Wonderful crew and expedition team. From spotting whales and polar bears on the deck to cruising around glaciers, we really felt this was a trip of a lifetime.

Svalbard is a stunning location, but Kris and Fabricio on the kayaks, Helena the female Attenborough and Sophie's dance parties on returning to the ship really made it special. Shout out to Greg & Raymark onboard too!

A truly wonderful and unforgettable week aboard the Ocean Victory. Everything was perfect – the beautiful Scottish scenery, the excursions, the excellent food and the relaxed atmosphere on board. Most of all, the crew made this journey very special with their warmth, professionalism and genuine hospitality.

From the Highland Games on Mull to the magical early-morning sight of the Old Man of Hoy, every day brought new memories. We enjoyed every single moment.

Unpleasant experience with a senior staff at the mudroom.

One of the greatest strengths of this voyage was the expedition team. Their expertise covered a remarkable range of subjects, including Arctic wildlife, seabirds, geology, glaciology, history, and the polar environment. Whether during Zodiac cruises, shore landings, onboard presentations, or daily recap sessions, they were always approachable, patient, and generous with their time.

For many Chinese-speaking guests, the support provided by several expedition team members who spoke fluent Mandarin was invaluable. Their role extended far beyond interpretation. They helped guests communicate more easily with different onboard departments, answered questions during excursions, and made it easier for everyone to engage with every aspect of the expedition.

I would especially like to recognize Margarette and Canis for their outstanding interpretation during onboard presentations. Interpreting scientific and environmental topics in real time requires both subject knowledge and language skills, and they consistently delivered clear, accurate, and natural interpretation that allowed Chinese-speaking guests to fully appreciate every lecture.

Jeff, with his extensive experience working in Arctic expeditions, was also particularly helpful throughout the voyage. His familiarity with expedition operations and onboard procedures was evident, and whenever additional coordination or communication was needed, he was always willing to provide support. His experience and helpful attitude were greatly appreciated.

One suggestion for future charter voyages would be to consider a more flexible approach to specialist presentations. When an expedition team member who speaks fluent Mandarin is presenting a subject within his or her own area of expertise, it might be worth presenting directly in Chinese while offering English interpretation for international guests. This is not intended as criticism of the current format, which worked very well, but simply a thought that could make knowledge-sharing even more engaging for voyages where most guests are Chinese-speaking.

Beyond the expedition itself, the onboard hotel and service teams also contributed greatly to the overall experience. Throughout the voyage, I found the staff to be friendly, professional, and genuinely willing to help. Their attention to guests’ comfort was one of the details that made the journey feel more personal.

The housekeeping service was excellent. Our cabin was cleaned and maintained at least twice a day, and the service was always delivered with a warm attitude. Andy was especially memorable for his professionalism, kindness, and consistent smile. His attention to detail and positive attitude reflected the high level of care shown by the hotel department.

I would also like to mention Stephanie at the front desk. As someone who could assist guests in both Mandarin and Cantonese, she played an important role for many Chinese-speaking guests. She patiently answered a large number of questions throughout the voyage, including many repeated ones, and always maintained the same level of professionalism and kindness. Her support made communication much easier for guests who needed Chinese-language assistance.

One practical observation for future guests concerns cabins on the lower decks. During my voyage, the bathroom in my cabin occasionally experienced drainage backflow, especially during busy periods when many guests were using the facilities at the same time. This did not occur every day. After the engineering team inspected the situation, I understood that it was related to the ship’s overall plumbing system rather than an individual cabin issue. I was also aware that a small number of other cabins experienced similar situations.

The restaurant service was another positive part of the voyage. The restaurant team was approachable and open to feedback. Virgo, in particular, actively asked guests for suggestions regarding dining preferences and showed a genuine willingness to improve whenever possible.

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to Chef Li for a thoughtful gesture. One day, a guest traveling with our group became unwell due to seasickness and had almost no appetite. She only wanted something simple, such as rice porridge. Although this was not part of the regular menu, Chef Li kindly prepared a bowl of plain rice porridge especially for her. It was a small gesture, but it showed genuine care and made a lasting impression.

Regarding the dining experience itself, dinner was generally enjoyable and satisfying.

Amazing experience traveling with Polar Latitudes expeditions. The boat was beautiful, room was good and staff were so knowledgeable and helpful! Every day was unique, yet relaxing as the structure was repeated but excursions different. I can recommend traveling with them to anyone and will definitely come back!

Wonderful experience

The Expedition team, the Hotel staff and special mention to the restaurant team, really went the extra mile to make sure everything went well. The expeditions were fun, the food was excellent and the rooms were well serviced.

Had a wonderful expedition team who share with us their knowledge on Arctic wildlife and how sea ice is formed during our zodiac expeditions. Great restaurant crews named James and Virgo who will serve us with warmth smile whenever we stepped into the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not only that, they will help us to reserved the seats that we will usually be sitting by placing drinks and food on the table indicating the table is taken by someone which I find it very thoughtful of them.

It was an amazing trip from the beginning to the end.
