They didn't change prices, but I was missing many boxes and loose items. We numbered all of our boxes and wrote an inventory of the loose items, but who knows what exactly is in your 5 boxes from the master bedroom? Their inventory page is just lots of long lines drawn down the page with minimal descriptions of items. Not worth bothering with the insurance because they pay by the pound. Does anyone actually know the weight of every item in a box or loose item? How do you prove that your $500 jacket was in the box? You'll be paid pennies on the dollar that way, which is what they count on. It sucks not even really knowing what has been taken from you. I've moved a lot, had broken items but have never had my things stolen.

These are CONVICTED FRAUDSTERS who were found, among other things, by the US GOVERNMENT, to flood the internet with positive reviews of themselves... So, assume any of those are fake.

These people will give you a price and arbitrarily raise it once they have all your stuff, lie about who they are, pose as third parties who've also been duped, all to extort as much out of you as they can.

They were found guilty of running this entire operation as a massive fraud, yet, they still exist, and still get business.

Florida-Based Moving Company Operators Indicted for Moving Fraud Scheme Worth Over $12 Million"

Or, get scammed by them, it's up to you.

Thanks to Proud American Van Lines, my moving experience was a series of disasters. I contacted them to arrange an interstate move of furniture only, from AZ to FL. My son and I packed a U-Haul and moved all of the boxes and smaller items.
Proud American Van Lines are brokers, so the first thing they require is a deposit to "secure" their cost estimate, which is a hook that leads to increased costs with the actual moving company.
I told their representative, Ross, that I needed to transfer funds and he assured me they wouldn't process my check for a few days. They ran it through immediately and threw my account into overdraft. I should have backed out then, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt, which was a huge mistake on my part.
I had sold my home and provided Ross a 4-day window (Aug 27-30) for the moving company to pick up my furniture. I made it clear that I had to be out no later than Aug 30, 2021, as the new owners were moving in on Aug 31, 2021. I knew I chose the wrong broker when I didn't hear from them by Aug 23, 2021, just four days prior to the start of my window. I called and Ross said I was scheduled for Aug 30, 2021, the last day. That day came and nobody showed up or called.
I contacted Ross in a panic and the first thing I noticed was that he was no longer the nice guy that he was before he got my deposit. In fact, he made no effort to hide his aggravation and impatiently told me he couldn't help me -- I had to call Oasis Movers, the company they arranged for my move.
I called and Oasis told me they didn't have me scheduled for Aug 30th and I needed to call Proud American to fix the problem. It quickly became a game of back and forth -- one blaming the other and neither taking responsibility. The stress was enormous.
Finally, Oasis agreed to send a moving crew the following day -- the day the new homeowners were scheduled to move in. The crew drove from Nevada to Tucson, AZ and didn't arrive until noon. By that time, the stress was off the charts. They picked up our furniture and headed back to Nevada to put it all in storage until we arrived in Florida.
Thirty days later, I received my furniture, all of which came off the truck dirty, dented, scratched and ruined by packing tape that melted to fabrics and finishes. Some items were completely destroyed. The pedestal leg and feet were completely severed from the the top of my dining room table. The shock of witnessing the horrendous abuse done to my furniture was mentally and emotionally overwhelming.
I submitted a claim to their insurance carrier and was offered a $500 settlement, which only added insult to injury. Ross repeatedly stated that he'd only had one complaint in 15 years because Proud American Van Lines was the best and only contracted the best movers in the industry. What a joke.
A lawyer told me he gets 5 calls a week from victims of brokers and movers who scam people. I've also learned that it's difficult to recover your losses. Be that as it may, what goes 'round comes 'round, so it's comforting to know there's consequences for those who harm others and perhaps, some justice for those who've been harmed at the hands of people in the moving industry.
If you need to move, don't call Proud American Van Lines or any other broker. Brokers take thousands in fees and offer nothing of any value -- nothing that you can't easily do on your own. And that includes contracting a terrible moving company. Best thing is to move yourself with U-Haul. It's safer, less stressful and way more affordable.

The person I dealt with was lovely; however, they are only brokers.

My valuable belongings were given to a horrible co, Toptenvanlines that lost and stole $ 20,000 worth of my belongings.

