NEGATIVE 5 STARS. These guys are a joke and have literally lied and was crewed up at every single turn during this entire process the only rt by Ii ng going for this company is the independent installers that are local and are amazing. But Roadgaurd and SmartStart are absolutely the worst company ive ever dealt with. They make the slimiest salesmen and attorneys and even politicians look like saints. They owe me a small refund even and absolutely refuse to send it even after they acknowledged I'm owed it so now I get to take all my records to the Attorney generals office and spend every available moment I have in life to report and review this sperm dumpster of a company.

Everything was fine except the money…

Everything was fine except the money every month I think I paid around $125 a month. I paid my debt to the Commweath of Pennsylvania. I have my unrestricted license. Now road is telling me I have to wait 7 days before they will release me from their system before I can get the device removed. I sent them a picture of my new license. They still say 7 days.

Fella-tio bootcamp ! B sides still getting arrested for following the law & judges orders
I’ve had Intoxalock and road Gaurd. I think this interlock company is by far much more honest and fair then the other two fraudulent life taking companies. Still frauds like them all! It’s all a ‘ fella-tio bootcamp’ besides there selling your sucking humming and blowing they coach you on…,they are selling everyone’s recordings on the black web. It’s pretty obvious in my opinion along with recordings audio & video I have for as my own evidence as well experience. These devices have absolutely nothing to do with road safety but the exact opposite. . I got a 4 th dui and arrested twice with road Gaurd besides having to pay them over $8 k in just over a year. Yep I followed the judges orders and still jailed twice , tons of $ as well character Defromation, sexual harassment as well assault ! Besides humiliation. Yeah I’m now looking at prison and away from my beloved service dog , the only living family I got.
I don’t think I will be going on that route. Time to meet God before my time. It is what it is.., unconstitutional unfair and heartless bullian. All I can do is fight for my right but not a fair fight. Unfortunately I need to hurry up with my plans before they grab me and innocently arrest me. Crazy I got pulled over cause the cord kept popping out!?! I had to hold it with both hands . I was only trying to get a prenuptial agreement printed since I just learned I would be married within 24 hours! I suffer a tramatic brain injury so I needed to protect my parents assets! Lincoln police didn’t agree. Not with my not living in sin and settling down with my dream boat. Soo thank you and *uck you!

They are quick to answer a phone lie to you before you set up first month is not free . Customer support is no help . They send you to the wrong phones its all recordings press buttons . Violate you for their broken newest devices .. so far 3 malfunctions when getting data done at the shop ..

This will be the 4th time this month…

This will be the 4th time this month I'll have to take my vehicle to the shop. I drive one day then the next day the device say lockout in 4 days. They won't let the shop swich the device. Every option but that. Every time I take it to the shop it works for about 1 day then lockout in 4 days. Stay away from this company at all costs.

Customer Service is garbage

Customer Service is garbage. It's a money grab to be sure. I've had a situation that involved me missing a retest. Boom. Violation - reset needed. When trying to reach someone to find out why I get dinged like this when several times before and after I successfully took the retest. Which means I have NO ALCOHOL in my system! The only way to dispute is to fill out an online form which they say may take 5 DAYS for a response. To which you will get an AI generated email saying they do not issue credit for this type of violation. We aren't their 'customers' we are a bank they withdraw dollars from. Don't fall for their website hype. There's no way they get 4.8 stars on Google. Not sure any of these companies are good - their equipment and testing are secret and there's zero regulation.

