Wow! Worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Wow! Where do I start? Horrible, awful, terrible, the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've been in the service industry for over 50 years. The experience I'm currently going through with RUMPKE is almost torture. They skipped my trash for two weeks, we called 4 times within that period, they PROMISED pick up. NEVER came. Even when we cancelled service, they continue to waste time to gathered their can. I could go further with this story. Too angry to type out more. Bottom line.DO NOT BE SCAMMED BY RUMPKE!!! Sorry to have ever hired them, Lawrence C. Mount Vernon Ohio.

Worst. Contract. Ever.

My experience is with Rumpke for my business trash, and at every step they have been an absolutely horrific company to deal with. Customer service is awful and will be rude or dismissive, the latest call included her constantly talking over me and cutting me off and even flat out trying to argue with me about things. Their pickup is spotty at best, the prices are significantly higher than republic or WM, and their contracts, good lord their contracts!

So, the contract can only be canceled by certified letter, and the letter has to be received not less than 60 days nor more than 120 days prior to the expiration of the date of it. So you have a 60 day window where you can send in this letter to Rumpke in order to cancel your agreement, otherwise you're locked into another three years. Better hope you can find the address they need it sent to (they don't make it easy) and better hope you keep your tracking because they are absolutely going to try and lie and say they never received notice. Do they have to honor their original pricing on the contract though? Of course not! Your pricing goes up and up and up with no communication and nothing you can do. Contract says it's $60 plus all fuel and fees, and we've raised up past $75 now and was told that price is cheaper than what they offer new customers in fact and to be grateful it isn't more.

That bit in the contract that says they will compete with any offer from other companies? Well they only honor that if you sign a new contract, extending you by a further three years. Excellent, so there's multiple hoops for the customer to jump through to cancel a contract whose pricing Rumpke will ignore, and where part of the contract they will ignore unless you sign a new contract to honor the original one. At this point it's laughable how much of a one way deal it seems to be, and I can only hope my negative review can be added to the ever growing pile of them full of those that had the misfortune of dealing with Rumpke.

Don't sign the contract.

I'll start off by saying that the people who drive the trucks for Rumpke do a proficient job and I have no complaints in that regard. Other than that, I can't recommend doing business with Rumpke. The billing department is prone to make mistakes, so I don't use Rumpke when I need a temporary dumpster because I know there will be issues. My service representative is almost impossible to get a return call from and will only do so after I have contacted someone higher up in the chain of command. I have commercial accounts so be aware if you sign a similar contract as to the one I am in of the stipulations. The contract will automatically renew after the three year anniversary or whatever time frame it is set up for. The contract can only be canceled by certified letter and not online nor through email nor phone call. The letter has to be received not less than 60 days nor more than 120 days prior to the expiration of the initial term or renewal term. So basically, you have a 60 day window in which to send your cancellation letter to Rumpke in order to cancel your agreement. Moral of the story, I will be canceling my Rumpke agreement when the time arrives and be careful what you sign.

lock you into contract and not willing…

lock you into contract and not willing to work with the customer. After 15 years we are moving and going to a location that has trash services provided. They want to charge 6 months of fees to terminate the contract. They also raised the prices at whim and since there is a contract nothing you can do. We called and left a msg two weeks ago with nobody getting back to us. Then the service reps (and potentially the manager included in the email) were very unfriendly. They were not rude, but whole idea of being a decent human being was completely lost on them.

Predictably misses the recycling bins

Predictably misses the recycling bins, once 2-3 months. Then I have to keep it on the curbside another day or two until it is picked up. Last time it was not picked for the whole week despite a call to customer service.
The customer service apologizes, then they do it again. All I need is to receive the service we are paying them for.
