Subject: Response to Customer Feedback – Scott Maloney, 19 September 2026
Hi Good morning,
Thank you for forwarding the customer’s feedback. I am disappointed to read the review, as some of the comments do not reflect my recollection of the journey or the contemporaneous messages exchanged with the passenger.
The original pickup time was 3:00 PM. As I was going to arrive in Dover at approximately 2:00 PM, I contacted the passenger simply to advise that I would be available earlier if this was convenient. Importantly, my message expressly stated:
“If you need to keep the original 3:00 PM pickup time, that is absolutely fine.”
The passenger replied that they were at Dover Castle, would return to eat, and could leave close to 2:30 PM after having a quick bite. At 2:18 PM, the passenger then contacted me again and specifically said:
“Please be ready at 230. We are about done.”
I therefore understood the revised 2:30 PM departure to have been mutually agreed and at the passenger’s convenience. There was never any intention to pressure them into shortening their day.
I was waiting at the front of the hotel, went to meet the passengers at the hotel entrance and assisted them with their luggage. The vehicle supplied was my black Toyota Corolla Estate, registration FY22 PGU, which was the vehicle being used for the booking. The vehicle had been cleaned and was presented to the standard I normally maintain for passenger work.
During the journey no concern was raised with me regarding either the cleanliness of the vehicle or the service. The passengers appeared comfortable during the journey and were able to rest/sleep for a significant part of the transfer.
I would also like to clarify that I did not ask the passengers for a tip or request any additional payment from them. This is therefore particularly surprising to see mentioned in the review.
I nevertheless appreciate that customers can have different perceptions of their experience, and I am sorry that on this occasion they ultimately felt dissatisfied.
If the customer is seeking a small goodwill gesture, I would be prepared, without accepting the allegations made in the review, to refund £15, which is approximately equivalent to the US$20 amount mentioned. I hope this demonstrates that I take customer feedback seriously and want passengers to leave satisfied with the service provided.
I can also provide screenshots of the WhatsApp conversation confirming the agreed change from the original 3:00 PM pickup to approximately 2:30 PM if required.
Kind regards,
Mir Rafath Ali
