With the Railboard iPhone or iPad app, you can save lots of money by finding super-cheap split train tickets. Plus, you have easy access to live train times powered by National Rail Enquiries.
With Split Tickets, our clever algorithms find combinations of tickets that together offer the same journey but at a lower price than a regular ticket.
This is done by splitting regular train tickets at calling points along the journey. So instead of one ticket from A to C, you have two tickets from A to B and B to C. Hi Stuart,
Sorry to hear your paper tickets weren’t working correctly!
If Transport for London’s tube barriers weren’t accepting the paper tickets, the station staff should have let you through after visually checking your ticket.
So I’d recommend getting in touch with our Customer Support team. I can’t guarantee anything, but if you have a record of how you paid for the tube, it may be possible to get a refund from TfL (given that you already paid for tube travel with your train tickets).
But again, sorry for the inconvenience from the tube travel not working seamlessly, and having to get staff to let you through the train barriers. I don’t know exactly what went wrong, whether it was with the paper tickets themselves or the barriers. Either way, very sorry for the extra hassle.

A User Friendly App
I like Railboard as I can save favourite destinations and routes and can easily buy tickets which load into my Apple Wallet including split tickets. The app is very user friendly and navigable.

Tickets too!
It came as a surprise to me that I could buy tickets using Railboard, I had previously only used it for planning journeys which it is exceptionally good for. As it happens the train I booked for had a mechanical issue and never showed up. The next train did make it though.
