Seeing the NHS logo was misleading and…
Seeing the NHS logo was misleading and irritating. My details will remain private and secure, but for how long? How long before these details are sold to an American company and our NHS is undermined.
If this had been an NHS letter I'm sure my attitude would have been different.
DO NOT GO THERE!
You will have to block them after you've signed up.
Sites nowhere near you to give samples.
They will not give up. BLOCK them.
Where is diet in the questionnaire?
I have just filled in the questionnaire and am surprised and a little disappointed that there were no questions about diet as I think this is crucial to good health and avoidance of diseases such as diabetes. I am sure that my own continuing good health at the age of 86 is mostly due to diet and as much exercise as time and the weather will allow. Good family genes help of course!
Questionable research
This is a comment on their scientific methodology. Living in Devon I was offered a clinic in three places in South Wales, great if you can swim, one in Bristol about 80 miles away and then Southhampton 142 miles away. For your time and travel expenses the incentive is a £10 voucher. That should cover about 22 of those miles at civil service rates. If you live in some parts of Cornwall it will be 190 miles. A bit shorter if you take your helicopter to South Wales.
Who in these areas is going to bother? The people in big towns in South Wales and presumably some big towns in England but not Plymouth, Exeter and Bournemouth. Maybe the SW is an exception but I doubt it.
So they will learn about the health of people living in large towns who give up their time for the survey and a blood sample. Not exactly how science should be done. Yet they are led by a clinical epidemiologist who should know all about bias in research.
DNA mining
This will be for selling data on. It is DNA mining. Survelliance of population. The fact they still cant get people to sign up is interesting. Around 2 million people signed up some time ago.
Don't continue to be a guinea pig.
Pay attention to what big pharma are doing.
Hmmm. ourfuturehealth.org
ourfuturehealth.org is genuinely aligned with the NHS apparently but I'm very uncomfortable with how and why they contacted me. The letter they randomly sent just looks and reads like the kind of thing scammers would send. I'm staying on the safe side and binning it.
Too complicated and too much time
Im quite happy to help out and give information that may be of use. Unfortunately I didn't get to answer any questions as the login was way too complicated with account passwords, links and 'we've sent a verification code'. I drive a lorry, i don't want to be a computer wizard. Good luck with your surveys, but its too complicated for its own good
Now I've got to verify im human to trustpilot
Junk mail it is, then
I too received this letter addressed not to me but my address and lured by the 'In partnership with the NHS' didn't scan the QR code but went to the website. Or rather didn't, as it doesn't exist. Hooray.
Received this strange letter to my house.
Received this letter to my house.
The NHS Scotland logo looked genuine, but the signatories' names did raise an eyebrow.
The £10 offer for doing a sample did not tempt me, but as advertised that 2m had signed up, seems a huge amount of cash involved, all from different "health" sources.
I know NHS Scotland has not that amount to waste.
Did not proceed beyond my name.
A scam selling your personal information?
This appears to an organisation buying detailed personal information, to be sold for financial gain, under the guise of being sanctioned by the NHS. A big scam in my opinion.
I'm so glad i checked on here
I'm so glad i checked on here, i received a letter this morning and i nearly started to fill this in and give all my details!
I thought it was genuine and part of an NHS survey !! Surely these letters could be stopped by Royal mail? doesn't anyone check for this type of scam? There will be people that don't know to check on trust pilot??
Don't go anywhere near this
Don't go anywhere near this. I got a letter in the post, looked legit, filled in a few basic questions. Decided to scan the QR code in the letter instead and it took me to a firm of lawyers who wanted to represent me for mis-sold car finance 🤷.I shut it down. This has to be a scam. Avoid at all costs.
Not for NHS, private 'for profit' company
I got a letter from this company wanting me to fill in a comprehensive health questionaire and give blood too. They have a blue and white NHS logo top right along with the words "In Partnership with".
Doing the minimum of research it's clear that this is a private "for profit" company looking for 5 million people to give up their time, privacy, data and blood! for next to nothing (a £10 voucher mentioned which is almost nothing and ONLY if you give blood - if you just give your time and energy forget it)
Lots of people will see the NHS logo and think it is for the benefit of the NHS, it isn't.
A privately owned company just asking for all your details, plus your blood!
This is a private company working "in partnership" with the NHS.
What it is, is the beginning of the privatisation of UK healthcare, the tests will reveal which conditions are prevalent, and which will offer the most profitable return, and give plenty of time for them to plan for.
There is zero doubt in my mind that this data will be sold to the pharmacy industries or anyone else who can profit from it.
I'm not giving my DNA to a company who address their letter to "All Occupants", just as I wouldn't give my personal details and blood to anybody bar my GP or consultant.
I changed my mind and opted out
I have already answered a set of questions and was sent a voucher that I couldn't use.
After receiving another form today, I did some research and found that this is Not run by the NHS to help the NHS but rather, offering a £10 voucher for your DNA with the possibility that this will not help the NHS at all. There are many things we protect, we protect our homes and computers so why give our DNA to people we don't know and which could easily become either stolen or sold at any future date?
Remember, the Nazis culled those with certain diseases and with the rise of the far right, this has the possibility of ending in disaster. And I know this may sound outlandish. But so is war. So is Genocide.
Really dubious organisation
Really dubious organisation, it wouldnt surprise me if they patented anything and everything useful they find out from your info and dna. I chose not to proceed.
OUR FUTURE HEALTH, MY ASSESMENT
I AM 78, THERE A OLD SAYING THAT I WISH I HAD STUCK TO THROUGH THE YEARS, AND IT IS
( WHEN IN DOUBT, DONT.)
I was tempted to log on and sign up, but after reading a few reviews, especially about the millions of pounds they make a year, it sounds like a money-making organisation. There's nothing wrong with making a profit, but when you're making millions, there has to be a catch.
Decided not to proceed
I thought I'd give this a second go as I withdrew (or tried to) from a previous survey after a few questions but got a letter asking me to complete. However, the first questions were about my home ownership status and how I heat the house - suspiciously like the kind of data that might be sold on commercially. With more clarity on how these data relate to a health survey I'd be happier. Also I'd like to be able to see all the questions at the beginning of the survey, so that I don't enter info and later on decide I don't want to respond.
i joined but then withdrew
i joined but then cancelled, Cancellation was made as hard as possible, Reasons were they are using non nhs blood testing facilities and expecting me to travel 40 miles to do so. Also some of the questions have no connection to health like do i or do i not have a mortgage, All very supicious and its not clear whether this is really of benifit to just the NHS
Thank heavens for Trustpilot
I was just going to join this what I assumed was a citizen science project having been sent a letter but the details on who was running it was very vague, I felt something was a bit "fishy".
So I turned to trusty Trustpilot and started reading the very helpful 197 reviews and decided I definitely would not be joining even for the promised tenner!!