During the month of May 2021, we researched for a mover to take all of our home contents from California to Florida. We had sold our house and purchased another in Florida. Proud American Van lines came up as the top mover and we contacted to make our arrangements. We spoke to Katherine and she was terrific and helped through every step. We even faced time with her to be sure we have all our items documented. We signed documents and were told we would pay a considerable amount of the total agreed figures and the initial figure was the greater part of the whole fee, the balance would be paid in cash on loading day. If we changed our mines that day we would loose our deposit.
The movers arrived and reviewed our load and started loading and during that process we were told MANY of our items were not on the list and the load was larger than contracted. We called Katherine several times that morning could not reach her, and this was the lady who was so nice and called each and each and every time. Now she was missing. The head person on our site said if we continue calling Proud American they would not be able to work with us. We were in a panic, and finally got to talk with the head guy of the mover and he was nice, but needed $2,000 more to haul our goods. If we cancel the move, we loose our deposit, if we agree to the extra cash they will move us. Our house has closed escrow, we own the Florida home and have to make a decision. We paid the money, and they left.
All our items were in storage, somewhere in California, it was close to thirty day later, and may I add, we still had to leave some items in our garage.
Later, we found the email that recorded our load, and this was the one that the movers said was not what they received. If there was ever a scam this was the classic . Unbelievable.
We followed up, with difficulty reaching anyone, finally we were told nothing could be done because we signed everything. Yes, that is true, but we had no choice. Loose money, leave our home goods, or pay and go.
Stay far and away from these so called movers, or I should say brokers. I now know to use the major movers, they come with their truck and it goes straight to the destination. No held in a building for weeks. Stay away from these movers.

My friend suggested me to call Proud american van lines in order to move things to my new house. Calling them was the best decision I've made. They were so cooperative with me and understood my situation. Previously I have hired other moving companies, but they aren't great as these guys in service. It was a hassle free experience and there were no damages to my things. Unlike other companies were you have to work with their schedule, this company instead worked with my schedule. Best of all, the rates were very affordable comparing to other companies. If you are looking for the best moving service then just hire these guys

STAY AWAY from Proud American Vanlines at all costs! They’re brokers here to scam you, will rip you off, outsource your move to terrible carriers, be unresponsive, and damage your goods. They do not care about your stuff or you. It’s the worst customer experience I’ve ever had.

Btw, they are the same people behind Safeway. The company is owned by one dude who has several LLCs at a PO Box in Florida. Their positive reviews are fake. Check out who gave positive reviews like Jack and you’ll see that there are a series of reviews all given at the same time for multiple brokers. They’re all the same terrible people scamming you.

I would rate this company a negative star if possible.
We selected this company for our move from California to Texas because we saw that it had received good ratings. But it turned out to be a huge nightmare. Our stuff were picked up in California on July 21, and they stayed in some warehouse in California until August 17, and we were only told recently that the stuff will be coming our way in Texas. But the stories kept changing. Now it is August 25, and we were told that our stuff is going to be loaded from their carrier's California warehouse tomorrow. So for more than a month, our stuff stayed in California! Our friends who used another long distance moving company from California to Texas only took 5 days. For over a month now, we had to live with uncertainties and inconvenience as most of our stuff were packed in the moving truck and we had no idea about the status of the move. We were told to call dispatch to get status update, but no one ever answered. When we called customer service, we were repeatedly told that there was no status update. When asked to speak with a supervisor, she was indifferent and saying that it would take 10-21 days to deliver and that they were still within that time window. Well this is taking more than a month and we still don't even know when our stuff will depart from California! Terrible company, lying customer service. DON'T TRUST PROUD AMERICAN and DON'T USE THEM! We also found out that they contracted the actual moving and transporting to other carriers, so they relied on local carriers to perform. That might explain why they had no control of the moving schedule. But they charged us close to $8000 including some $2400 for their own compensation for coordinating with the carriers. Totally unacceptable and super expensive given that they did not do much other than making some phone calls for coordination. Horrible experience!

Terrible experience. They lowballed an estimate and then passed it on to Febex moving, which nearly doubled the estimate and arrived at the extreme end of the window after business hours to pressure us into accepting the "adjusted estimate". Then Proud American doesn't respond, help, or anything. Yeah, they're just brokers. But they pass on your work to borderline criminals.

Best in the city. Would hire them again in future.
