I used removals 24 to move from Lisbon to London this month with a direct van service and it was a great experience! I only had a few bags with fragile items and sentimental pieces I was nervous to ship. All my items arrived straight to my new flat in great condition and very timely.

Alex was very easy to communicate with and was very accommodating to my schedule. As well as a great price. Would definitely recommend to anyone moving within Europe!

We hired a van for a move from a 2-bedroom home, including the living room and a storage room. The van was supposed to arrive on Friday, when my young daughters were at school. I had specifically asked for a trolley to make it easier to transport the furniture and boxes.

The van broke down and they had to send another one the following day. This caused us a lot of inconvenience: our daughters had no school on Saturday and had to stay with us throughout the move, meaning I could barely help because I had to look after them. We also had to pay for an additional day of rental and an extra fee so that the estate agents could inspect the apartment on a Saturday.

To make matters worse, the replacement van did not have a trolley either, despite the fact that I had specifically requested one. As a result, my husband and the driver had to carry everything down by hand, including all the furniture and boxes. This made the whole process much harder and more time-consuming than it should have been.

The move also arrived in Barcelona on Monday instead of Sunday as originally planned, meaning that our family members, who had arranged to help us, were no longer able to do so.

And the problems did not stop there. The inside of the van was covered in grease and dirt. The driver himself was a nice guy, but his hands were completely black from the poor condition of the van, and he ended up getting grease all over the furniture and boxes while handling them.

There was also absolutely no equipment inside the van to secure the load: no straps, bars, ropes or anything else to prevent the furniture and boxes from moving during the journey. Unsurprisingly, plates and very expensive vases were broken, and several pieces of furniture arrived scratched.

As if all this wasn't enough, when the van arrived in Barcelona, I was told that they would not unload anything until they received the international bank transfer. I immediately made the transfer and sent the payment confirmation. I was then told that the confirmation was not valid because they normally received payments from that bank instantly, whereas mine had not arrived yet.

They asked me to obtain another confirmation from my bank, which I did and sent to them. They still said it was not sufficient. Eventually, after calling me repeatedly, they asked me to log into my bank account on my phone and show the driver my account so that he could personally see that the money had been deducted.

I honestly couldn't believe it. I found this completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional.

What is perhaps most disappointing is that, after all the additional expenses and inconvenience caused by these problems, they did not offer even the smallest gesture of compensation or goodwill.

In summary: delays, additional costs, a van in an unacceptable condition, a replacement van without the trolley I had specifically requested, no equipment whatsoever to secure the load, damaged belongings and, finally, an absolutely surreal situation regarding payment.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. There are many other removal companies that can provide a much more professional and reliable service.

It was the worst experience of our lives. The driver was rude and kept complaining. He kept saying that it was too much. They couldn't dismount the wardrobes and beds. The contract said they would help with packing, but he kept asking me to do it. When we arrived at my new place, they said that I had to pay or they would not unload the truck. They shouted at me, my sister, and my friends. I felt abused! I have been in the UK for 20 years and have never been insulted like that before. It was so embarrassing in front of the new neighbourhood.

It's a pleasure to work with professionals. I called the company at 7 a.m., and at 9 a.m. the guys started packing boxes in my flat. Moving the apartment took 6 hours, taking into account traffic jams. I will recommend Removals 24 to my friends!
