Not more convenient.
Signed up as I thought it would be more convenient. Nope, wasted more time chatting with their "support" staff. What a headache.

Signed up as I thought it would be more convenient. Nope, wasted more time chatting with their "support" staff. What a headache.
I needed a prescription renewal, which meant that Pillway had to request this from my Doctor. The status for my order remained at ‘awaiting prescription renewal’ until I followed up with them 10 days later, having seen no change of status. I used the chat function, and learned that they had sent the request to a very out of date location for my doctor. Having been advised that I wasn’t a patient of that clinic, no further steps were taken by Pillway, leaving me out of my medication. They just did nothing. Totally failed process. Clearly no checking or follow through. Do not use this service. I’m also appalled that Sun Life have invested in and are using this ‘service’.
Unfortunately, my experience with Pillway Pharmacy has been very disappointing. The service is extremely unorganized, medications have been mixed up or mistakes have been made, and everything seems to take far too long to get resolved.
I have tried to be patient, but the repeated errors and slow service have made dealing with the pharmacy very frustrating. At this point, I feel like I am constantly having to follow up and make sure my medications are being handled correctly.
The only reason I am still with Pillway is because I have not yet found another pharmacy that provides medication packets with reliable delivery. The moment I find a pharmacy that can provide this service properly, I will leave Pillway without hesitation.
I really hope management takes these issues seriously, because medication is not something that should be handled in such a disorganized manner.
I submitted a script on June 8th. it needed to be verified. June 11th I was told it needed to be sent to a compounding pharmacy. That's fine. It is now June 25th and I am out of my current prescription and no one will get back to me. The absolute worst experience I have had with a pharmacy. The fact that my employee and Manulife support this is mind blowing - and not in a good way.
My insurance company, Manulife, recommended Pillway, clearly as a partner since they offer a lower filling price. At first, it sounded like a great and convenient option. However, the experience quickly became frustrating. What was supposed to be a transfer of one prescription (the only one I wanted to move to save money) turned into a three‑week process, and Pillway transferred all of my prescriptions without my approval.
After several back‑and‑forth chats, I was informed that they ship using Purolator, which immediately concerned me. Purolator is notoriously unreliable without a signature, and I’m often at work when they attempt deliveries.
To make matters worse, I was then told that my full refill wasn’t even available. They didn’t have the full quantity of pills I needed and only carry generic versions of half of my medications. Discovering all of this after going through a three‑week transfer process is extremely frustrating.
I came to Pillway specifically to get brand‑name medication at a lower cost, only to find out—weeks later, and as they’re preparing to ship—that they only stock generic versions. This whole experience has been disappointing and unnecessarily stressful.
Extremely Disappointing Experience with Pillway (SunLife). I transferred to Pillway through my employer specifically to better support my health needs. Instead, this has been one of the most stressful and upsetting pharmacy experiences I’ve ever had.
Despite submitting my refill request well in advance, Pillway messed up my address by failing to include my unit number. Purolator confirmed that the shipment was not labeled as medication and that the address error was the reason delivery failed. As a result, I am now without mandatory medication for three days.
What makes this even worse is that Pillway does not provide weekend customer support, unlike a regular pharmacy. When something goes wrong—as it did here—there is no one available to help, no way to escalate, and no contingency plan for patients who rely on daily medication. That is completely unacceptable for a service positioning itself as a healthcare solution.
This experience has caused unnecessary stress and anxiety and has directly impacted my health. I trusted this service because it was promoted through my employer and associated with Sun Life, but the lack of accountability, poor delivery handling, and absence of basic patient support have proven otherwise.
This has been a horrible experience, and I will be sharing this feedback with my company to strongly recommend that Pillway not be promoted as a reliable pharmacy option for employees—especially those with critical or time-sensitive medication needs.
This "Pharmacy" kept being pushed through the SunLife App. I did not realize that signing up for Pillway would legally transfer all of my prescriptions to this pharmacy in BC as it was marketed and framed as a "simple, digital way to see all your prescriptions". Now my pharmacy in Calgary, AB is saying they cannot legally refill my prescription. Pillway didn't even transfer over my most important prescription (the one I use the most frequently) even though it says "all prescriptions have been transferred". Customer Service has not gotten back to me. Their Chat Support on their website is also useless. Would NOT recommend. If you have SunLife, please be very wary about signing up for this "digital tool".
Support staff asked a series of questions when I requested a refill, then after 3 days said "your prescription has expired". Suggested I use their "See a doctor" feature which I did, obtaining an appointment time and date. When no doctor called at the appointment time and date I made another inquiry. Now 5 days have expired and I am informed of an unwritten prerequisite that was not met. Went to a local clinic and waited 2 hours to receive a new prescription. Needless to say I am NOT a Pillway customer.
My insurance company recommended this pharmacy. My first call was excellent. The woman was very helpful and I thought this was going to be great.
I then transferred my prescriptions over and nothing....didn't hear a thing.
Then my doctor sent a prescription over and...nothing. A week later I called and sat on hold..for 15 minutes..and then hung up on me. I called back...another 15 minutes and then a message saying calls above normal and will call back....but during the message it hung up on me...again.
I finally used the Chat function and they replied that calls are busier than normal....I'm guessing because my insurance company recommended them to other people. I have never spend 45 minutes on calls trying to get to a pharmacist....
I gave up...went elsewhere....terrible service.....
Both times I've used this service my order didn't come. I called and both times they told me it was a technical error and to have TIA health re-send the script. I just booked another TIA health apt with a doctor and i'm having it sent to shoppers. Much easier.
My benefits program partnered with them and so far it's been the worst app experience I've ever had. Support never gets back to you and the app is buggy as hell. I don't feel safe trusting my prescription needs with them.
Great experience with Pillway. They are 100% legitimate & their customer service is prompt and responsive (you can actually speak to a live person!)
Bravo Pillway…the future is here
The best pharmacy I have ever delt with, been with them for around a year. Pill packs easy to open, orders come on time and filled completely. Questions and problems are handled promptly. I have never had to call asking when my meds will be shipped or there are pills missing. Best of all I am saving $50 a month on my perscriptions with them. I wish more businesses were like that. Give them a try, maby you can save money to.
