Fraudulent magazine subscription!

What a shocking company!

I took out a magazine subscription 5 years ago through buysubscriptions.com. It was £31 annually.

They have "migrated" over my account to our media, which I was emailed about, but they don't tell you how to manage your subscription or even what their own website is to find out!

Just had £32 taken out by them so eventually found their website only to see that they have changed me to a 6 monthly subscription!
I've had no communication about this. It's happened at least 2 years ago (I've changed banks so can't check earlier) so essentially they have committed fraud & stolen at least £66 from me!

There's no customer service at all. Still waiting for their response to this theft!

Absolutely awful company

Absolutely awful company. They make it as hard as possible to cancel a subscription, in the hopes that you'll give up and continue. There's no way of cancelling on the website, only on a paid for number.
So, after being on hold for ages, i spoke to an operator, who first said that it was too late to cancel as the next direct debit would be taken the following day. I said I wished not to receive another 6 issues and to pay another 6 month payment and could it be cancelled instead, before that payment was taken. She then confirmed that it COULD be cancelled and stated that no money would be debited from my account, but sounded hesitant.
Today the money was debited anyway. I should have realised that they would just lie and take my money anyway! I will never use this company ever again!

Ordered the Tour de France guide on the…

Ordered the Tour de France guide on the 26th June, still not arrived. Was told the replacement was issued then told there was no stock! The. Told it was refunded on the 16th of July. Now on the 30th of July as still no refund. The customer service, well what customer service! They never reply to emails within a timely manner nor call you back. Avoid this outfit. They are not fit for purpose!

DO NOT USE Scam / con / rip off

Ordered Tour De France magazine, as per other reviews, it has not arrived. Rang customer services, obviously an overseas call centre. Not interested said it will be delivered by 23.07.24 by which time the event has finished. The man I spoke to said the delay was due to postal disruption - utter tosh.
Why would it take so long to arrive when it is a current event. I have zero confidence of it ever arriving so will be back on to customer service for a full refund.
Disgraceful

Very poor service

Very poor service. Ordered Tour de France Guide like a previous contributor. Order was placed on 27th June as couldn't find a guide in the shops. This was a couple of days before TDF started, it stated that item would be delivered within 5 working days.
Writing this on 16th July, within final week of TDF, no guide has arrived. So what use is it now really?
Any contact with Our Media is very slow. Took 2 days to be given an apology and told item would take 14 working days to be delivered???
If you are selling a guide for an event why would it take so long to deliver?
After seeing previous reviews I can't be doing with this mob so got a refund via Pay Pal.
Avoid.

Our Media Shop .com is a scam…

Our Media Shop .com is a scam company.Ordered a £12 magazine on 15 th June not delivered .Rang the company up on a premium line number at 55 pence per minute.Said I would get my mag in three days - nothing in the post.Do not touch this company with a barge pole.They are crooks of the first order.

Poor Service

Avoid.

Signed up for a year of WOCS.
I have received 2 copies out of 12 and they have cancelled my subscription.
What a shambles of a company as Customer Service are not interested.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. I took out a subscription to a crochet magazine in July 23. Rubbish magazine so I decided not to renew after the trial period ended. I was unable to log in to MyMedia as I could not remember my password and the reset wasn’t working so I emailed them to make sure they cancelled my subscription before any further payment was taken. I emailed them again last month to say I was still receiving the magazine even though I cancelled it. No reply and today I see they have taken a direct debit for another 6 months. The bank say that although you can cancel a direct debit you have to inform the company otherwise they may set it up again.
Update. They finally responded to say they were cancelling the subscription and issuing a refund. The refund has not arrived. They keep saying they have sent it and ignoring my requests for confirmation of account name and number so I can chase with the bank. The contact number on their website does not work. Absolute bunch of crooks. AVOID!

Still no refund, contact or decent customer service....

Purchased a craft magazine subscription April 2022 - Mollie's Makes - which came with a free gift and a monthly magazine. The magazine was rubbish - mainly just full of adverts, few decent craft projects and the internet support and instruction that was offered was always behind. The magazine was cancelled half way through my subscription and they decided to send out an alternative magazine for the remainder but the subject of this was not relevant or of any use to me. I contacted customer service by telephone to be told that they would stop the magazine but I would have to ring back in July 2023 for my refund of the remaining subscription. I did this to no avail. Kept being told that someone would issue it but nothing. I then received a message from OurMedia about my data. I emailed them asking that they remove my data under the data protection act and advised re the issue with my refund. Their head of business intelligence forwarded my refund request to the subscriptions support team but I still received no contact or refund. This was in December 2023. I then left this for a while to give them time to contact but again nothing. I emailed the head again to let him know nothing had happened and again he emailed them and copied me in and still no contact or refund issued. A terrible experience from the start. The magazine folded because it could not generate enough sales and not surprised as it was an advertisers paradise with little for the reader. Then poor customer service too which is a shame as our first subscription from this company was seamless with no issues at all. I will not use this company again as I feel that I cannot trust that I will get what I have paid for.

Stay clear, if you are an advertiser

If you are an advertiser: Stay Clear!

This media company cannot and does not deliver.

It is highly doubtful that the 'case studies' of other advertisers we were shown are based in facts. There is certainly no evidence that the team and the publications represented have the resources or the distribution to deliver the outcomes suggested - or even just some of the outcomes.

We dealt with their parent company a few years back - and stopped working with them for the same reason. I had hoped that the company had cleaned up its act - but it is still the same.
