Being forced to use Wiley Online…
Being forced to use Wiley Online Library sucks, but they are the only ones that had what I needed for a project. Looking at the other reviews, I hoped that they had improved over the years, but sadly WOL is still a pure scam.
I bought "instant on-line access" to what was advertised as 2 volumes, 32 pages of foreword, 1385 pages of study (that is 76 years old) and about 710+ figures and tables, for $34 (incl. taxes).
I got access to the review of the study, which is a 5 page PDF with none of the information needed.
DO NOT USE THIS SITE! It can't be stressed enough. If you can find your information in ANY other way, use that method instead.
UPDATE (25-03-2026): Wiley got in contact and assured me they only sold the five pages (which is not apparent when I look at the page), and that the prize was right. Imagine if I had gone for the download option, that would have been $70+ for 5 pages. That is $14+ per page. If it would even have been possible to buy the whole study, that would run up to over $19k. For a 76-year-old study. That cost $25 in 1950 ($340 adjusted for inflation). If this looks greedy, it is because it IS. But I can't get the full text - only a useless review. So the point is moot.
Wiley agreed to a refund, but as they are staying in character, not a full refund. Quelle surprise.
