I purchased this after reading NY Times article regarding a sturdy that showed the PowerBreathe helped to lower blood pressure. After several months of use I was surprised to find that my breathing has changed. I never could get the "breathe from your diaphragm" I now find I am actually breathing that way!

The research you refer to used a different training protocol that resulted in lowering blood pressure, and you can find more about that on our website, here: https://www.powerbreathe.com/whos-it-for/health/blood-pressure/
The research used the electronic POWERbreathe K3 IMT device, but the lead researcher, Daniel Craighead, did explain that you can use the alternative POWERbreathe Plus device that you're using. We've included a link from the above page, that explains how to adjust your Plus device to achieve similar results.
Never received my Powerbreathe…
Never received my Powerbreathe shipment. Apparently, it was sent to some random address in another part of the country! So far, no response to my emails. No refund. Ugh.

We are very sorry to hear of your frustration, Rob. Unfortunately, it was down to human error in the shipping department at our US distributor and they have apologised profusely.
It is a very exceptional and rare occurrence and frustratingly for all involved, your emails were received over the weekend. This, and the time difference, meant that the issue couldn't be investigated until the working week had resumed.
We understand that a replacement order has now been shipped to you, and you now have the new tracking number.

Hi Sheila, I'm afraid, as with any type of training or exercise, it is quite tough. This is because it challenges your breathing muscles in a way they've not been challenged before. But that does imply that you are training correctly.
The training won't become easier I'm afraid, as you'll need to increase the breathing load when you find you can easily manage the 30 breaths. It's at this point that you'll need to increase the load to challenge your breathing muscles once again.

Delivered within 48 hours and used to prepare for lung operation. Nifty bag and nose-clip (perhaps they are all rather uncomfortable). Seems well made and detailed instructions for use. Easy to adjust resistance. Will use after the operation as well.