This system is straight trash,it's unreliable,destroys your vehicles electrical system,customer service is terrible,any problem u have to file an email and wait a week or 2 for a response,Youll get violation letters from the MVA even if you've done nothing wrong to violate,it's a greedy money pit,stay away at all cost

Customer Disservice

I do not recommend them at all. I began getting violation errors due to a faulty device after having it only 2 months. From early July until mid-August I got a “Violation Reset” error at least once a week and had to return to the shop in 3 days to avoid lockout. Each time I was charged almost $60, plus $70 for a lockout code. Despite multiple requests to Roadguard to correctly credit my account for the errors resulting from the faulty device, they couldn’t calculate the refund correctly and still owe me $130. You can only handle the credits by their online portal and each response takes up to one week. They finally replaced my device control module after about 8 times of returning to the shop every week, and I’ve had no issues since besides still being owed $130. I got the order from the judge to remove my interlock last week, but it can’t be removed until Roadguard authorizes the shop for removal and that also takes 5-7 business days. This was hugely disruptive, expensive and added extreme distress to an already stressful ordeal.

It's a trap!!! They are setting you up!

DO NOT put ANY of these devices on your vehicle!! There is so much you are not being told about the long dark road you're about to go down. This entire experience is set up for failure and will drain you of money and produce nothing of use for you. Regardless of whether you drink or not the hurdles put in place by the state of Michigan will ensure that you are far more than likely to fail and spend possibly TENS OF THOUSANDS getting there. DO NOT DO IT!!!

I would strongly advise against using this…

I would advise against using this company if you have to get an interlock device. Very unwilling to help when I needed to replace my battery and starter after having problems with my vehicle. Asked my service provider how to go about working on my vehicle if I need to disconnect the battery to safely replace electrical components. He said call them and document it and it shouldn't be a problem. They said well you can take it to a shop and they will have to get a 3rd party bypass code. I said I ordered the part and need to change it but don't want a violation. Was told I would have to pay the violation fee and there was no way around it and that the violation fee would still be cheaper than shop labor to fix it. I've had no violations, no missed or late payments. I was just trying to stay in compliance and there's no way around it so had to play a game of operation and change my starter with the hot wire still having power to it. They increase the prices every couple of months. They have been rude and patronizing every time I've spoken with them. It was a little cheaper when I was quoting different companies. I definitely picked wrong.

Please stay away from this company and…

Please stay away from this company and do your research if you are made to install an interlock. This company has been nothing but a headache from the start. They installed a faulty interlock, then they double charged my account two different prices. When I called about it, they make you submit an incident report and get back within 5-7 business days. They take the money straight out of your account but make you file an incident report. They also do not honor the contract that you sign, if you don't enroll in autopay then they charge you more and that's not even in the contract. I would not suggest them at all and do not sign up for autopay, they will take out whatever they want and will not put it right back which can affect your livelihood. Remember it matters where you get the interlock because once you get it in your car, it costs to remove or change and they charge outrageous prices.

Cancelled appointment, horrible service

Offered next day install, took two weeks. When I got closer, they canceled the appointment four times. The last time it was the night before. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I called customer service, Sierra hung up on me.

This company is trash got my device installed May the 11th 2023 first month got locked out of my vehicle because they never sent me a schedule after me calling numerous times to get the schedule so come May the 11th 2024 got extended till June the 26th 2024 no fault of mine was because of them so I accepted it cuz I said what is one more month come June go do my final download send it in took it 3 months to get back to me that oh I have to renew my license because they expired weren't revoked suspended just expired and after I did that got extended 120 more days so the 120 what's up January 19th of 2025 go in to do the final download and everything get a response in 3 days stating that I was being extended till September of 2025 because my license was out of date from January the 6th till September the 11th so yeah please don't use this company they are trash just no good go with the different company or you will be paying for 2 years and a half whenever the court ordered you for one year

Whatever you do….do not go with this…

Whatever you do….do not go with this company. Every 30 days they want you to recalibrate your machine. It’s not once a month like other companies. So this starts moving up your dates to recalibrate. And if you are proactive and go before your date like me. It starts the clock from that date. So moves it up the recalibrate date even more. Essentially this company will get an extra 2 payments out of you. Plus you wonder why the better business bureau doesn’t want anything to do with this company. It’s one of the worse managed and they basically rip you off. Go with anyone else other than this company
