Dominic was by far the best sales person I’ve dealt with. From day one I was a little skeptical because I was use to getting the run around when you’re indecisive about which vehicle you want to purchase. Right from the beginning he never tried to sell me on anything. He heard what I thought my options were and encouraged me to shoot a little higher because he was confident I wouldn’t have to settle. I had a few other options but once I told them I was shopping I never heard back from the other sellers. This was my first time financing a truck and he completely walked me through the process and helped along the way. I’ve learned so much from him that I’m sure I’ll be back for my second truck!

What You Should Know Before Buying a…
What You Should Know Before Buying a Used Truck from Penske
Before purchasing a used truck from Penske, there are several things you should be aware of based on my personal experience.
1. The truck may not actually be at the advertised location.
Even though the truck is listed for sale, it may still be out on rental and being operated by someone else.
2. Expect possible delays.
I was told it could take 3–4 weeks to get the truck ready. The reason for the delay was that the truck was still being used as a rental.
3. Ask questions about the truck’s actual condition and status.
Make sure you understand whether the truck is currently in service, being rented, or available for immediate purchase. Also, verify the truck’s condition and classification rather than relying solely on the advertised information.
4. Understand the deposit and cancellation terms.
Penske may require a $1,000 deposit. Before paying, carefully read the contract and make sure you understand what happens to your deposit if you decide not to wait for the truck.
5. Read the entire purchase agreement.
Make sure all important terms regarding availability, preparation time, deposits, and cancellations are clearly understood before signing anything. Don’t wait until you’re frustrated to discover what the contract says.
My Recommendation
If you need a truck immediately, I recommend asking detailed questions about availability and delivery time before purchasing from Penske. Based on my personal experience, I have had a much better buying experience with Schneider Used Trucks.
This is based on my own experience and the situations I personally encountered. I recommend that every buyer do their own research, ask questions, and carefully review the contract before purchasing a used truck.
