund!!! The shop decided to send out random sweets and nothing like what I’d ordered. They knew what I wanted and they could have saved me a lot of trouble instead I’ve had to refuse delivery and apparently in two weeks they’ll get said sweets back and I may get my money back then. Don’t use this company plenty honest ones out there!

Very prompt and reliable service. Good choice of Very enjoyable sweets.

Oh dear should have checked the weight
The big jars of sweeties have suddenly shrunk like a mishap in the Willie Wonka factory to a quarter of the size whilst retaining their original price
Parting is such sweet sorrow
That will save the kids teeth
Because I won’t be buying from here again …
