RaH delivers in providing safe and consitent care over time!
I engaged RaH to take care of an elderly friend in her home for the last 4 years of her life from 2021 to 2025. Over that time RaH’s service went from a couple hours a day for light housekeeping and meals to complete care 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Two of those years were during COVID confinement and Tracey was able to consistently cover shifts even at that precarious time.
Throughout the time with RaH Tracey was extremely cooperative in letting us interview caregivers and engage them on a trial basis to see if they were a good fit. Given the specificities of the situation it took about 6 months to a year to establish a solid team of caregivers and throughout that time Tracey consistently presented different options and was open to removing caregivers that did not work out. One of the aspects of RaH I most appreciated was that during the 4 years RaH was engaged I was regularly at the house a few days every month and Tracey was extremely flexible with adapting the schedule so I could provide care myself to my friend during that time, and with adjusting the staff schedule to accommodate my own schedule when needed. That was the flexibility I was looking for when seeking a private care agency and RaH really delivered on that aspect.
The last two years of RaH service a consistent team was in place and that created a sense of ease and predictability for my friend. Frequently these women went above and beyond to bring little treats to my friend, decorate her room on special occasions, tempt her with beautifully presented food, chat away with her for hours, let her dictate her schedule for that day, include her in daily decisions, provide care with extreme kindness and dignity, and do their best to make her life varied and fun. They also extended that kindness to myself when I was staying at the house and I had the utmost trust in them and their ability to provide safe and loving care to my friend.
Based on my experience I would definitely recommend RaH as a home care service. I found having a welcome guide to orient caregivers was critical for consistently of care, as well having a say in selecting caregivers. Consistent communication with both Tracey and the staff was very helpful in quickly identifying changes needed as my friend’s condition evolved over the four years.
What I want people to know:
RaH was reliable and consistent in ensuring that there was a worker to cover the shift, even at the last moment. Several times Tracey herself even stepped in to ensure a smooth service.
RaH was very flexible with last minute requests and unanticipated changes to the schedule.
RaH was responsive to emails and Tracey quickly got back to my emails or requests for a call regarding issues that came up and that needed resolution.
RaH was efficient in sending out the caregiver schedule enabling me to know who was on what shift when which was very helpful.
RaH was open to my wanting to interview potential caregivers myself to see if they would be a good fit.
