I should have used Pest UK from the start!
When I first called Pest UK, I thought the service was expensive. So, I decided to use a cheaper service with another company. This treatment was terrible. I then used another company to do the heat treatment, and this service was also terrible.
None of those other services were BPCA certified, and I didn’t realise how important this additional qualification is because it means that they’re able to buy the necessary pesticide to deal with the job.
On top of this, the first thing Pest UK stated upon inspection is that they completely dismantled the bed and steamed every single corner and crevice. It’s at this point that I realised none of the other companies even dismantled the bed; they just sprayed the bed on top of it.
In summary, I only had dealings with James Howell, but he filled me with the utmost confidence that the problem will be dealt with, and through his thorough inspection and thorough spraying and steaming, it’s the first time I felt any feeling of confidence since this situation started.
For anyone who’s dealt with bedbugs, you know the mental battle that you’re going to go through to try and sleep at night because you have to sleep in the same room in order to draw out any potential survivors. After dealing with James Howell today, it is the first time I have felt confident enough to sleep in the room.
The truth is I ended up spending the same amount on the other two terrible companies that Pest UK quoted me in the first place.
In summary, don’t make the same mistake I did. Quality comes at a cost, and it’s definitely worth paying these guys.
