Het vinden van een woning is nooit gemakkelijk, je krijgt helaas vaak te maken met fraude en oplichting. Het feit dat Rooming dit tegengaat door middel van verificaties, trok mij aan tot het platform. Ik heb uiteindelijk een passende woning gevonden met leuke huisgenoten.

Ik was al een tijdje op zoek naar een leuk appartement in Amsterdam, helaas vaak zonder resultaat. Ik had, naar mijn idee, het hele internet al afgestruind voordat ik bij Rooming uitkwam. Een super nette, overzichtelijke website met een gevarieerd aanbod. Ik snapte in het begin niet helemaal hoe het werkte met de verificaties, maar gelukkig heeft het supportteam mij super fijn geholpen. Ik heb helaas nog geen geschikt appartement gevonden, maar ik blijf zeker op Rooming rondneuzen.

Ik zag reviews van een half jaar geleden over veel fraude. Ik weet niet wat er is veranderd maar het platform heeft mij geen problemen opgeleverd, ik heb meerdere bezichtigen kunnen inplannen via Rooming! Ook heeft de klantenservice mij binnen 24uur te woord gestaan.

rooming,nl geeft veel ruimte voor oplichters. profielen worden niet gecontroleerd en aangeboden kamers worden op geen enkele manier gecheckt. Bovendien staan veel kamers er meerdere malen op waardoor het aanbod veel groter lijkt.
In mijn eigen stad heb ik enkele betaalbare apartementen bekeken en in 7 van de 8 gevallen bleken de foto's fake. Meestal was dat te zien aan het uitzicht, zoals een grasveld of een hoge flat waar die niet hoort.
Especially for international students: too many frauds on this website. 7 of the 8 apartments I checked in my own hometown were posted with fake photo's by totally unreliable Facebook profiles. This website is a sure way to get scammed.

The worst site, do not sign up for this site. They use this ideal house as a way of luring customers in. After you pay, you'll notice the room isn't what it is. They want to use Airbnb for a showing because they are supposedly not in the country. When you reverse search the images on Google you will find that these pictures come from a similar site as Airbnb but in Hungary. I would like to have my money back because I do not feel as if the website is even trying to filter out these scams. Instead, they use them as advertising.

We registered with the website and paid the fee. Afterwards, we started contacting the owners for the apartments which we were interested in. So far all was good. The next morning we were happy to see that 4 people had replied and we communicated with them regarding viewing etc. After a back and forth of messages, we found out that the owners (all of them) were not in Holland and it would be handled by Airbnb Agents. They provided us with a link for the booking. Thats when we got suspicious as we have never heard about Airbnb Agents and could not find anything about it online. The link did looked real but we where not able to log into our Airbnb account as well as not able to click on the homepage, help etc button on the page. We have contacted Airbnb to check the properties and they confirmed our suspicion that it is a SCAM. Please be aware of the website as most of them seems to be fake.
