Very poor work and stubborn refusal to refund anything.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but on this occasion I feel compelled to share my experience.
I paid £250 for OvenGleamers to clean my one-metre range cooker. When I booked the appointment, I was advised that the clean would take approximately four hours. That gave me the clear expectation that the oven would receive a comprehensive, meticulous clean.
Instead, the technician was at my property for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes before leaving. In my opinion, there is a huge difference between a four-hour professional clean and one completed in just over an hour. I genuinely feel I was misled when booking the service, as the time spent bore little resemblance to the expectation that had been created.
Later , when I was able to inspect the oven properly, I found a number of areas where grease, residue and carbon deposits remained. I photographed these areas and submitted them to OvenGleamers as part of my complaint.
To be fair, OvenGleamers responded promptly and repeatedly offered to return under their Satisfaction Guarantee to address the areas I had highlighted. However, by that stage I had completely lost confidence in the service. Once trust has been lost, I don't believe a customer should feel obliged to invite the same company back into their home.
What disappointed me most was not simply the quality of the clean, but the company's refusal to offer any form of goodwill refund despite the significant difference between what I believed I was purchasing and what I ultimately received.
I have owned and run my own business for over 25 years, so I understand that complaints arise from time to time. The true measure of a business is how it resolves them. Unfortunately, despite several polite exchanges with the Franchise Operations team, OvenGleamers refused to offer any refund whatsoever and maintained that a revisit was the only solution.
This review reflects my personal experience. Others may have a different one, but based on mine I would not use OvenGleamers again.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you remain dissatisfied, but several points require clarification.
The four-hour duration discussed when booking was an estimate, not a fixed amount of time being purchased. We give a general time for a range clean. So they can be cleaned faster if they have less compartments and as in your case don't have a gas hob but a ceramic one. We have the technician arriving at your house at 1300 and leaving at 1530. So although this time may have been shorter the full strip down deep clean would have been carried out during that time with removable components cleaned using the specialist equipment in the technician’s van and the oven cleaned with an eco paste in your home. Both of your oven door seals were broken. We managed to repair one of them.
We note from the photographs we took that your kitchen was in mid renovation with dust everywhere and the cooker completely covered in dust at the start. We wouldn't recommend having a range cleaned in mid build as it will always get dusty again.
Before leaving, the technician invited you to inspect the completed work. You confirmed that you were happy with the clean and signed the job sheet. Our photographs taken before and after the service show a substantial improvement to the range cooker and the whole deep oven clean was carried out.
The clean took place on 20 May. We first became aware of your concerns on 1 June, and the requested photographs were received on 12 June.
Having reviewed your post 5 clean photographs, the areas highlighted appear to be limited to a number of very small locations, such as the bottom storage drawer corners and hinges. Whilst we appreciate these concerns, the photographs do not indicate that the clean as a whole was not completed or that the service was not carried out to a professional standard. The photos show that your kitchen is still very dusty, and so now is your range cooker, so I'm guessing you are still in the process of carrying out building works. You submitted pictures of the dirty splash back which you didn't book into be cleaned. On your Google review you have included pictures of your dirty extractor again this wasn't booked in to be cleaned by us.
As you may know, OvenGleamers operates a Satisfaction Guarantee. If a customer is unhappy with any aspect of a clean, our normal procedure is to return free of charge and rectify any specific areas of concern. We were therefore more than happy to arrange for an OvenGleamer to revisit and address the points highlighted in your photographs and to remove the build up of dust.
We repeatedly offered to return free of charge.
You declined that remedy and instead requested a refund of £250, later proposing £150 in exchange for concluding the matter. As the service had been completed, inspected and accepted on the day—and we remained willing to rectify the specific concerns raised—we did not consider a refund appropriate.
You said that if we didn't give you a refund you would post this review, which you sent to us to preview.
We genuinely regret that you chose not to allow us the opportunity to resolve those concerns through the free return visit offered.

Lee is a miracle worker! My range oven hasn't shone like this since it was new. He arrived at the time he said he would, and just got on with the job despite it being another hot day. Very pleased with the booking service and the fabulous results. Thank you so much.

My dual fuel range cooker is immaculate after being cleaned by Oven Gleamers. I am delighted with the results and also pleased that there is no unpleasant chemical smell left after cleaning. I would definitely recommend Oven Gleamers; the only slight quibble I have is with the price, but I realise that I am probably behind the times and the clean did take 3 hours!

Came home to a brand new oven
My oven was very neglected probably due to my previous oven being self cleaning, I just got out of the habit, last time I cleaned it, it took me nearly all day. Next time I promised myself I would call in the professionals. Ovengleamers were recommended to me by my friend. Friendly and very accommodating from the 1st contact. Kevin cleaned my oven and was very professional. I went to work with an oven that I was embarrassed of and came home to a brand new sparkling oven. Thank you so much.

Catherine you have given me no option
Catherine you have given me no option, to do this, as I thought we left on good terms, I only worked for oven gleamers in the office for a month, I could not carry on as it was not for me, making up to 70 plus calls a day to customers. I was. Not enjoying the work, so I left when recently was offered a role, my new company spoke to me and told me that Catherine had given me a bad reference, I for one would not recommend this company to work for, when Catherine seems to be a jekle and Hyde character blowing hot and cold daily, am glad am out of it

Gouging extra money
Despite excellent cleaning undertaken by Sammy, I sadly have to give a poor review to this company. On booking I was sent a payment link for £296. I then received a text message (after payment) to tell me the price was actually £353 and so I needed to pay extra. I did this.
On the day Sammy arrived late due to an earlier job running for longer than expected. When the office called me to let me know I informed them that I needed the work finished by a certain time (30 minutes later than the block of time we had agreed) and that if he couldn't finish it in that time we would need either to reschedule or for him to do some of the work and come back on a later day to finish. Sammy has done some lovely work on the AGA, but when I spoke to the office to arrange for him to come and finish the job later in the week they informed me that they would have to charge me an additional call out fee for this. This was not mentioned in their T&Cs and seems inappropriate as the missed window for the work was their issue, not mine.

I'm sorry about the mix-up with the pricing communication (we realised that we needed to charge extra for travelling time as you were out of our area) and for running late on the day — that was down to an earlier job overrunning, and I appreciate that's frustrating when you have your own schedule to keep to but some jobs run longer than the time slot we've allocated to them.
I can't remember a time before where we couldn't finish a clean on the day because we ran out of time. But two things contributed to this: your AGA was a bigger clean than the time slot we allocated to a four oven AGA and you had to leave meaning we couldn't finish it on the day.
I'm pleased we were able to get back out to you and complete the job to your satisfaction shortly afterwards and you were very happy with our service. Thank you again for your patience.
