How do I get a refund send back my safer pet tracker that I've just bought online and when I've tried to set it up discovered that the app website is closed???
Good until this week.
Had the same email as Mike saying they are closing in a week (30/09/2024). Their website is still offering sales as are various 3rd party websites though so if you are looking to buy a tracker don’t buy a safer pets one, it would just be a waste of your time.
I would expect a company closing within a week to update its own site with news and ensure their product is no longer purchased, but that doesn’t seem to have happened here. You are left wondering whether they don’t care about new people wasting money or if the email is fake and due to them losing your personal data.
Either way for any new customer considering the safer pets tracker, stay clear.

Dear Customer,
TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN CUSTOMER AND SAFER PET LIMITED
We are writing to inform you that Safer Pet Limited (the “Company”) is due to cease trading on 30th September 2024 and as such this letter is to provide you with the requisite notice pursuant to our terms and conditions that your agreement with the Company will be terminated with effect from 11.59pm 30th September 2024 the “Effective Date”].
It is our understanding that you have purchased both a product and service from the Company in the form of a GPS Pet Tracker and a Subscription Plan. As of the Effective Date, both the GPS Tracker and the Subscription Plan will no longer be available for use. We will therefore be refunding to you the remaining term of your subscription after 30th September 2024, which will be processed within 7-10 business days. This will be to the card number associated with your subscription.
After the Effective Date, the Company does not accept any liability as a result of the cancellation of the Subscription Plan or discontinuation of the GPS Pet Tracker. Up and until the Effective Date, the Company’s liability is limited as described in clause 12.2 of the Terms of Service as found on the Company’s website (removed as links not allowed in TP reviews).
This letter and its subject matter shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with this letter, its substance or formation.

Buy with confidence of an excellent service
Have had saferpet trackers three years for our two 'hooligan' cocker spaniels. Which has given us huge peace of mind when taking them for walks. Any queries or problems there customer service has been excellent and quick, I highly recommend them

I recently bought a second tracker device for our second dog. I had difficulty getting it connected to the internet. We live in the country where mobile phone reception and internet are not a good as they could be
The advice I received from SaferPet was provided very prompt and clear. More to the point, it worked

This company needs to start doing the right thing.
I have read many reviews on trust pilot of many people in the same situation as me and have even seen one poor customer even having to resort to legal action.
You even used threats!
Are you proud of that?
I have also seen you were able to cancel their subscriptions and refunds were offered within 7-10 working days.
Exploiting hard working people who are seeking reassurance of the “safety” of their “pets” is disgusting. Praying on anxious pet owners, knowing that offering potential peace of mind resonates with empathy and belief.
Are you proud to be offering subscriptions and faulty products in order to entrap and profit?
I am not the only one.
I have been partially reassured knowing many people are realising this fraudulent scheme.

I have praised this company for over a year since having a tracker. But it is now 4 days since I sent a query and no one is replying.
Are they still in business?

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs.
The tracker doesnt work without signal so completely useless in wooded/mountain/rural areas.
When it did work it only showed the location (had to update it if your dog moved)of your dog on a very basic
map but not in relation to where you are. So you have no idea if your dog is 5m away or 500m away.
What top off the poor quality of this product is the threatening emails/letters saying you have to pay the full contract duration for a product that is absolutely useless.

Would not recommend.
1st tracker worked intermittently, then the plastic cover broke and lost the tracker. Had to buy a replacement, which never worked, stuck in a contract & company simply send aggressive emails demanding money for something which does not work.
Will never use again & wouldn't recommend them.

