Ramsin did an outstanding job with a laptop which had been painfully slow and constantly running out of memory. I dropped it off Friday after work, and he had replaced my hard drive with a much bigger and newer one, copied over all my old programs and data, and fixed several lingering software issues. By first thing Monday morning, I was back to work with everything working seamlessly and a lot faster. Fair pricing, very knowledgeable, and excellent service. Highly recommended

My email was hacked from Cox communication, and after several days of trying to work with Cox, I gave up and called Larry at PC Mechanic. Within hours, Larry took my computer and clearly spoke with me about what he would recommend and then within 48 hours my computer had been cleaned, made faster, and Larry spent time with me organizing it. A absolutely great professional experience, not only in repair, but also in explaining about better methods of keeping the computer, less cluttered and more organized. To begin with working with Ramsin was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experiences. He is personable, fun and amazingly patient and knowledgeable. Good to talk to and with as well as getting the things you want to know explained in wonderful "English" language, even I could understand. The work he did for our house is working amazingly well, the internet is fast and glitchfree. The connections are spot on, and what he did to my computer saved me lots of dollars and has extended the life and speed and efficiency for more years.

I initially found Ramsin, owner of PC Mechanic (Santa Barbara Computer Repair), after suffering a computer meltdown during a recent power outage and needing to salvage some important files on my hard drive. He not only quickly saved the key files (I had them within a day), but he also helped me choose a new PC, set it up, transfer my files and programs from old to new, and choose better forms of back-up and virus/malware protection to ease similar situations in the future. All of this support occurred over a span of just a few days, and his pricing was so reasonable that I actually rounded up my payment to express my gratitude for his work.

I've been teaching at UCSB and several other major universities for nearly three decades, so my 4 PCs receive a lot of use. When I search for occasional tech support, I focus on four primary issues: (1) technical expertise, (2) timely communication with me, (3) professional courtesy, and (4) fair pricing.
