Excellent customer service from Sam who helped me pick my new MG. I ended up getting exactly what I wanted in the spec and colour I wanted with Sam's help. He kept me updated the whole way along and even took the time to show me how to use everything before I left. I did discover a slow puncture and needed a new tyre after purchase but Sam and his team sorted it out for me so that I wasn't out of pocket. Amazing experience and would definitely go back for another car in the future 🙂 Thank you so much

1-Star Review – MG Richmond Botley

I purchased my car from MG Richmond Botley in July and, unfortunately, the level of aftersales service and communication since then has been extremely disappointing.

Since the purchase, I've experienced several issues that have required follow-up. Despite the vehicle being serviced in July, I continued to receive service reminder notifications, suggesting that the records had not been updated correctly. While this was eventually reset when I returned to the garage, it should not have happened in the first place.

A more frustrating issue is that the word "touch" is visibly marked on the front bumper and cannot be removed. When I brought the vehicle back for inspection, I was told that some of the concerns I had raised were apparently "standard" for the vehicle. Regarding the bumper issue, I was informed that it was the responsibility of the sales team to resolve.

However, despite being directed back to sales, I have yet to receive any communication, update, or resolution from them. I have effectively been left chasing a response with no proactive follow-up whatsoever.

My overall impression is that the dealership was very attentive when it came to securing the sale, but once the transaction was completed, the customer service and aftersales care fell well below expectations. Good customer experience doesn't end when the keys are handed over, and unfortunately that appears to be where the support stopped.

I would not recommend MG Richmond Botley based on my experience and would encourage them to focus far more on customer care, communication, and ownership of issues after a vehicle has been sold.

I've been a Richmond MG Southampton customer for the last 6 years and service has always been brilliant. Following in the footsteps of Himat and Andreea is Elise who looked after me this time round and was just as helpful and efficient in dealing my enquiry through to picking up the car as her predecessors. Generally all the staff are professional and helpful and if you are looking at purchasing an MG then you won't go wrong visting here.

Great services. Elise was very helpful and assisted the sales process beautifully.

Only little hiccup was that the car we were meant to test drive wasn’t fully charged, so we had to wait 30mins.

But there is a great range of second hand EVs on sale.

Alfie was a great salesman, not pushy and a delight to deal with.

We were guided by a lovely but new member of staff who clearly needed guidance himself. Collection took over an hour and a half and was chaotic and disorganised from start to finish. Richmond needs to do better in supporting new staff so every customer gets the best experience. We’d recommend MG - we’re steer family and friends away from Richmond.

I received excellent service from everyone I had dealings with, especially Hamit. Nothing was too much trouble. Buying my new car was an absolute pleasure.
