Thorough professionals
I have been working with Simon and Linette for nearly 2 years. They have helped me enormously in navigating the labyrinth of US-UK cross-border tax issues as I have moved from the USA to the UK. While I consider myself very well informed in both US & UK tax matters, the complexity arising in tax preparation and planning for someone subject to taxation in both countries would be overwhelming without the professional expertise provided by Optimise. There are so many pitfalls, with potentially huge financial consequences (i.e. $/£ penalties), and it really is a case of "unknown unknowns"; only when you get the right advice do you learn what didn't even realize you you needed to know. While such advice may not be inexpensive, the consequences of foregoing it make it a worthwhile investment. I recommend their services.

A disappointing end to what began as a great relationship
We were clients of this firm for around two years. At the start, the service was excellent — particularly from Louise, who was responsive, supportive and professional. I genuinely believed we had finally found a long-term accounting partner.
We proceeded with incorporation and were referred to a specialist company they recommended and fully endorsed. Our Ootimise account manager attended every meeting with that company, and at no stage were any concerns raised about the referral or process.
I spoke to one of the partners who congratulated me and advised a member of their team would contact us how to set up. Rather than a welcome letter we were terminated . I received an unexpected email informing me that they no longer wished to work with us. There was no warning, no conversation, and no attempt to support us through the transition. After repeated requests for clarification, the only explanation given was “business restructuring.”
What I found particularly disappointing was that the partners I had previously trusted and communicated with did not contact us directly. Instead, communication was handed over to a PR representative, which felt evasive and unprofessional — especially after such close involvement up to that point.
This left us without support at a critical moment for our business, despite the fact that they promote themselves as specialists for exactly this type of client.
While the relationship began very positively, the way it ended has unfortunately damaged my confidence in the firm. The only silver lining is that we have now engaged a new accountant whose level of support, clarity and professionalism fully reflects the fees they charge — and we are far bettered served as a result. discovered today that my previous review has disappeared along no doubt with other bad reviews. optimise withdrew their services because I pointed out their error (which they said was due to computer when it was most likely human). this left me in the lurch. fortunately I found a much better (and cheaper) chartered accountant who im still with. I posted a review at that time and got nasty threats of litigation from Simon. these were empty threats but shows the sort of people they are. also at that time his wife who seems to run the show was not a qualified accountant - I recall she was a chartered procurer! they were not a firm of chartered accountants so there was limited address to the professional bodies. they may employ chartered accountants but the firm isnt and still isnt from looking at their website. beware.
REPLY TO REPLY - thanks Simon but everything I said was true and your solicitors threat was about my review and not about social media. also the issue was not about delay but about a very basic error in the co. house statement, and any apologies were hard won after blaming computer error and general defensiveness. there was no discussion about future services being withdrawn - your wife just announced that they would be after I had been paying monthly for very little as the accounts for that year had not been prepared. you havent explained why my bad review and others have disappeared.
REPLY 09/10/25 - thanks for second response. unfortunately there are some errors. you state that the letter your solicitor wasnt about my review but in fact was about social media posts. if you were to check the letter for yourself you will see the first sentence states:
'We are instructed by the aforementioned client in relation to statements posted by you on wwwpropertytribes.com and google reviews...'
So it was about my review and the second page requests removal of the review. There was a clear attempt to influence the reviews by intimidation. I dont think property tribes constitutes 'social media' - it is a specialist property forum where information and advice is shared among members.
There was no breakdown in communication from my end. Louises decision to withdraw services was a surprise. I doubt very much that anyone was crying over my emails! these were were polite and proportional.
my recollection is that the main professional bodies couldnt investigate as optimise were not a firm of chartered accountants and ACCA website misleadingly listed optimise as chartered accountants. This is what ACCA said:

My name is Hilary, Complaints Lead within ACCA. Your case has been passed to me by my colleague Carol-Anne to review and respond.
Having read your previous correspondence and having investigated your case, I must reaffirm that we are required to show details on our website of firms where one or more of the firm’s partners are practicing ACCA members.
I do appreciate however, that the information on the "Find an Accountant" pages of our website, was not as detailed or specific as you had hoped.
As advised previously, we appreciate your thoughts and have taken your feedback on board, your comments were initially passed onto our Change Request Process Group to discuss and consider.
I can confirm that following the subsequent process group meeting, held just a few weeks after your initial comments, it was agreed that we would review our website with a view to adding clarity to our membership, in addition a request was passed to our Authorisations Team to consider the most suitable way to display this.
As I am sure you can appreciate, such changes can take some time to effect, and a change to this specific section of our database does require approval from our Compliance team as well as other specialised areas of the business.
At this stage, I can confirm that wording has now been agreed and passed to internal stakeholders for approval pre implementation. I understand that my colleague Gina has advised she will notify you when the website has been changed and the information updated.
Whilst I appreciate your strength of thought on the matter, regrettably at this point, I cannot advise you of a confirmed date when this is likely to be amended.

Optimise Accountants is a UK-registered firm established in 2003, supporting over a thousand clients nationwide.
Our firm is led by Louise Misiewicz, who manages a team of fully qualified accountants — all ACCA members and most also ATT-qualified.
We take client confidentiality and professional conduct very seriously and therefore do not discuss individual client matters in public forums.
In this case, the issue related to a system delay in filing a Companies House confirmation statement, which was resolved and followed by multiple apologies. We acted swiftly once the matter was raised and worked to ensure no lasting impact.
We raised legal concerns only after false and unsubstantiated social media statements were made about our team.
Optimise Accountants has been reviewed by our professional regulatory bodies, who confirmed that no disciplinary action was warranted and that the matter was formally closed following our prompt cooperation.
We do not remove Trustpilot reviews; moderation and visibility are managed solely by Trustpilot’s systems.
We remain committed to providing accurate, compliant tax advice and maintaining a respectful environment for both clients and staff.

To clarify, the legal correspondence referred to your social media posts, not your review, as these included statements that were factually incorrect about our qualifications and conduct. The intent was simply to protect our team and ensure accurate information was shared.
The difficult decision to end our engagement followed a breakdown in communication. Some correspondence had become distressing for staff to a point of them crying and our priority had to be maintaining a safe and respectful working environment.
For transparency, Optimise Accountants was founded in 2003 and employs a team of fully qualified accountants, including ACCA and ATT members, led by Louise Misiewicz, who manages the firm’s operations.
We do not have control over the visibility of reviews on Trustpilot, which manages moderation independently.
We sincerely wish you well with your new accountant and appreciate your feedback, which helps us reflect and continue improving the service we provide to all clients.
As this matter was fully reviewed by both the ACCA and the IFA, who found no grounds for any disciplinary action against our firm, we consider it formally closed. We will not be responding to any further comments on this thread, as we believe continued discussion would not be beneficial for you, for us, or for readers seeking balanced insight into our services.

Truly professional and excellent knowledge +customer service
I have been with Optimise accountants for about a year, and I'm sincerely impressed with their professionalism and customer service. I found them via Youtube as they had some great useful content. Then when I needed to start my property Ltd company I thought they would be the best accountants to go with in terms of property and so far I'm very impressed. I spoke with Simon and have had emails and calls with other members of the team who have been so helpful and polite with admin etc. I have my account manager - Sheba that I work with, she has been fantastic in helping me with my Year end accounts and submitting them, and answering any questions, everyone is very organised, they also know good tips too that some accountants don't tell you. I definitely recommend them!
