On est apparemment obligé de cocher une étoile au moins pour pouvoir écrire un commentaire…c’est la seule raison pour laquelle je n’ai pas mis 0 !
Pannes à répétition, problèmes techniques relégués dans une file de « tickets ». Service téléphonique inutile. Les opérateurs ne parviennent pas à vous identifier et ne retrouvent pas les numéros de tickets.
Mon site Internet est en panne 50 % du temps depuis 10 jours. Aucun élément quant à la source du problème, aucun contrôle en cas de nouvelle chute du site Internet et impossible d’obtenir une solution. À part quand un informaticien a accepte fin de lire le ticket et de faire redémarrer le serveur, ce qui manifestement n’est pas possible le week-end.
Tout simplement inadmissible.

Payment/validation not suited for companies

For us as a company it's not possible to get verified in a professional manner. The only possible validation is a live video check for persons with a valid document. This is not at all suitable for companies. Unfortunately, without validation there is no SEPA at Scaleway. Good bye, Scaleway.

Customer since Dedibox

Customer since Dedibox, we had a machine running for 12 years without any major interruption and then on Sep. 19 2025, the machine suddenly became unreachable. The support made claims that electrical failure occurred and that the whole machine had blown up, including the disks and that nothing can be recovered.

This is obviously a lie and after checking on recent feedback we now realize that this has become a common practice at Scaleway for the past years. With very little empathy we were told that the machine is old and we should just pick up a newer machine.

Pathetic.

I have never had any problems with…

I have never had any problems with Scaleway. This has been the case for a long time. Although I only use Object Storage, the service is reliable. It works as it should. The data is simply there, and I have never encountered any problems retrieving it. And most importantly... Scaleway is not affiliated with the US.

On going server that I've been paying for years suddenly went "our of stock"

So I've been paying for their server and one day I just needed to reinstall my OS but I was not able to do that. I contacted support and they send me a message that server all of the sudden is "out of stock" but I have paid for it and never stopped paying. Then they told me to order another server which is crazy. I simply cannot understand how the server that you paid for and never stopped paying goes "out of stock".

Fonctionne ... tant que le support n'est pas nécessaire

Ca peut convenir tant que vous n'en avez pas réellement besoin, et surtout pas du support technique qui malgré plusieurs mois d'échange tourne en rond... Alors même qu'il s'agit d'une demande lié à RGPD qu'ils ne respectent donc pas !
Les services fonctionnent, tant qu'ils ne sont pas à remplacer pour les arranger.

Failures of servers and lost data

I've been a loyal client of Scaleway for 10+ years at the times when they were Online.net. And they were good. But since they became Scaleway year by year they get worse and worse. I'm administrator of several dediboxes (dedicated servers) for my clients. I've seen lots of unprofessional things: one of my servers stopped working because their IT guy accidentally powered off our server thinking it was the one that was requested for technical maintenance. We had an issue when the payment was not accepted for the first time, then we fixed the payment method and asked the support to confirm that. They confirmed everything is OK and the payment was made. But then they deleted our server and all backups (at their additional FTP space) because "we didn't pay in time for the services". And after 2 months of communication they did not had courage to say that it was their mistake or that they provided a wrong consulting regarding the payment information. But all the communication we had were in written form in the ticketing system so it was easy for them to read and analyze our communication, But it seems they have zero quality service department. In the last 3 years I had 4 servers destroyed. They just break down without any prior warnings. We have Zabbix monitoring configured with temperature, S.M.A.R.T. and other stats, but that does not help to predict a servers' failure. And the support says that the servers are not repairable. So you have only option to buy a new dedibox and restore your backups if you made them. At the recent hardware failure the support told me that all starting lines of their servers have very old hardware that can break at any minute and they say to use a higher end servers. Surprisingly they never mention that when you put an order for the starting lines of their servers. They don't inform you that this is a very old hardware that has very high risks of failure, unrepairable, and the user should take the risks. No, they don't do that. They simply want your money and fool you around. Of course in all these situations the support was very unhelpful. Maximum what the offered is a refund for the active month for the server in question. They were super unhelpful and their style of communication sounds like "it's your problem, man, not ours, stop bothering us!". In the past I recommended this company, but now it's a total disaster. Never ever deal with it.

Scathing Review of Scaleway: Dishonest Billing & Terrible Support

I signed up for a free trial with Scaleway, hoping to test their cloud services. However, when I decided not to continue, I was shocked to find no clear cancellation option—instead, I had to manually delete all resources to avoid charges.

Despite taking precautions, I was unexpectedly charged €139 for the first month. When I contacted support for a refund, their response was unbelievably cold and dismissive. They refused to refund me, even though:
- Their cancellation process is misleading (no direct "cancel subscription" button).
- Many other cloud providers (AWS, DigitalOcean, Linode) offer refunds in goodwill cases.
- Their support agent rudely insisted
they’d keep charging me for the next month, even after I explicitly wanted to cancel.

Final Verdict: Avoid Scaleway at All Costs
This company has:
❌ Deceptive billing practices (hidden charges, unclear cancellation).
❌ Terrible customer support (zero empathy, refusal to help).
❌ No respect for customers (many others report similar issues).

If you value transparency, fairness, and decent support, stay far away from Scaleway. There are far better alternatives (Hetzner, AWS, DigitalOcean) that actually treat customers with respect.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) – A scammy, customer-hostile company.

3/5 réel. Vraiment correct.

Certains services sont peut être inégaux, mais dans l'ensemble c'est une entreprise propre.

Le support n'est pas catastrophique. Ils sont très réactifs.

Scaleway : Affligeant

Scaleway, précédemment Online SAS, est un hébergeur Internet français, fondé par Xavier Niel en 1999 et filiale à 94,8 % du groupe Iliad. En 2024, Scaleway revendiquait environ 100 millions d'euros de chiffre d’affaires.

