As per other 'customers' if zero stars were an option I would choose that. Prudential insisted that a payment to beneficiaries of a whole life policy needed probate. I took advice from my Solicitor and called the company. Answered by a totally incompetent member of staff who repeatedly said " I get it"! When clearly they didn't get it! I wrote a letter of complaint merely to receive exactly the same paperwork that I'd been sent when I informed the company of my Mother's death! Quite happy to take people's money but not so keen to give it back! Now in the hands of my Solicitor!

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience dealing with Prudential. I was originally advised that my bereavement claim would take around 4–6 weeks to process, however I am now well beyond that timeframe with no resolution in sight.

Throughout this process I have repeatedly been told there are “issues on their end” causing delays, yet I am given no meaningful updates or clear explanation of what those issues actually are. Communication has been poor and inconsistent, and I often feel as though I am being passed from one vague answer to another with no real progress being made.

The level of service has been shockingly poor. The agents I have spoken to seem disorganised and ill-informed, at times not even understanding basic details of the claim. On one occasion during a live chat regarding a bereavement claim, I was even asked if the deceased policy holder was “speaking” to them, which was deeply upsetting and completely inappropriate given the nature of the situation.

Overall, the handling of my claim has been incompetent and distressing. I have had to raise three separate complaints due to the ongoing issues and lack of proper service. At a time when sensitivity and efficiency should be expected, Prudential has fallen far short on both.

I would strongly advise others to consider this level of service before choosing to deal with them.

Never dealt with before

Never dealt with before, but have recently. Can only say what a shambolic company. Calling them is long job. Did policy name change from 1994, sent all docs inc depol solicitor letter. Now 3 weeks later still not changed name. Was going to do the tax free 25% from balance. Now I’m going to withdraw all of it! They are a joke..

Zero Stars for an utterly useless & failing company.

If zero stars were an option I would choose that. Prudential wrongly insisted that a payment to beneficiaries of a whole life policy written in trust needed probate. I complained and their Complaints Manager upheld my complaint, agreeing that probate was not needed. They sent us a payment mandate form which we returned. When I rang for a progress report I was once again told probate was required. I complained again over a week ago and still no response. This firm is utterly useless and potentially failing. Why else are they so bad at paying their commitments to so many people. I will be referring to the Ombudsman and have now also referred their wider failures to the FCA.

Absolutely terrible company.

Absolutely terrible company. So far, I’ve been waiting 20 days to receive a pension pack. I’ve been given incorrect information by one of their financial advisers. It’s as though they just don’t want to give me MY MONEY. I wish I could’ve read all their poor reviews when I started the pension all those years ago

Terrible company

What a terrible company asked me if I was divorced on more then one occasion because of the pension sharing i told them yes 11 years ago now after 5 weeks they want proof. Looks like they dont want to give me MY money. There making it very hard work. Plus they never get back to you on there message service. Just been told it will take 11 working days for them to make a decision on whether I can have my money. What a joke of a company.

If you can avoid any relationship with Prudential then do!

So much has been wrong I have submitted a 7 page document of complaint to Prudential - to which I have yet to receive a response one month after submission. Seeing on Trustpilot that so many other customers have experienced exactly the same issues, makes me concerned that Prudential could end up going out of business if they don't do something to change what appears to be a norm of appallingly bad service.

Highlights of the issues I have experienced include:

- Misalignment and confusing information received from Prudential – particularly relating to an apparent lack of understanding in relation to the Shared AVC Plan processes.
- Gaps in communication from Prudential and examples of misinformation.
- Prudential failure in proactively providing me with account details.
- Prudential failure with GDPR compliance.

If anyone from Prudential wants to contact me to validate the truth of what I am saying, then please feel free - I have accurately documented the whole painful experience.

Exasperated

I Originally sent a request to you after seeing a blog from Martin Lewis in regards to people that may have policies they have forgotten about and just send through a request which i duly did and then i heard nothing so i then contacted Financial Ombudsman Service who took all my details and said he was now my contact but since then no contact from him either so i had a chat with our legal dept at the University i work at and they suggested i try and make contact this way because as far as they can see this should have been a very straight forward request which seems to have become a nightmare

Disgraceful

Dealing with a number of pensions/lifa assurance policies for my brother in law who passed away last October. Pru are by far the worst to deal with, despite them having the paperwork completed and returned first, all others have been settled 6 weeks ago while we are no further with the pru. We’ve had a letter asking us to confirm in writing that my wife was not financially dependent on her brother, a letter saying they can’t find any record of the policy, and then another one saying ‘thanks for submitting all the information required, we are just gathering the information we require’. Everyone of the letters have been contradicted multiple times by someone on the phone, and after being ‘escalated’ they now won’t tell us what they are waiting for. The nature of their business means they are dealing with people who have a lot going on, and they should be ashamed at how they treat them.

Very slow...

I have a local authority pension related AVC with them. Takes 6-8 weeks for salary deductions to show on account and have had what they call repeated "admin" errors (on their side) in valuation of funds. Compared to other related companies, very slow to process anything.

Shocking!

Shocking!! Can't log in even though all details are verified correct. Live chat can't find me in their records - even though they've just sent me an email!! My annuity was sold on to them from Scottish Amicable without my consent years ago. The original annuity was with bonuses, the Prudential one is £300 a year - just not worth all this hassle.

I wish I had read the review before got involve with Pru, Just had the most terrible meeting with their financial advisor. He just wanted me to put all my cash into stock and shares, showing me the graph of 7.6% return rather than warning me the capital is at risk, even though repeatedly told Matthew Evans I want low risk fund. By the time he realised I have low risk approach towards to the investment and my pension funds, he basically just told me to go back to Aviva and not to waste his time, terminated the call abruptly. It’s arrogant and insulting, don’t bother putting your hard earned money with Prudential, they are not interested unless you take high risk funds and charges a fortune for the commission. I found the whole meeting distasteful and disrespectful. Financial advisor is supposed to build long-term, trusting relationship with their clients so we can have confidence in them, yet, they look down on you!

deliberate delays?

My husband has been trying to access his pension pot for many months with one issue after another including A4 letters being placed in envelopes when the address is not visible. We are just about to take legal advice now. Suggest you look elsewhere as we keep being told "It's because its so old" ...yes that'll be because its a pension.

By a long shot the worst company I have…

By a long shot the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to have any dealings with. Backward doesn't begin to describe them. I've been trying for weeks to get a small pension fund withdrawn and I'm going around in circles. Inept communication and that's when they answer the phone or emails which for emails takes about 1 week if your lucky, phone communication means at least a 45 minutes wait at best.
In terms of investment they're useless, better off just having the funds under your bed mattress.

Why the FCA hasn't closed them down beggars belief.

Starting to think they're just a huge criminal scam and I will never get my funds.

I wouldn’t give them 1 star! My husband is terminally ill and we have been trying to get them to pay his pension to his ex wife as part of an ear marking order. Promised call backs never received. They have every piece of paperwork requested and money transferred into a holding account but nothing. They do not care that he is terminally ill …. At my wits end caring for my husband and trying to deal with this. So many excuses - apparently it’s admin/technical team holding everything up. But unable to speak to technical team ….. heartless company !

Why can't I give this shower of **** company no stars

Trying to access my pension . Can't register online as these Morons have changed the criteria . Now when I get to speak town advisor I'm interrogated about what I'm doing with MY MONEY and do I know what I'm doing ? Writing a letter of complaint as I can't find an email address . Not that it'll get me anywhere. AVOID THIS COMPANY worst I've ever dealt with . Put your pension money with someone else . They want your money but when you need it they'll put up obstacles and interrogate you about what for ?
