After buying Aldi teabags and Tesco teabags mainly because of cost I decided on my last shop to buy PG tips and I was disappointed this tea is worse than the cheap brands terrible taste. What the hell have they done to it?

Recently purchased a box of tea bags which had a manufacturing defect tried to contact customer services gave them the manufacturing code number and best before date. That wasn't enough wanted the ins and outs of my inside trouser leg, absolute joke. They have clearly lost the plot with customer reviews on new taste and poor customer service they don't have a lot going for them

Unfortunately the new tea blend is awful! They should have brought in the new version as an alternative. Bring back the old blend!!

What have they done? I've been drinking PG my entire adult life, and unfortunately last night my previously enormous stash of great tasting pyramid bags was finally exhausted. These new bags make a brew similar to how I'd imagine dishwater to taste, bland with putrid notes. I was left with no choice other than to throw the remaining 209 bags into the bin, as there's no one I dislike enough to give them to, I even kind of felt sorry for the bin afterward, but hey, on the bright side, if there is anyone out there with the palate of a pig you now only have to wait a fifth of the time for your cuppa to brew. I sincerely hope I can find an alternative brand soon, as I'm already suffering from tea withdrawal.

Bring Back the Pyramids!

I never thought I’d be writing a review about the shape of a teabag, but here we are. The new square PG Tips teabags have honestly taken something away from my tea-drinking experience — and it’s not just the better brew.

The old pyramid-shaped bags were perfect, and not just for making a better, richer cup of tea (which they absolutely did). For me, they were nostalgic. Every time I’d pop one into my mug, I’d be reminded of sitting on my grandfather’s knee, watching documentaries about ancient Egypt. The shape of those little teabags mirrored the pyramids we’d marvel at on the screen — symbols of wonder, history, and warmth. Just like those moments with him.

The new square bags? They’re… flat. Functional, maybe, but uninspired. The tea doesn’t brew as well — you can taste the difference — and that little spark of memory and comfort I got from the pyramid shape is gone.

PG Tips, if you’re listening: please bring back the pyramids. It was more than just a teabag — it was a perfect brew and a little piece of history in every cup.

Am not happy with the new taste of P.G, and I will.never buy it again. For many years have been buying P.G, everytime I travel to U.K, and I do give family as gift as well. I really love P.G. I drink the tea almost everyday. Recently I bought a big cartoon from Aldi. I open the pack, the tea bag design was different, I overlook that, but when I prepare the tea, the tea is so horrible in taste, not strong P.G feeling anymore, is just like wasting money. Shame on the company, for making this stupid changes without letting their customer knows about it. This is not P.G Tea. I will never buy from them.again.

I've drank PG Tips all my life as my mother used it. I've also served it in various cafes, bars and hotels that I've owned. Last year advised to switch to Decaf for health reasons and got used to it, but have just bought a new box and it's disgusting. So I bought a box of ordinary yesterday and that is disgusting as well. I don't like Yorkshire tea so don't know what to switch to. Why can't they leave things alone?

Absolutely gone downhill used to be my favourite but now it's tetley all the way. Bags are flimsy and all the tea comes out in the cup.
Back to tetley permanently now

PG Tips pyramid bags have been for many years my 'go to' product - a design and taste triumph. I however reiterate the comments of many others in saying the new product is the complete opposite. It has no taste at all and the bags are prone to breaking in the cup leaving a fine gravelly residue. With regret I shall be switching to a more premium brand.

Well what can i say, from the reviews so far PG Tips has gone down!!! i have recently changed to pg from Tetley bags but will change back ASAP to Tetley as PG are rubbish!!! the taste is different, the bags break up when you tear them apart. why did they go away from the pyramid bag? Maybe because they have been taken over?

Since discontinuing the pyramid bags the taste has completely changed and it's not nice. Why change something that customers were satisfied with??

Another long term drinker of PG Tips.,, just wasted £7 on a bulk buy and its... undrinkable. It now tastes like that vile Liptons stuff that was the only thing you could get if you left the shores of the UK.

No taste to PG Tips tea and more. As a household that gets through 2 of the 210 bag boxes a month I have been totally disgusted with the one so bought in January. They are noting like the previous ones and have no flavour- utterly disgusting. Will be resorting to alternative brands unless you change back the flavour. In the meantime I will not drink any more and have resorted to Yorkshire and Twinings , but I still prefer your previous recipe. Why don’t you test amongst your heavy users before making such a significant change.

We have noticed a significant demise in the quality of PG Tips tea bags.
We have bought them for many years, however, now they are bland and we will no longer be purchasing them!!

Some young wan called Elizabeth said its better than Barry's and lyons and when I tried it, it was nowhere near as good. Tiocfaidh ár lá

I’m a Texan and have made iced tea with only pg tips for years. The old blend in the pyramid bags made the best iced tea ever. One bag with 2 quarts boiling water was perfect. Just leave the bag in until it cools, pour over ice and you’re good. They’re leaving money on the table not selling this for iced tea. The new tea is just sad and cheap tasting.

I can't believe how much the taste of PG Tips has changed. They have spent £50m and have totally ruined their product. Are they completely insane??
The company also needs to look up the meaning of 'ORIGINAL' which is displayed boldly on their packaging!!

I’ve been drinking PG Tips since I was child, so some 50 years. What an earth were they thinking of by creating this new flowery drink, it’s awful. Anyway we’ve now switched to Tetley, which is a lovely brew. Sadly I will not be returning to PG.