I have been sent a letter threatening…
I have been sent a letter threatening me with Enforcement Agents for £90 saying I have pay in 7 days. The letter says they have written to me before about which they haven't. I have had no information on a renewal. I want to cancel my safer pet please. I found the letter I received very upsetting.
A invoice number D2922. Never received an invoice

Totally useless device. DO NOT BUY
Totally useless device. Initially said my UK pet was in China (not UK) and the correct map would only stay on the screen for a few seconds. Worst of all the tracker kept constantly disconnecting from the app. Called help line for help to reconnect it, but this involves pressing the button on the device the cat wears (not easy to do if the cat is missing!) So to find the cat using the device it seems you need (1) first locate the missing cat, (2) then press the button on the cat's device to get the app to reconnect and (3) you will then have a few minutes when the app will show where the (recently found) cat is before the device disconnects from the app again!! Great, eh?
Safer pet promised to phone back to resolve this but never did. Returned it within the 14 day returns period (tracked delivery) but weeks later there is no refund and no communication from Saferpet

Excellent support from Saferpet
My cat recently lost his collar and tracker - it made me realise how much I use the app to check where my cat is and the reassurance this gives me, as he covers a big area! The replacement cost was very reasonable, and as always the customer support was excellent as I needed reminding how to link the new tracker to my app. Highly recommend both the tracker and the support from Safer Pet.

they carried on taking subscription even when cancelled and also device is useless!! does not work without a GPS signal which is pretty much any forest in the UK where my dog loves to run off !!!
ask yourself why the only reviews they show are from years ago...................

Appallingly customer service
Device stopped working. Emailed to say I needed a replacement or I was not willing to pay monthly subscription with a device that broke after 9 months. Didn’t receive a response so cancelled my subscription. 7 months later received a letter in the post to say I owe £11.98 and I should pay immediately or they will send debt collection agents who might take my car. Appallingly customer service, poor quality product and laughable threats. Would never use again.
Update after response: I believe your records to be incorrect- never received a replacement nor an envelope to return the broken one.
Update in regards to tracking number: ok, I’m wrong, I chose to use my own money to purchase a tracker despite receiving a replacement in the post …. Sounds feasible. Good customer service again!
You will get your £11.98, hope you sleep better tonight however the product is still not fit for purpose, can’t even last the length of a sim contract

Worked for about a month then stopped - not impressed
Worked for about a month, then could not get device to reconnect, even with new sim card provided by Safer pet. Really not impressed, slow customer response, and total waste of money

Subscription fee con, steer clear
Steer clear of this, such a con. Poor product, easily falls off and then such bad tracking capability you can't find it AND THEN THEY FORCE YOU TO PAY FULL CONTRACT.
We are so fed up with the back and forth over emails and the company's lack of accountability. They even send warning letters of CCJs and enforcement officers.
We are taking them to court on the ground of product not fit for purpose. Reading these reviews and speaking to others, it is clear that their whole business model is built around forced subscription fees and bullying.

Stay away from safer pet
I found this tracker to be good for my cat, however he lost it and as the tracking was not working never found it, i was offered a replacement half price which i did, but was not told that i would then have to pay 2 contracts, had i known i would not have bought the replacement. I want to cancel when my year is up and contacted saferpet about this to now be told that i owe nearly £100 for the remaining months on both. They have never asked me for payment for the
lost tracker until now.

I purchased one last year after paying…
I purchased one last year after paying for a years subscription I canceled after a month told could not give me a refund so lost money put that down to bad luck. Now a year later have a email to say I have to pay for this year contacted them and said canceled last year. Now told I have to pay one hundred and twenty pound to cancel as is a five year contract with second party for sim card. Which I was not made aware of at start. They advice to sell contract on to a second party

Safer Pet tracker device, application and service.
Hi,
Have had the device now for 11 months. Paid £29 + £44 for two years of GSM / SIM data.
At first it took some getting used to the idiosyncrasies of the tracker device. However once familiar with the charge, power up / down and connection routines it is mostly hassle free if not a little onerous as the charge only holds for 2 / 3 days.
We have saved/found our squirrel/deer/rabbit loving dog in "anger" once using this device.
After-sales and support service: has been ok - good.
Value for money: v. good.
Lots of scope for software improvements on the IOS version.