L'hébergement sur un serveur chez Scaleway coûte 1200 € par an avec un support des plus désagréables qui ne sert plus à rien en cas de problème, soit la valeur de 6 années chez d'hébergement chez O2switch, où le support et la gestion du site sont véritablement opérationnels.
J'ai donc décider début juin chez de migrer chez O2switch pour bénéficier d'un meilleur service et d'un prix beaucoup plus abordable que chez Scaleway.

J'ai donc indiqué à l'admin de chez Scaleway, ma migration, etc. Hors début juillet j'ai reçu de nouveau une nouvelle Facture ! Après ma contestation auprès de Scaleway, il m'a été indiqué que je n'avais pas résilier le contrat de mon serveur, ce que j'ai fait après immédiatement, hors aujourd'hui début août, il me refacture à nouveau ! D'où aujourd'hui ma colère et ce message sur Trust pilote, où de nombreux avis parlent de la mauvaise qualité des services de Scaleway, qui se moque véritablement de ses clients.

Ce comportement est affligeant, à la limite de l'escroquerie. Je n'ai jamais eu de support véritable de la part de scaleway. En faite ce qui leur importe c'est l'accumulation des profits, avec plus de 100, millions de chiffres d'affaire leur manière est scandaleuse, un abus de pouvoir. Monsieur  Xavier Niel continue à s'enrichir  encore et encore ! Quoi qu'il en soit , j'ai préféré régler un an chez O2swich pour 150€ pour 1 an, alors que Scalevay vient de me voler la valeur d'un an d'hébergement chez O2swich.

Suppression de données abusive

Perdre toutes ses données en moins de 20 jours à cause d’un plafond de carte bancaire ?
C’est ce qu' on vient de vivre. Et on est encore sous le choc.
Depuis 4 ans, nous sommes clients chez Scaleway. On a toujours payé nos factures. On fait partie de leur Startup Program.
Mais ce mois-ci, un simple problème de carte (plafond atteint + mails passés en spam)… et tous nos serveurs ont été supprimés, sans appel, sans relance humaine, sans solution de récupération.

> Bases e données
> Zéro filet de sécurité, aucune escalade
Et là, je réalise qu’en pile 20 jours (après 4 an de paiement irréprochable), une défaillance de CB peut entraîner l’effacement total de nos environnements de production. Heureusement ?
Scaleway a compris la gravité de la situation et a retrouvé nos backup ?
Non, heureusement on avait migré aucun environnement de production chez eux, nous étions uniquement sur des bacs à sable / back up. Bonne leçon en tout cas !
Belle horror stories à raconter !

J’ai contacté Scaleway, et cherché une solution en vain.
Mais aujourd’hui, je suis forcée d’alerter : ce qui m’arrive peut arriver à d’autres. D'ailleurs certains m'ont contacté sur ce Slack pour me raconter des histoires similaires et la gravité des conséquences qui en ont suivi, certains ayant eu moins de chances car il s'agissait de leur PROD.
Le cloud souverain, ce n’est pas juste une question d’infrastructure. C’est aussi une question de partenaire de confiance.
Et là, il y a un vrai sujet. Bref vérifiez vos plafond de paiement et mails qui peuvent tomber dans SPAMS régulièrement, sinon vous risquez de tout perdre..

J’ai cru au projet de Xavier Niel mais c'est un echec..

J’ai cru au projet de Xavier Niel pour des serveurs souverains français, et j’ai lancé mon application en choisissant Scaleway plutôt qu’AWS. Quelle déception : en 6 mois, malgré plusieurs mails et formulaires pour accéder aux serveurs HDS, aucune réponse. Impossible de lancer une activité sans leur validation. Dernier mail resté sans réponse, comme tous les précédents. Le service client est inexistant. Une belle idée, sabotée par une exécution catastrophique.

Commercialement 100% nul

Commercialement, il n'y a personne ! MERCI FREE. Au lieu de regarder les pannes des autres, regarde chez toi le BORDEL de Scaleway. Service minable, même pas capable de fournir une copie de contrat. 100% RIDICULE, 100% PLUS CHER QUE OVH PAR EXEMPLE, 100% MAUVAIS. La cerise, c'est que les tickets de réclamation ont disparu et pour autant jamais traités ! MERCI FREE

Bad service, constantly goes down

When we learn IT, the first thing we learn is to have offsite backups for services and databases.

This is something ScaleWay completely fails at.

A few times this year we've lost access to our K8 services (we host multiple clients).

Yesterday one of our clients had a major event. All our services were down because of ScaleWay.

There had no empathy in the situation.

They cannot do simple IT, do not trust them. They cannot do simple offsite services and backups.

Cette société est une catastrophe.
Il y a quelques années, ils m’ont forcé à fermer un serveur, car celui-ci n’était pas rentable.
Aujourd’hui, sur un autre serveur, toutes mes données ont disparu : voici leur réponse :

J’ai bien peur que dû à sa position physique sur un serveur multi-lames, il est impossible de récupérer le disque de manière physique ou d’y lancer toute opération physique (tel un redémarrage électrique).

des amateurs, pas professionels

Société prometteuse à ses débuts, puis montée régulière des prix en rajoutant des services dont on a pas besoin. Migration forcée vers de soit disant nouveaux serveurs. Mise en place de sécurité jamais demandée pour au final ne plus pouvoir accéder à son propre serveur. J'ai donc bloqué le paiement n'ayant plus accès , ils ont alors détruits mes données puis maintenant me relance pour payer 9€48 un service non fournie.
Des Amateurs en terme de support et de service?
A FUIR ABSOLUMENT.
